Nooooo .With that sort of budget you should get a very nice mk1 sport or a very high mileage mk2 se personaly i would go for the mk1 with lower miles .It will hold its value better than the higher mileage mk2 as well .cambelt is 60,000 and look out for steering vibration as it seems to be a common problem.other than that if you go for the sport check the tyres as they are exspensive especialy if it has the 10" rears.If you are not sure wether the belt has been done just phone the dealer in the service book who has done the servicing and they will tell you.Good luck

  3. If you use Tonbridge lexus you will save nothing as they do not accept gold .You would have to take it to another garage like bromley who i think accept it and save around 15% i think.I think i am thinking to much

  7. Did not buy it in the end and bought one of them plug into the lighter type ones ,works ok but because my van is diesel you get a lot of noise from the engine

  14. I would have bought the volvo V70 T5R estate lots of space ,tons of power and very safe for the kiddies,and as my wife say's if i buy one in black and work drys up i can always lease it out as a he**** :D .(coffin carrier)why was that edited its not a swear word

  16. They don't come with leather because they don't have the obsession with leather that we do in Europe. Why is it so raved about in the UK? It's freezing in winter, too hot and sticky in summer, smells, creaks and you have to look after it more than cloth. I agree apart from try wiping baby sick and sticky sweets of velour :D

  18. Just a thought but have the auto lights got a seprate fuse would be easier to take this out.seems strange though that the system works with the ignition off ,is anything else live with it off
  19. Quite even at the moment i thought the MK2 would get much more votes just go's to show the mk1 still has something
  20. I now it is not a complete solution but what about taking out sensers for the auto lights and rewiring so they are constantly off,might only be a case of joining two wires, could it not be the sensers at fault .
  21. was the flat battery caused by the auto lights comming on again
