  1. i have the same phone as you matthew and so do's my wife .the problem could be that i sited the main control box in the drivers footwell so could it be maybe that it is to far from the phone ??
  2. What tyres you got on yours steve
  3. Keith they are pirreli p zero's asimmetrico 245/40/18 ,just checked the receipt and i have done 11,000 miles on them and they have at least 10,000 miles left on them.they are from quick fit at chatham and cost £450 for four including balance etc .had to do some phoning to get that price and sort of played one place of against the other .
  4. One thing i forgot to mention is that with my phone in my pocket it will not find the bluetooth kit in the car ,and as the kit did not come with a cradle i had to buy one of them magnet jobbies .
  5. Agree with dobedo one hundred percent ,seems to be a few members cars for sale that knock spots of that one .Just the fact that it is wet when the pics were taken would put me of ,if i was ever selling a car with iffy paintwork the hose would come out for the pics and about 10 mins before anyone veiwed it .Have a look though can't hurt to give it the once over we could be wrong and you might miss out on a corker :).good four hour drive if not more from manchester though
  6. It aint to keen on the cockney accent either :D . I also bought a handfree bluetooth headset made by plantronics ??for the van and to be honest find it better than the full kit for sound quality etc .Only problem is you look like one of madonas backing singers with it on :P
  7. Always had mine done at quick fit and pirrelli's were £100 pound each last time, just done 10'000 miles on them as well and they are worn agout 40% if that.you must be heavy on the throttle .Are yours the big 10" or the standard ones like mine
  8. i have the hb-30 kit and it has been realy good ,find the voice ativation a bit hit and miss .fitted it myself and was easy but as you say a different story with the sat nav etc in the gs430
  9. i got the road angel 1 and has been a1 ,i beleive the mk2 is much better .
  10. I have just bought a driveway monitor ,it gives out a very loud beeping noise as soon as anyone comes onto your drive .drives you a bit mad though at 6.30 in the morning when the paper boy brings the paper, but gives piece of mind knowing that as soon as anyone come onto drive it go's of
  11. Well my van has been written of twice once cat b and five weeks ago cat c ,never had to put it through a sperate mot or test and never had to return or apply for a new log book, bought hundreds of write offs over the years and the only test i know of is one to have a note put on the register to say it has been repaired to a good standard.there are a few garages that do this but in my opinion you would struggle to put even non write offs through as the test is very thorough.in answer to your last question yes it is harder to sell a written of car as most members of the public will run a mile a soon as they hpi the car ,it is also ileagle not to admit to the car having had damage if asked by the buyer ,but you do not have to declare this if not asked ,but to be honest i always do as it is not worth the grief when they come back to you when they do find out .
  12. I see someone do that yesterday in a citron c3 down in folkstone they had managed to reverse it full speed right through the front of the house, looked raly wierd sticking out the front door
  13. I have tried loads as well and they all squeak, also find the size and quality of the mk1 wipers crap remind me off my old kit car they seem to leave lots of the window unwiped
  14. Sure there must be claire as i would have thought the part is shared by other cars like the supra etc,but i could be wrong.
  15. :o are they made out of gold that is a rip of for a wheel bearing is there not a pattern part avaliable.
  16. surely that floor would crack the first heavy thing that fell on it and how do's he jack cars up on it ,hate to see his hourly rate as lexus charge enough to pay for there poncey workshops .
  17. tried the sitting in the boot trick but had no joy so presumed it must be hidden by trim, pete the boot under spare wheel looks fine all beit a little damp.think norkeps suggestion sounds the more likely as i have slight water marks in this area when i took of the trim so the silicone will come out tomorrow and fingers crossed will do the job, as the thought of all that water so close to the stereo equipment amp etc was doing me in
  18. just wonderd if any other mk1 gs owners have had this problem ,the spare wheel space has an inch of water sloshing around,i have removed the water and taken out one of the drain plugs ,on inspection of the rubber boot seal that seems fine and the rear lights seem seated well so am at a loss as to were it could be comming in ,any advice appreciated
  19. Black would be my choice ,but the silver will be easier to clean and will not show the marks as much ,resale they both are good colours but would think that the black would edge it as silver ones will flood the market in a few years as it is the in colour at the moment were as black will always sell .
  20. Look on the bright side the passat will be quicker and better on fuel
  21. I can imagine RX men 8 at B&Q right now ."Can i have a pack of loose stanley blades please "
  22. When i first got my car the dealer had to change the rear discs as they were warped ,it had only done 29,000 miles at the time .how can rear discs wear out that quick the previous owner must have been driving with the handbrake on .i have had vans that have covered 150,000m and still on there first set of discs and they have been carrying far more weight than any car .I am starting to think lexus have a lot more problems with their cars than most people think it seems that every day someone has a problem that seems to arise again and again ,why have they not adressed these niggles ,and if i was to change the discs on my car i know for sure it would not be with a lexus part
  23. sold at last ,did you get a good price for it.Must admit i sometimes miss the build quality of the v/w ,i have had a couple of passats and they are a very well put toghether car but very boring to look at,did you go for the 110 bhp
