  1. No one? What does it say on your dipsticks?
  2. Have you checked the drop links for the anti-roll bar, the top wishbone ball joint, or a loose brake pad?
  3. Ok, I know this has been discussed many, many times and Type-IV is the one always brought up. However, today I was doing some stuff on my Mk1 GS, and the dipstick has "Type T-II" engraved on it near the fill level markers, and also around the dipstick handle, a sticker that says "Use only Type T-II or equivelent" or words to that effect. Does that mean the earlier cars do not need Type-IV? or is the expensive stuff being misquoted on some ocassions for some models in general?
  4. Got it from ebay and very simple to fit. Albeit that the connector wires were the wrong way round (seems common with the lexus wiring for some reason).
  5. Old thread i know, but i was wondering what the bulb type is in the dash to, that link does not list them, anyone know what they are ? This is a tutorial I did for removing the dash and changing the bulbs. Unfortunately, I couldn't track the bulb type down, but did order some replacements which were wrong I haven't looked again since but do plan on trying again at some point. dash removal
  6. Nice motor B) I can't see the ebay link from work so can't see if they are upgraded normal bulbs, or a full on hid kit. I would go for a hid kit if it isn't a hid kit you bought, I have one on mine and the improvement is amazing. I bought the 6000k set for mine. I had the "white xenon" bulbs on mine before, and although an improvement on halogens, they are no match for the hids.
  7. I got my meguiars clay bar kit (came with clay bar, container for clay bar, mequiars detailing spray and cloth - not sure for definate on the cloth though) from Halfords, are they out of stock or is it just hidden away on a bottom shelf somewhere?
  8. Had a similar thing happen on my E36 325 Coupe BMW, although going considerably quicker. I couldn't tell either. A testament to modern car design it would seem. The result may have been different for me had it been the front mind you (not sure if yours was front or rear). Glad you got sorted out quickly and minimised the knock on effect in the road works, doesn't take much to cause massive tailbacks.
  9. points expire after 3 years (but remain on your licence for 5 I think), so your other points should be spent already.
  10. Had a couple of different brands of the cheap ones on my GS and had no problems at all.
  11. Yeah, as standard the Sport came with 8.5 all round. The 10" rears were an option. As mentioned, eBay is your best bet. Last set I saw go through went for 150 or there abouts, a steal for that winning bidder.
  12. I would recommend Rain-X over the Halfords stuff personally. I have a bottle of both and the Halfords stuff is not as good. The review gave it top spot only due to the cheaper price and larger bottle. It wasn't as long lasting or durable I found so in the end having to apply it more often would counteract the cost side.
  13. There is an adjustment on the push rod into the master cylinder. Maybe they tweeked that at the same time as doing your parking brake. There is nothing to connect the normal hydraulic brakes and the foot/park brake, so adjust the park brake wont effect the other brake pedal.
  14. It is cheaper to insure as a learner than main driver though. Me ex had her son on her Ford Fiesta insurance as a learner for only a few quid extra a year. As soon as he passed his test and there was a danger of him driving on his own, they refused to insure him.
  15. I don't really want to post the answer as im lazy :winky:
  16. Sorry, can't help specifically but maybe this link for the parts breakdown might help? clicky
  17. Can't see any reason why it should make any difference. The handbrake is purely mechanical so in no way connected to the hydraulics of the normal brakes. Strange. hmmm, bit of a bugger about the plugs on the stereo. Could be why the pin outs didn't match the diagram.
  18. There is also a fuse link in the base of the socket too. You have to take the whole socket out to see/check it. Once the lighter unit is out, undo the nut underneath the bottom of the socket and you will see a double washer with an insulating disc in between, and a connecting wire between the two washers which is the fuse link. When mine went, I just took the insulating disc out and bolted it back together. Do this at your own risk.... no warranties given or implied... lol.
  19. Thats excellent, thanks a lot for that link. Not quite sure how i go about ordering from that site though or is it just to show which parts/part numbers i need to give to a lexus dealer? Thanks again for the top info :D I only use it for the part numbers, never ordered from them.
  20. Check out this link to see what part numbers are available clicky
  21. Those wheels are much nicer than the originals, looks very good mate B) Only thing I don't like, which is just a personal thing, is the 430 badge on a 300. For me it is either the right badge, or leave it off so people have to guess.
  22. wil do mate, got car booked in for it MOT tomoz? its not up till the 19th nov, but gettting it in anyway it still starts from that date anyway the new one dos as long as its not over a month early Yeah, I always put mine in a month before. If it passes, then no probs, if not, you get a few weeks to sort it out. HI Tigerfish it failed on hand brake never mind got it booked in tomorrow for the to do 35 notes parts extra if needed, just needs adjustment i hope i cant be bothered to fiddle around the hole ANYWAY do you or anybody else know abouts theses poppers on the centre vents above radio, are they clips or just push in locaters,i tried this afternoon to remove vents as explaned in sticky just not sure what they mean by poppers i have pushed a 6'' metal rule down the side all around a good 2'' so i quess poppers mean just pushed in? but i would like to make sure before i try again as i dont want to brake anything,so i hope you or someone can help me Not a bad result on the MOT. If the vents are like the Mk1, which I believe they are, then it is just a push fit. A tight push fit, but they will pop out. On mine, I angle the vents down and hook my fingers onto the bottom part of the vent surround to pull as hard as I can. You can lever them if you wanted to, but there is obviously more chance of damaging the surrounding dash/console.
