Welcome to LOC.

Don't really know much about it matey but sure I read somewhere putting different springs on standard shocks makes the rear unstable, think it was in the brakes and suspension section.
If the shocks are up to it, they shouldn't do (e.g. why would Lexus sell something like that ?), but you'd have to obviously get your proper geometry settings recovered or I imagine the handling would be awful. I'm getting my springs fitted at WIM on Thursday, so will get the geo reset there too, can't wait ! :D
Thinking back mate it i'm sure it was only a problem if you go lower than 40mm, should be much better with the geo set up properly aswell mate, what drop are going for 35mm or 40mm.

Mines a 99 SE and it's mega high at the rear, aparently it's not worth just changing the springs tho as it messes up the handling so best to do shocks aswell, so might aswell get coilcovers.
I think it probably depends on the state of your shocks, i.e. how worn they are so how well they will stand up to the increased demands of running on lowering springs.
I'm getting my TTE springs later this week. My car has done just under 60K miles, so I'm hoping that my shocks will be fine to handle the springs.

All looks amazin matey :D great stuff B)
Cheers matey :D
I let my brother have a go today and it brought back a few memories from when he had his IS200 S/C, said mine handles like a go-cart
The joy of coilcovers eh matey, mine handles like an oil tanker

Looks like you've done a floody good job there mate, nice work on the filter section :D B)
You seem to have a big gap above the manifold on yours too :P
Thanks Chris, not as happy with the L badge, you can't really see in the pics but it's abit crappy, quite pleased with the silver stripes tho on the filter housing, noticed my K&N needs a clean and oil while it was off tho.
I'm saving that space for when you get a turbo :P

Deffo 60k mate, don't know if they'll do it for free tho can't hurt to ask.
-
60k or 6 years, think it used to be 100k and 10 years but then they changed it, so if it's not been done i'd deffo get it done sooner rather than later mate.

Yeah went abit mad :duh: still looks lighter in the pics that it actually is, must be me being crap with a camera :P

Done the rest, still need a couple of coats of lacquer but it's not come yet and I needed the car today.
Need to have a tidy up in the bay now, give it a good clean and what not, need to move those ballast's aswell.
-
Looking good matey, B) you'll want that engine bay cleaning soon
Someone did say they'd do it for me, wonder who that was
Just primed all the other covers so will let them bake abit over night in the boiler cupboard and then spray them tomorrow :D

Happy birthday fella have a great day :D

I to have been doing this in another shade of blue lol...
It is actually abit darker than it looks in the pic, must have just been the light.
I'm still after a replacement one of these because this ones crumbling, hopefully 3 coats of primer, 3 coats of paint and 3 coats of lacquer (when it comes) will help keep it in one piece a bit more, might do a couple more bits today as I don't really need the car over rthe weekend.
-
Started painting the covers off the engine today, just started with the one with VVTI on to see how I got on, need to do the rest next week now when I don't have to use the car for a day or so, was going to go blue and white but decided on silver to save messing about with the silver bits on the air filter box.
I'm quite pleased considering it was a 1st effort, what do you think? more pics when the other bits are done.
Oh thanks to Cous3 for the idea.

Yeah the bulbs just a straight swap matey, as I say just be carefull when seperating the a/c unit and you'll be fine.
-
What about spending the last 2 years restoring a Lex to what it should be because a previouse muppet owner had a bump then totally messed up the repair to save a few quid, nearly there now tho :D
-
Not sure about the Nav matey but don't be scared of taking the a/c unit apart just do it slowly and carefully, i've had my new unit apart a few times now no probs, the existing bulbs have holders so just turn out, it's just a case of either soldering the new bulbs in place or putting new bulbs into existing holders, the soldering route does provide better results tho.

We'll see :P
Lacquer came this morning so give it a good coating with that and the missus has took it out now so hopefully any burnoff smoke will clear before I drive it next, i'll let her get the funny looks.
Need to get some chrome caliper stickers now, can I still get them off here?
