  8. As above, the odb readers are so cheap, I leave one in the glovebox of each of our cars. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  9. Is the abs light on as well? I'd have expected that to be lit if a sensor was faulty. As you say vsc issues can be caused by many things, brake components (would expect abs light to be on though), but also ignition or throttle issues, and also things such as the yaw control components. Probably worth either getting the codes read, or shorting the right pins in the diagnostic socket to do the "blink" counts on the lights to read the codes (sorry, on holiday at the moment so cannot point you to the correct method to do the code Reading). Without some pointers, you could be randomly changing all sorts, and racking up some substantial costs in the process. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  10. When you say wet weather, does that mean simulating wet weather with a hose pipe would make it appear, or is it the spray off the roads under the car causing the problem to show up? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  11. Are there any used original keys on eBay that you can swap the blade and innards on? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  12. The lip on the back would be evident as soon as the discs were changed unless something has clouted the backing plate recently. Definitely a disc off job to take a look. This tutorial I did for the GS should be very similar to the SC, if not exactly the same.....
  13. Have the discs been changed recently? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

  15. I'd have thought you'd have heard a rumbling/droning noise way before a scraping noise if the wheel bearing had gone. Could be that maybe the hand brake shoe retainer pin (that keep the shoes against the back plate) has snapped or something, and the shoe is tipping outwards slightly when turning left. 16. As suggested, you could get a used engine cover on eBay (with badge) for 15 quid delivered. Seems a good option. I can't imagine it was worth stealing to be honest, and would be inclined to accept that it may have fallen off. That's not to say it wasn't most likely found, and then binned when they had no idea where it came from Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  17. Great work so far. Good on you for taking on a pretty sizeable project 😎 Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

  19. If they are HID headlamps they should go through the "drop and rise to correct level" reset when switched on. If they are just halogen bulbs, they probably don't have self levelling. No idea if all gen 3 cars had HIDs. If not, then a manual adjust would be the only way, unless there is a thumb wheel height adjuster inside the car to adjust for trailer/passenger load (I've not had a gen 3 GS, only gen 1 and 2, the gen 2 had HIDs and they cycled through the height reset when switched on, and the warning light on the dash also self tested when ignition switched on). 20. Has it got headlamp washers? Is there a self level "check" lamp come on when you first switch the ignition on?
  21. Looks like a good deal. Putting aside loyalties to the Lexus brand, for the money, it seems a good choice to take with kids and all that taken into account. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  22. Is it an SC @ 1min 5secs of this video? Anyone on here? 🤣 Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  23. Good stuff. Has anyone done away with the rear headrests and just gone with the roll hoops inside them? I think they'd look pretty cool chromed. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  24. I could do the climate control and fascia for £40 plus the postage. Can't track down the reversing camera at the moment, will be shoved away in some nook and cranny in the garage somewhere.
