  1. ect stands for Electronically Controlled Transmission and puts the auto box into a kind of Sport mode where it holds the gears for longer and kicks down earlier and quicker.
  2. When you put the switch in winter/snow position, do the wipers move up and park a few inches up?
  3. As above, the gaskets are cheap enough. If it is the join from the down pipe to the main exhaust pipe, it is reasonably common and an easy fix.
  4. Strange. The old site always worked fine, just the one that didn't, I'll check again later.
  5. Nice work on the forum upgrade guys. I used to use LOC whilst on the train to London using my iPhone. I found yesterday when I tried it that the way it come sup on the iphone is like a plain text version of the site (like the old Lo-Fi versions). As a result, there is no "new posts" button so it is pretty much unusable unless you go into each sub forum to look at everything. Is there a simple way round this to get the proper full website to come up, or do I give up using it on the iPhone? Cheers
  6. Getting the dash out is not too big a job (see my sig for a link to my dash removal tutorial). Not sure to what extent you would need to dismantle the clocks once out as you may be able to get the needle off from the front with the clear cover removed. I've read somewhere that the needle can be repaired by soldering a single strand of wire from one end of the needle to the other to allow the current to flow again (the problem seems to be a broken track running along the back of the needle). Never tried it myself, but worth a shot if you can't track down a replacement working needle. I know there was a full dash for same on ebay recently, but that may have gone by now. Good luck.
  7. I did a tutorial on this, follow this link clicky There are some my other tutorials in my signature
  8. If the belt is slipping, won't it be slipping all the time? The steering noise is only when turning the wheels, or would this put more stress on the belt and possibly cause it to slip and creak? Yup, there is more strain when the steering is being turned, especially at full lock.
  9. The copies normally have a narrower core, 16mm instead of 25mm or something like that, but work perfectly well.
  10. Have you checked if the belt is slipping? Get someone to turn lock to lock while you watch and listen to the belt. If it appears to stop or slip, you may need a new belt or tensioner.
  11. Hope these help. Mine has two different types of bulb holder, yours will probably just have the grey ones. Panel lifted. Two connectors. One for the pwr/etc switch, one for the selector illumination panel. Underside of illumination panel.
  12. The only engines that radweld cannot be used on is the honda 2.7 V6 units, so it won't damage anything if used correctly. However, from experience, once the rad starts leaking, you are not far away from a big failure so I would agree with above and change the rad.
  13. Just had a look, mine is on the drive A quick look up the street and it seems the google van must've been going past when our new cooker was being delivered
  14. Yeah, the calipers are (that's what I have done), but are the caliper carriers?
  15. I picked up my old caliper carriers from Derby yesterday. If you PM me your details I stick the OS one in the post. Do you have paypal for the postage costs?
  16. If it is similar to the GS300 top wishbone, you can jack under the bottom wishbone to compress the spring slightly, the bolts then line up through the coils and come out without removing the shocker unit.
  17. You could try looking at Aldermore Bank who I am currently working for on a contract.
  18. I am currently on contract to Aldermore Bank plc, who do commercial mortgages. No idea if they are good or not though as I don't have a commercial mortgage.
  19. Not sure either. I have the calipers on my car, so I know they are interchangeable, but I didn't try test fitting the carriers.
  20. If you follow the link in my sig to the "AC Panel Bulbs", the first part of the tutorial will show how to remove the panel. There are two multiway plugs under the panel once you lift it up, just unplug them and remove from the car. There are a couple of phillips screws from what I remember holding a cover on underneath, remove those and the two bulbs are then obvious. I can do a couple of pics over the weekend if you need anything else.
  21. Cant see any pics mate (just says I don't have permissions if I click the links) :(
  22. That's interesting. Only Autoleads made a fascia when I was looking so maybe Connects2 have only just started making it. No idea if it is left/right hand drive from any of the lists I've looked at, it would have to be an email to connects2 or the ebay seller I guess. The difference is the slope on the sides of the head unit fascia as it isn't symetrical. You were right just measured it up with my old one and it is for left hand drive :tsktsk: Sorry to hear you've been fleeced on that fascia mate :(
