So what does that mean? I also had my water pump changed at the same time I had my cam belt done...

Hi guys,
I’m getting a weird noise from my car when I take off in 1st gear there seems to be a crackling noise sometimes it is louder than other times though. This problem only occurs when the engine ss up to temperature and can only really hear it in heavy traffic.
Any ideas what is causing this? I’ve recently had the cambelt changed, I don’t know if that is related? The engine it self is fine, performance is good and the engine light is not on or anything. My car is an 02 SE with 74k
Thanks,
Anil

So there won't be any increased performance between these and the OEM discs?

Hi guys I was looking at front discs and I found these brembo discs on eBay (item no 230222001136)? Just wondering if the seller can be trusted, seems a bit cheap? If so, anyone tried them before?

What about the OEM brake pads? Are the Mintex pads better?

Coolant capacity is 7.1 litres see Here so that would be give or take how much should have gone in.
Is there any coolant in the reservoir? It is possible to do a water pump without draining all the coolant off, though I would take the opportunity to flush the system and change it anyway.
So the guy could have changed the water pump and only lost a bit of coolant? How much coolant would you think would have been needed to replace? Before it went in the coolant looked quite new. What would happen if I didn't flush the coolant?

Hi guys,
I recently had my water pump changed along with my cambelt and other bits. I bought a big bottle of Toyota coolant pre-mixed and I was wondering how much is needed to refill the car when the water pump is changed? It seems the guy that did it only put half the bottle in? Is that right? Or may he have mixed the pre-mixed coolant with more water? If so what should I do?

Hi guys,
I'm just wondering if anyone knows where I can get a water pump today for my is200 before the end of today at a reasonable price?
Thanks,
Anil

Here's a pic of the head unit finally installed. Not the best picture in the world but it gives you an idea.
Close-up of the new fascia after sanding/painting etc. I don't think I did too bad a job getting it closer to the look of the factory plastic. Is that a fingerprint I can see on it though ?
I've changed my head unit too recently, but the bottom panel underneath the head unit with the heated seats button keeps coming loose on one side and popping out. Did you have this problem too?

I'm in north east London, butI don't really mind traveling anywhere in London as long as I'm getting a good deal and and good quality. How much did they charge you?
-
Hi guys,
I'm just wondering where the best place for quality and price to change the cambelt in London? I already have all the parts.
Thanks,
Anil

I was looking at the American eBay site and found this exhaust -

Item no 300271421159
What about this exhaust? Has anyone got experience with this exhaust?

Oh ok, yeah I did phone Toyota they were asking 15 quid each plus vat, which is just way too much considering I only paid 25 quid for each of the wheels seems ridiculous to pay that much for a bit of plastic. I just can't find these centre caps anywhere except for from the dealer...

Hi guys,
I've been looking for these anthracite centre caps, with no luck, but I was wondering if there were any other Lexus centre caps that would fit in the 11 spoke wheels?
-
Hi guys,
I see you paid £102 for your water pump, I also need to change my cambelt and was looking online for water pumps, I found the following two on eBay, I just wanted to make sure they were correct and not a dodgy part?

and

not sure about thos mate, i think most people on here have just used T5 bulbs that have the harness (or whatever its called) already attached
Yeah, I used the same harness in the dials, I put the bulbs in them, but doesn't seem to work
-
I've changed my LEDs, but the smaller bulbs that I used for the fuel gauge bit and the low revs doesn't appear to be working, but I used the same bulb type for my ignition barrel and that works fine. Anyone got any ideas? I tried turning the bulbs around but didn't seem to make much of a difference.
The bulbs I used are (item no 200290951444)

I need to change my Cambelt but also the powersteering pulley squeaks now and then and I'm thinking of replacing the alternator ac and power steering pulley. I found an eBay item (250214443346) listed below are these the correct part for my 02 is200?

As wozza says..
There is lead on the ignition barrel, i think its green, that is linked to the imobilizer..
sounds like thats disconnected...
another member, who i wont name, assured me he had connected this when we were working in his car and found he hadnt and had the same problem..
this was after trying evertyhing else to star the car!!
That was it! I had forgot to plug the green wire back in lol. Thank god it was so minor, I was getting worried.
Thanks everyone for your help!

Sounds to me something is still disconnected or not plugged fully home ?
My dial has been out numerous times, and you do have to be quite firm to ensure the plugs are seated correctly.
So have you had the problem where your engine wont start when the connections are loose? I was sure I connected everything in correctly, used quite a bit of force and all the dials work, light up showing the mileage and the petrol amount? So surely the wires are connected properly? Or not?
-
Hi guys,
I changed the LEDs in my dials when I put it all back together and tried to start it again, it just wouldn't start. It sounded like it usually does when it starts up, but it sounds like the cars not getting petrol and not starting? I drove the car twice earlier and when I tried to start the engine after changing the dials the engine was still slightly warm. I don't understand, could I have damaged something in the dial binacle which doesn't allow the car to start?
Thanks for your responces in advance, any help is much appreciated.

I think I've got the same problem on my is200, it has 74k mileage and when I go over bumps the car wobbles a bit, especially the back end. Did you find out what the problem was with yours?

can you recommend some?

What discs are you getting and from where?
