I have a similar problem. Mine is from the front right, occurs when going around a left hand bend, over a few bumps and often when going down hill
Sometimes It doesnt happen. If I leave the car facing up the drive over night,on a slight incline I can reverse off and drive to work (7 miles)before it slowly kicks in.
If I park it facing down the drive it will knock from the start. The knock has a distinctive sound, almost 'metallic' (metal on metal) rather than a thump..sounds like something loose but I cant find anything neither can Lexus...
MInes more like a thump it feels like somethings loose and knocking about but I can't find anything. I'll give pushing the splash gaurd back a try. Are the disks supposed to be loose and held in place by the wheel rather than secured any other way maybe i've got the wrong disks.
Just tried pushing the splash gaurd back but it's stil the same, can feel it through the accelarator pedal and slightly through the steering, seems worse when the cars warm, I think i'll get my tyres checked make sure there ok.

is it only one knock ar a series of them?? also would it happen to be on LH bends?
It's a series of knocks and seem worse on LH bends.

Over the past 2 weeks my IS has developed an annoying rattle/knock, it only happens going round bends at lowish speeds but I can feel it through the accelarator pedal, it feels like something is stuck to one of my tyres but there fine, i've had the car jacked up and took all the covers off the bottom to check the engine mounts, balljoints, bushers, track rod ends, steering rack, gear box, and so on everything seems fine, could it just be warped tyres or is there something i've missed? it's really annoying any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

hmmm, there was not spring loaded shim anywhere i don't think.
literally just the one pin and a clip at the end of it to hold it in place. then there was just room to slot the pads in....noting on top of it though....
Hi, there is a clip thingy(anti squeel clip) thats fits over the pads underneath the caliper if this is missing then they will rattle, I know because mines missing and I can't get one anywhere apart from Lex who can only sell me it as part of a kit for £20 odd quid.

Just checked my cam belt to see if it needs replacing, happy days it was done less than 10k ago, belt and tensioners B)

Alright Jamie, type (Mintex brake pads Lexus) into e-bay, i've just seen them for £17.99 buy it now for rear pads £33ish for front.
-
Mintex are the best pads in my experience you can get them on e-bay about £60 for the set, but you can get discs and pads together for just a little bit more, may be worth looking at doing.

Jason's spot on, looks harder than it is, bit more tricky to fit the by-pass lead, you have to take the plastic covers off in the foot well underneather the glove box to get at the amp properly, unless you've got tiny hands then you might be able to get at through glove box, I had to unsrew amp from it's brackets to fit mine.
-
Cheers.
-
Amp by-pass lead £30 odd off e-bay, facia plate £15 odd off e-bay, aftermarket stereo of your choice, thats what I did, if you get another oem stereo chances are it'll break again.
Only thing if you get aftermarket stereo you may have to change speakers if you have your music at ear-bleeding levels.

Cheers will stick to Denso's.
What about oil? is Magnatec good enough?
-
Alright Si, it came colour coded (blue) they have them pre-painted in specific colours, I think, Blue, Black, Plat ice?,Green?. and nasty Red. I gave my chassis number and it matched the blue they have, although it stands out a little bit because it's new paint, i'll have to give it a wash and polish.
Well worth £36:24 looks much better than the original grill.
-
Will do, i'll have to wash it first though.
-
Been and picked my sports grill up this morning and fitted it straight away, looks superb well happy ^_^ B)
-
Cheers will stick to Denso's.
-
Cheers Jamie i'll stick with the Denso's then.

Have a look at Kwik-Fit doing re-gas for about £45, they re-gas the system and if your cool air doesn't increase by 10% or more you don't have to pay, there also doing a system clean for £20.
-
Cheers, i'll have a look on there. What are Bosch super4 like are they any good?, I can get a full set for £15.

What are the best plugs to use? I'm going to do service very soon and want the best for my IS, also what oil is recommended I used to use magnatec in my 306Turbo Diesel which was great for that but were talking a new kettle of fish with the Lex, has anyone used the Castrol gold stuff which is about £36 is that worth it or shall I just stick to magnatec? my uncle puts magnatec in his Impreza STI and swears by it so if it's good enough for that then it should be fine for my Lex? :eerrrmm:
-
Glad to hear it B)
-
Nice one, good idea not to fit one then :duh: well done Lexus

So if there's no motion sensor does that mean someone can jack it up without the alarm going off?
-
I use the Flash thing with the polymer filter(whatever that means) but it seems to work when you filter dry the car it hardly leaves any water marks and avoids using chamois or cloths to much, when it's dry polish as normal.

What did you get instructions for, resetting fob or imobiliser? when I spoke to Lexus they went through the fob reset procedure over the phone with me.
If your resetting your fob did you manage to get it started?
