  1. Have my headunit back after repair and have noticed that it doesn't seem to be recieving the RDS signal from any radio station. Channel name is not coming up on the screen. I'm sure I saw the channel name on it once since it's return, but nothing now.

"RDS" is not coming up on the screen either.

    Any ideas folks ??

  3. Been having a problem with the fuel gauge on my 2000 reg. IS. Not a major issue just a bit annoying thats all. Went into a local breaker yesterday and came across a 2002 IS. Asked the guy in charge if I could try the cluster from the 2002 in my 2000 to see if it would cure my problem.

Anyway I put in the cluster from the 2002 and the fuel gauge and all warning lights worked perfectly except for the ABS warning light was on. Reset the ECU but still had the ABS light on.

Plugs at the back of the clusters were identical, only difference in clusters that I could see was the MPG gauge and the TEMP gauge were the opposite way around.

My question is this, was the 2002 cluster faulty or are they just not compatible ?

So near and yet so far ....... it even had the right mileage on it .....

  4. Company here in Ireland (Dublin) called "Lawless Automotive" they repair and sell all kinds of in-car entertainment. After my recent adventures with a set of jump leads, I finally got my stereo back today from the above mentioned . Blown microprocessor (€120+VAT), got it working and discovered faulty CD mechanism (long story).

TotaL cost for repair €533.45. Feeling a bit sore at the moment ..........

Anyway, back to the ERR 3 problem. Your stereo should be covered by the extended 5 year warranty on the stereo from Lexus. (precisely because of this problem)

    Good luck,

    hi m8

now thats the 1 i want how much was it is i`m not being 2 cheeky lol :zee: :o

I think it worked out at around £180, not too sure though. And it was a group buy.

Try and contact Carson Toyota direct. As far as I remember Steve Gantz is the guy to contact. Minimum numbers also required. (10 I think)

    Hope this helps you out.

  6. Have a dead stereo after a little accident with a set of jump leads !!!!!

Blew a main fuse and three other smaller fuses. All replaced now and everything is working fine, but stereo is dead. Clock won't hold the time either. Every time ignition is switched off clock resets to 1:00 . Have checked all fuses in passenger and drivers footwells, as well as under bonnet.

Have checked leads coming to rear of stereo and have power coming to the headunit (constant and switched)

Going to disassemble headunit tomorrow to see if I can locate an internal fuse.

Any advice, suggestions or info. would be appreciated.

    franmac.
