  1. The braking 'feel' is different on the IS300H as the gearbox itself is a generator to charge the battery pack. So when the ECU knows that the car is coasting it will activate a clutch in the gearbox and magnets spin up like a dynamo to produce charge. I am a fan of big brakes as I have fitted Alcon, Brembo, Spoon, Endless, Project Mu and AP Racing to cars but however these were 400whp onwards. I personally wouldn't on the IS300H is more of a cruiser/econ model compared the IS350 and IS200T - I would focus the cash for other priorities like saving up to get the thing serviced lol.
  2. I'll have a go and using a da trying to get it out.. However noticed the drivers side also has a pin dent.. Looks like its surface however just wiping it with a mild alcohol didn't work. Tbh lexus Twickenham was a pita to get to and also the workshop was a few miles down the road so they had to get a driver to take it down there. No reason was given and just said this is not under warranty.. I dont think I'll be servicing mine there this year.
  3. About 3 hours to do and careful cutting. Quite impressed
  4. Not the best as its raining and out and about. Got it wrapped in Surrey and it costs 200 quid..
  5. Ahoy! Phase one complete of dechroming the chrome bits.. More OEM plus look soon.. Just waiting on the courier. 3M 1080 Gloss black in case you guys are curious.. The rear is just another gratuitous shot of the 2017 non hybrid rear end..
  6. Me too I've always owned , modded, repaired Hondas and since my old Accord 2.4 Type S was written off there were no other saloons I fancied so I bought a 2016 Is300h F sport and I am pleasantly surprised.
  7. Ah well apart from a fancy nespresso coffee the answer was in my eyes a "get lost" lol
  8. I use a decent brand dual USB for the 12v socket, as my handset is equipped with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 the charger I use has the fast charge chipset and charges a full batt in 60mins. Be careful with ebay chargers thats cheap - I'm in the Accessories Telecoms Industry for 20 years as a senior buyer that deals with the Far East and the samples I get to test in the office I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. The CE certification, RoHS, FCC etc are most likely to be fake to fool consumers, as each testing certification from reputable testing houses like Intertek and SGS costs the factories probably 4k USD per report/certification. Best to go with brands like Anker, Belkin or the actual phone manufacturers themselves as they will factor in this cost when doing their due diligence in factory auditing. However the caveat is, you must buy these brands from reputable outlets like big retailers or Amazon (direct not marketplace) and as you've guessed it, the chinese has smartened up and COPIES the originals as well. I've had simple things like datacables go up in smoke due to the crap materials they use to save a quick buck. Mains chargers and powerbanks? Thats a whole new story and I usually select factories that has credibility as I do not want deaths on my conscience (this is no exaggeration either).
  9. Ah good shout - you should be able to see that in the My Lexus portal under accessories for your car. I pointed out that I had the protection pack and the rubber mats were missing. It took a while but fair play to the dealer who sent them to me...
  10. Heres what mine says... "Model Description - IS 300h F Sport Lhr PNav Pro" I've got premier nav and premium leather if that helps.. I assume you have either or both?
  11. Doubt it mate as the yanks have been trying from what I have seen to no avail... some extremes they bought the complete bumper!
  12. I used a mild cleaner and it wont 'rub' off.. but coming back to my principles I can get them out if I tried with compound etc but as the car is still "young" I will let Lexus try and sort it out..
  13. Well I have booked in an appointment at Lexus Twickenham on Friday and see what they say...
  14. Ahoy! On my 2016 F Sport I can see 'rusty spots' on the metal front scuff plates. Before I go and challenge Lexus about it - Has anyone else suffered this? I could attempt to polish it out but since the car is under 2 years old the stubborn side of me is asking 'why should I!'.. Cheers
