  1. is that origional rear box i tried a search on e bay and couldnt find anything................what should search be i can get shipped to UK address and get friend to bring it over just found this, it looks right http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEXUS-GS300-3-0-S-SE...id=p3286.c0.m14 Yup, that's the one. thanks i bought the pair...so will change both.....atleast will keep them even and the other is probably due to fail soon it looks quite a straight forward fit do you know if the tailpipes from the origional boxes will fit easily there is one for a mk 2 advertised on e bay, but its only one what other non standard tail pipe cover would fit . The original trims should fit but it all depends how easily they come off. If they are stuck solid, any damage or mishaping of the trim will make it more difficult to re-fit. Any aftermarket trims will fit if they are the correct diameter. They just have a habit of rusting more and looking naff after a while. You generally get what you pay for on that score, mega cheap and they will more than likely look cr*p after a fairly short time. Fitting the back box is easy enough, although you will probably need new bolts, and maybe a gasket (or some exhaust sealing paste as an alternative).
  2. Sounds like you are experiencing a common issue with the starter/solenoid. Here is a tutorial I did on how to overhaul the solenoid contact set. Starter/Solenoid Overhaul
  3. starting to get vibrating thro the steering column yes? I would get Lexus to check them out then. Either sticking piston in the caliper or sticky slide pins. These are the tutorials I did on related components for these quite common issues if you fancy having a go yourself. Slide Pin Overhaul Pad and Disc change Caliper Removal/Change
  4. binding brakes? Any vibration to go with the noise?

  6. Glad you both found the guides helpful. Cheers :)
  7. Cheers for that, I can only see what looks like an amp in there, It is under the floor liner of the boot well in the right hand side. I will have another look tomorrow. Tony What year is your GS? On a Mk1, there is a large rectangular moulding on the boot floor liner on the right hand side. With the eject button and door for the CD cartridge on the back edge of it. If you can't see the changer, but you can see the amp (which should be under the changer), then you have found why your CD button doesn't work. i.e. the CD changer is missing
  8. Yup, you can get the rear boxes for £25 (GBP) on ebay. Just ask the seller regarding shipping.
  9. Not sure if these are anything to do with it, but found these service bulletins which I have put up on my server for now for you to look at. o2 sensors and ECU Bulletin (obsolete) o2 sensors and ECU Bulletin (revised)
  10. Have you tried emailing TTE?
  11. Yeah, but if there is a problem with any of the engine components, VSC disables itself as the ecu thinks it may not be able to overide the engine management. So the VSC coming on, is not an indicator that the ecu is knackered. i.e. It doesn't necessarily need changing. So I was wondering why they said it needed changing. For instance, fixing the O2 sensors, will put the Check engine light out, which in turn should put out the VSC light, without the need for a very expensive £2000 ECU.
  12. Yup, the symptoms you describe are indicitive of seizing caliper and/or sticking slide pins. I have done a few tutorials on doing various jobs in relation to this. I have a GS, but the IS front brakes are the same. Slide Pin Overhaul Pad and Disc change Caliper Removal/Change
  13. I was going to ask the same. I have an iphone which I am using on 02 anyway so is there anything to be gained?
  14. Looking good so far. Are the wheels on the back going to rub with 25mm spacers and wider tyres? They look a decent fill in the arches without spacers. Can't you raise the front up a little to help with the speed bumps? It does look like it is nose diving a little bit at the moment so might look better??
  15. What year is your GS? If it is a 93-97 Mk1, the CD changer is located in the boot floor on the right had side. You can't miss it. No idea for a mk2 or later.
  16. That's both for that price, so quite a discount over the Lexus part then. Yup, priced per pair and free shipping B)
  17. Looking good, although speedbumps are gonna be a ba***rd if you are keeping it that low.
  18. This is the seller I used for my GS links. Although be aware that although it says item location is in scotland, they shipped from Taiwan. No problems though. clicky
  19. I've just got some from ebay too.
  20. You have to buy the arm, around £180 if the price is the same as the GS arms. There are after market polly bushes available for some stuff, but no idea if these particular ones are available though.
  21. Very nice, and very shiny. Liking the wheels a lot B)
