If the car was owned by a company it has probaly been serviced and the book not stamped .they do this a lot as the book and paperwork is sometimes kept at the office rather than in the car ,phone the dealer that has done the other work they might have it on record that the other services have been done . To be honest if your instincts say no i would leave it. unless the price is that good and allows for you to put right any work that might arise ,what about an aa report on the car.or even better phone the insurance company that used to own it and ask them what it was like etc.

always had mine serviced by my local lexus garage but after todays terrible service from there customer service department i will be using my local non franchise garage .they send me a letter stating that my mot is due on the 22nd jan and further to there recent phone call would i like to book it in .now for one i have had no phone call and when i rang them to book it in i relised whilst looking through my service record that infact the mot had run out on the 6th jan meaning i had been driving around for a week with no mot .now i would useally blame myself for not looking at the previous mot which was also done by them as was the one before but decided to trust there records and presume it was due on the 22nd as stated in there letter and the non exsistent phone call. so to answer your question i would go to an independent garage and save yourself loads of dough . thanks lexus -------(you know who you are) for your crap service over the last couple of years ,the only thing you got right and did properly was selling me the car in the first place ,and you can stick your free mot i had it done today at the garage up the road and they did not keep me waiting for an hour whilst you sneaked it around the back to the toyota garage.

chips away is an option to repair it they charge about £60 for a repair like that

realy like that ,bit out of my budget though,have been thinking about the XK8 instead of the lex for a while now some real bargains to be had on those .if i can live with the bits falling of that is

mind you mine is gonna cause a bit of greif when i sell it as it states green and is very silver and no were near the colour green as it states on the log book

Just renewed mine and tesco is still the cheapest at £500 next up was more than at £700 and all the rest were dearer all around the £800 mark.that is with 9 years ncb the wife as a named driver and car on the drive , my postcode also helps as it falls within maidstones area,i think the mk2 is in a lower group than the mk1 so tesco might be a good bet for you if the value of the car is not a great factor in valuation :shutit:

could be lots of things i would book it into lexus for them to give it the once over before the warrenty runs out

upgraded google bar to version 5.7 and still get them,brettster i tried to download microsoft anti spyware software but it will not let me due to the fact i have a moody copy of windows xp ,cant even downlaod service pack 2 because of this .not that i have any space left to put it on

I can not stop pop ups especialy one from ebay that is driving me crackers ,have been on my computor for 30 mins and have 20 pop ups most of them ebay and some other one .i have google pop up blocker enabled and norton and mcfee and i am still getting them .also i have 0% space left on my hard drive and it realy need sorting ,anyone know of a good pc person in the kent area .thanks in advance for any help :mat:

well that what car site values my gs300 at £6000 so think i will be keeping it forever ,also gives my car 2 out of 5 for reliabilaty which is a load of crap as i have had it two years and it has not missed a beat

Me to ,mer is ok but would not use it all the time as it contains a cutting compound and is a bit harsh .

Go with the focus it is with out a doubt the better car ,and it drives a lot better than some much dearer and so called prestige cars ,quicker to ,only problem is at 4k you might not get a good example in ghia trim.i would go for the 1.8 zetec .always ask the owner if it is the hatchback as some people do not mention they are selling the booted version in there ad and you might have a wasted drive :)

got pulled a few times in mine a few years back and changed them back to the proper typeface just became to much hassle . got pulled up twice on tuesday within the space of a mile by two different coppers on the m25,first for being overweight and the second for pulling off the motorway onto a bridge above to answer my phone,got let of both times thankfully ,wouldent mind but an hour before this happend i had witnessed an old bloke jamm his foot down on the accelerater whilst doing a three point turn and ramm into a wall then bounce of that and go flat out acroos the road ramming the car in front of me ,he then continued to floor it pushing the other car 5 foot up the kerb until i jump through from the passenger side and grabed his keys .think i will stay at home next tuesday just to be on the safe side.

I took two today from a garage i was clearing, but it was raining and there was no one about so maybe i was lucky .perhaps phone in advance to find out

I have driven the focus and thought it was a very good drive ,handles realy well ,it was the 1.8 ghia i think and me and the missus realy enjoyed the two weeks we had it .

So what next then ,will we have to have a qualified lexus mechanic out to inspect your car whenever you do a mod or fix a problem (diy).after all dogdy brakes cost lives to.i can understand the logic behind it but realy feel it is another case of goverment double standards and all it will do is make a lot of electricians a lot richer than they all ready are .
