  1. TigerFish

    Gs300 Mk1

As far as I know, only the original factory CD changer will work with the system. My good CD changer I gave to a member on here a few months back but I do have his old unit if you want it to swap bits around to see if you can make up a fully working unit. The symptoms on the one I have were that it would play fine for a while, then the sound would go off, it would come back again after a while and then the cycle would repeat. Depending where abouts you are in Buckinghamshire, you could pop to Basingstoke and we could have a fiddle about with it.
  2. Yup Tint R he did the monster, and another of our cars, plus about 10-15 cars from LOC, many moons ago. i will be taking the GS in there aswell, as i got a phenomenal quote from Richard Are they quotes open to LOC members? I wouldn't mind getting mine done and Nottingham is not too far to go when I am in Derby visiting the parents.
  3. the sensors for the auto wipers are on the inside of the window in the center and its incased in gel(thats why 9 times out of 10 when you replace the window you replace the sensor) Does it just work on light levels?
  4. I believe the other sensor is the same as on my GS, and is the solar sensor for the aircon. I always assumed the auto-wiper function on other cars is controlled by sensors on the outside of the windscreen to detect moisture, so would be relatively easy to add. I could be wrong though.
  5. Is there enough adjustment for the geo on the standard suspension to cater for a 40mm drop?
  6. I would expect it to be something fairly simple really. Either the wiring between the battery and altenator, the battery and earth, or the alternator itself. Odds are still stacked against the altenator I suspect, even if it has been replaced before (twice). Were they new, or from breakers? If you take the belt off, does the altenator turn super smooth, or rough and notchy?
  7. Around the gear selector is 58804-30180, but at 430 odd euros, it is f**ing expensive ashtray is 74110-30180, about 130 euro. I would think a scrappy is your best bet, there is no difference between the Sport and standard models on the interior.
  8. Sadly it is a common problem on the 10" rears so even ones you see for sale are often cracked. On a side note, I do think £320 is a bargain for a brand spanking new dealer sourced wheel.
  9. 150K is no problem for them at all, subject to proper maintenance of course. You are good for double or more easy.
  10. Yep, 11.8v. Guess my charging circuit needs attention! I ran through all the fuses the other day, I'll check the connections to the boxes themselves. Thanks. Any more for any more? Was hoping this would be a common fault :( Also, just remembered I drove it last night and the TRC Off and ABS lights were also flashing up along with the previous 3 if it makes any difference to anyone. Am I being thick or have I read somewhere about a dodgy boot loom causing weird problems? I think the warning lights are just symptoms of the draining battery. i.e. the system will no longer function as the voltage drops below certain levels. When the altenator went on my mk1, the altenator light was the first to show, followed by oil and abs a bit later on down the road. More systems to fail on the mk2 hence more lights to illuminate as the battery drains. Maybe check your earth straps to make sure you are getting a good connection between battery and earth.
  11. Be prepared for a hefty bill to do all of them. There are top and bottom wishbones on the front, along with the bottom balljoint, tire rod ends and trailing link arms. Pretty much the same for the rear end. Brand new Lexus items all round would without a doubt be knocking on the door of a couple of grand pretty much.
  12. Very nice LS. Looks great with the clear indicators etc. Is your project purely an off roader, or a daily driver too?
  13. I'm confused. What is the point of comparing to original spec wheels. You need to compare what he has now (hence needing the offset - not just guessing), with the clearance he has now, to know if the difference between what he has now and what he wants to get will clear or not. i.e. If he can only get a fag paper between the tyre and arch lip now, his plans will fail, regardless of offset in fact.
  14. Well, are they an offset of 35 or 45??
  15. You can't leave it aside, for some reason, extream wants to go higher
  16. WHO GIVE A **** ABOUT YOUR AND GORDS ARGUMENTS. TAKE THEM OUT TO EACH OTHER, AWAY FROM PUBLIC VIEW. Indeed. Some people only seem to be happy when they are comparing pecker sizes in public (and that is pointed at Prolex and Gord before anyone gets confused). Grow up boys.
  17. It is unlikely that will help. When you order the wheels, you would have to order the right offset as it will be different for different cars. The offset is normally stamped on the rear face of the wheel somewhere.
  18. Shouldn't you be a gold member to advertise items for sale? As you seem to be connected to this whole saga in one way or another!
  19. There are people on here (LOC) who have done it, so it does work, but obviously the place you are jubileeing has to be smooth and rust free (and the right size jubilee for the diameter). Check out this link clicky
  20. Cut out the leaking part and replace with high pressure flexible pipe like fuel line rubber piping. A couple of jubilee clips and the jobs a good un.
  21. Try contacting this seller on ebay, I'm sure he has had them listed for the mk2 before. clicky
  22. As monster-mat says, we need the offset to know how far the wheels stick out in the arches. That will dictate how much clearance you have and what other sizes you can get away with.
