  1. Hello Tigerfish That would at least give me an idea if the one i had from you is shot as it would enable me to try and power up my old one and see what happens with that one. I have now bought one of the single din fascia panels from ebay so if all else fails i could always convert to a single slot cd player that is compatible with my ipod, shame though as i like the standard system it seems that the multichanger is the weak link in an otherwise quality setup, still i cant complain too much i had 7 months trouble free from your old one. No problem mate, if you want it, just let me know. As far as the single din fascia is concerned, did you definately get a right hand drive version off ebay? They have always been for left hand drive cars even when advertised over here. I ended up getting the genuine Toyota items for the Aristo as I couldn't track down a right hand drive version.
  2. You broke mine already I still have your old one in the garage if you want it to try and make one good unit out of the two.
  3. Ditto all above. Stands out like a turd on a bowling green when the 10" rears are fitted. Front wheels have flat face, 10" rears have a curved dish to them.
  4. Apologies for the delay mate, just got back from Spain. I still need to get up to Derby mate, but might be going this weekend for mothers day. However, I do have an IS200 carrier in the garage in Basingstoke. No idea if they are exactly the same but for the cost of postage, you can have that one instead if I don't get up to Derby. Up to you mate.
  5. would the smaller tyre from front still fit the 10" RIM....................maybe the last owner made a mistake and got 4 all round i may go for a slightly larger tyre anyway, may get the guy to check when i get new rears I would be surprised if a tyre fitter would fit them by mistake even if ordered like that. As Dave mentions, it would be very obvious. If the front face of your wheels all look the same, then you don't have the 10" wide rears.
  6. Didn't Tango have a problem with logging in also with the new firefox version?
  7. Depends what wheels you have at the rear, if you have the 10" wide rear wheels (optional extra on the Sport), then you should have 275/35 18's on the rear. If the wheels are the same as the fronts, then they have the same size tyres all round as far as I am aware. Nothing stopping you putting slightly wider ones on the narrow rear wheels of course.
  8. Is there a way of turning off the passenger side airbag on the LS? Some cars warn you that it is disabled, maybe they knocked the switch?
  9. well i got the garage report ? caliper seized will cost 90 notes to sent it away for reconditoning, just hoping its not worped the disc ? i will know in a few days when caliper is put back on,if it as then 2 new disc i will need Did they say if it was the piston(s) in the caliper, or the slide pins that had seized? Very common for either/or/both to happen. Well worth sorting the slide pins out at the same time if you have the funds (something like £8 each from lexus and there are four). If not changing them, atleast make sure they dismantle and re-grease during the job. There is a link in my sig for overhauling the slide pins. thanks for that i will go up garage today and ask the question but as they are sending it away for reconditioning will those not be checked Normally, if you are removing the caliper, you unbolt it from the slide pins and take it away. The pins stay in situe on the carrier inside the rubber boots that protect them. Unfortunately it's not a given that the pins will be serviced at the same time. If you look at the tutorials in my signature (slide pin overhaul/brake pads and discs change/caliper removal), you sholuld see the bits concerned and how they may or may not get touched by the garage during the work.

  11. IMO, as long as you use ethylene glycol based antifreeze and change it at the recommended intervals you shouldn't hit any problems. Just remember that changing from one to another would require a complete flush, as the whole amount would only be as good as the shortest change antifreeze. i.e. if you had long life, and a little of the shorter life stuff still left in, you would still have to change out at the shorter interval.
  12. You could try Envy Performance, I bought my mk1 lowering springs (RS*R) from them and they had mk2 stuff listed at the time.
  13. No, you wouldn't have to change all four. I have some grooved and dimpled discs on the front of my mk1, no problems so far. Not sure if they improved the braking of the car in particular, but they do look cool B)
  14. Yeah, this guy from far east is fast. Obviously not going to be next day, but have always received tracking number straight away and item in a few days. Bought quite a few items from him. £50 for pair including postage. clicky
  15. do they fit ok, and as theres no frame do they look better ??....more stream lined . Yup, the flat blades look miles better. I'll try and pop a pic on tomorrow if I get time and can get on the internet for long enough.
  16. They look like the ones I have on mine. I've used a couple of different types off ebay, but the fixing certainly looks the same as the ones I currently have. No problems with them so far after 5 or 6 months or so.
  17. Yeah, that isn't a plec, looks like a Synodontis ocellifer, or very similar. There are quite a lot of hybrid syno's around these days so a completely positive i.d. can be hard sometimes. Shouldn't cause any of your current fish any harm unless they were very poorly anyway. Although they can get a bit grumpy if anything tries to take up in its hidey hole, especially as they get older. I have one (ocellifer) which I actually got around the same time as the black shark and it is still here 14 years later. It wasn't a baby when I got it either so it would be at least another couple of years older. Where is the garden centre you use? In Chesterfield you shouldn't be too far from Pinxton in Nottinghamshire I don't think, Wharf Aquatics in Pinxton are usually very good and have a good selection of rarer stuff. Also Blue Lagoon Aquatics about a mile up the road from Wharf are decent enough too. They are a couple I can think off fairly close to you.
  18. Thanks Dave. A pond is next on the agenda. Had one a most places I've been so far, but have bigger lans this time round. Thanks. The trigons are nice corner tanks. Yeah, mbuna are a nice colourful and active collection of fish to have. Agressive, but a good excuse to pack as many fish into a tank as possible Off the top of my head, bigger'ish fish (upto 6" mark) that I personally like a lot are spanner barb (Puntius lateristriga), Filement barb (Puntius filamentosus) although a little manic, Black ruby barb (Puntius nigrofasciatus), congo tetra (Phenacogrammus interruptus), blue rainbow fish (Melanotaenia lacustris), boesemani Ranbows (Melanotaenia boesemani). Lots really. I tend to stear clear of some of the popular types like tiger barbs, unless you have a batch of atleast 9 or 10, they are too nippy, especially to long finned stuff like guppys. The same goes for stuff like Buenos Aires tetras. As far as the black shark goes, I would expect her to have atleast another 25 years in her. The clown loaches in the video are about 10 years old and around 7"-8", and I know they have been recorded to 40 years plus and reaching 13"-14". Generally, the bigger the fish, the longer the expected life span.
  19. Top wishbones are a pretty easy DIY job, there is a link in my sig to a tutorial I did for it so that may help. As long as you have a decent enough baljoint splitter, the rest is easy enough. Bottom ball joints I have a new pair, but not fitted yet. Maybe when the warmer weather comes. Not aware of any play, but got a pair while they were cheap. I will do a tutorial when the time comes. There is a turotial on here some where from the IS200, and the process is the same. As for which to change, only way to go would be all of them if there is play. I would definately only change the bottom arms if there is play. They are the most expensive part, especially if you need the bottom trailing arm too. The subframe has to be dropped as part of that job.