  15. I should have rephrased and said.. "lexus approved" as each dealer has there preferred bodyshop for their repairs.
  16. I've had experience when I was involved in a non fault. My insurance company didn't care about anything apart from "Has the third party called" or " Do not speak to them if they do". It was my first time dealing with claims and I thought it was very fishy until my mate who's ironically a claims solicitor gave me the lowdown on how this game all works.. Accident Management/Credit Hire firms called me around 10pm as the accident happened around 6 in the evening extremely keen to get things going and no need to pay excess as "we will claim directly from the third party" Extremely keen I hear you say or great customer service? Well if they lent you a courtesy car (like for like a saloon for example) The daily rate is around £250! where the car hire company like Enterprise etc rents it out to them for around 30 quid/day... And obviously there legal assistance, injury assistance etc etc to cook up claims on the third party.. :) When I went direct and highlighted the fact I 'could' have went with the appointed accident management company so I am hoping that you will be 'fair' in how you will deal with me. So the third party took all my details, asked me to email them images of the damage, and a car hire company delivered a brand new (300 miles on the clock) Mondeo ST Line (not bad) the next day to my house.. 3 days later they offered a 'settlement' as 'compensation' as my car was 14 years old and deemed a write off the sum was very fair as my car was high mileage AND I also kept the car as the third party did not want to take it back as salvage so I ebayed the car for extra money towards my new IS300H :) Hope this helps
  17. Me too lol.. bit of a rip off if you ask me. My package from Japan arrived and have plenty to replace if any thieving scroats nick more :-)
  18. Inform your insurance company but don't action anything. Contact her company first and log a claim, they will contact her to ask her whether shes liable. If she does admit guilt. her insurance company will take care of everything from a courtesy car to repair. Also if you insist you get it fixed by Lexus they will probably authorise it. If you DO claim even a non fault with your own insurance company, an appointed Accident Management Company will be dealing with you and they will provide you the courtesy car etc but will skin her insurance company alive with extortionate charges - Thats how they make money. If you go direct with her company even if they fulfill all your requests like fixed by Lexus etc they will probably still save money. So they will be very cooperative to you if you did. Its all a numbers game!
  19. Hello matey garage is in North weald (near Epping and Harlow) My best mate and super creative with solutions..
  20. Ah now I get yer. Prefacelift with the rectangular or round? With the Aimgain I assume upon installation its been chopped already! If you want to take a trip to Essex my best pal who owns a garage and did mine can take a look and try and think of a solution without destroying more bits lol
  21. No mate getting old long gone are the days of performance mods - I'll let the young un's do that :), However am toying with the idea of adding Blind spot monitoring and if I can scrabble the components at a fair price without selling a kidney that will be my next project as I have noticed the BSM loom there when I took the bumper off. So you have a genuine Aimgain diffuser with the diverter pipes that clamp on to your rear boxes? Whats your setup for the rear end at the moment? bit confused on what you got and planned lol
  22. I just recently had a non fault shunt that wrote off my car. If the accident was non fault I would go directly to the third party for a claim. The only setback is, if the other driver denies responsibility, it could drag on a while. Whilst my accident happened outside my house (my car was parked) it was cut and dry case as the car that hit my car flipped over on its side and police had to be at the scene. It is legally required for you to inform your insurance company and more than likely refer you to their 'Partner' who is an Accident Management Company. These guys will not charge you excess as they will find every expense and claim against the third party. Car hire for example they will bill them 200 quid a day to get every penny out of the third party (thats how they make money). I told my insurance company NOT to proceed until I think about it and get back to them In my case I went direct to the third party and they were more than accommodating as I went to them first (I saved them ALOT of money). had a hire car the next day (brand new Mondeo ST Line), offered me a settlement within 7 days which was more than enough to write my car off. If its a non fault and the third party was guilty, their insurance will be at your mercy for NOT using an accident management company and they will do at your request for genuine parts etc as I said before you saved them a bomb in the long run..
  23. Next challenge is sourcing the correct cluster!
  24. Any chance of asking the previous keeper whether they knew? I doubt it will be complicated to fix. Just need to know where it was rewired (normally in the boot) and work backwards.
