42 mpg, i'm guessing he only drives down hill

if it was me i'd definitely go for IS300, and I do plan to in the future, but not right now

i'm thinkin i'm wrong then lol, i have a pic with my car next to another and the other one is much darker, unless he also painted his bars black, but on some meet pics from a while ago mine is the same shade as most

even the later 3 bar grille came in more than one shade, unless my old one just needed a clean

actually parking for me isn't an issue and I am pretty good at it even if I do say so myself, but the issue was shortly after getting the car, and not thinkin of using snow mode to ease the power, as its an auto, other members will confirm how quickly the car can shoot back if not careful, even with the slightest touch of throttle, I learned the hard way 3 times lol

the other alternative is look for one of the darker ones on ebay, as they do sell quite cheaply, and sell yours on ebay adding a couple of quid to cover the rip off fees, and it should cost u next to nothing then and be easier than sanding all the little holes, lol

to be honest given the cars re-sale value, like many others we've lost thousands if we are thinkin of selling, so I try not to look at it like that but if I was to win a couple of grand i'd put everything right as its easier to spend the money putting it right if its not my hard earned cash, if that makes sense

at the time it was average, not expensive given the mileage, but not a bargain either :(

here I go setting myself up for a slating lol, 1. theres a scuff on the passenger seat base on the alcantara part 2. the rear seat has a scratch on the leather at one end, about 2-3 inches long 3. the scratches on the bronze part of the dash as previously mentioned 4. the body kit was badly fitted by the previous owner, by badly i mean bolted at the sides so they are visible :S 5. one front headlamp has been replaced so the older one looks yellow 6. Dent on the door, the black part that surrounds the window, near the B-pillar? (middle pillar) I to have accidentally added a few marks which i'm gutted about, these are as follows: 1. 3 (yes three :( ) seperate dents on the back bumper where I reversed into bollards (on seperate occasions ) 2. cracked rear skirt as a result of the above 3. scuffed front bumper mis judging clearance turning through a tight gap 4. damage to front lip as a result of above 5. hole in door card made with a long metal bar I was transporting, I closed the door on it 6. more scratches on the centre console when replacing the stereo (my brother caused those) and the scratches where it was keyed on 3 seperate panels, done by some local scrotes

how about converting an IS300 to LPG?

I will probably just leave it as theres a few other flaws, most of which I am ashamed to admit were on the car when I bought it and I simply didn't notice, but i knew nothing about buying cars when I bought it lol, and would probably cost too much to fix them all given the age and value of the car, which is a real shame as mechanically the car is bob on

yeh I love the standard sound, and my cd player still works 100%, getting more rare each time I post lol shame about my scratched dash tho :(

I had thought of cutting the bars off mine and black mesh, but never got round to it, and I was going to use the smaller L logo off a wheel centre cap instead of the standard size grille logo, although I couldn't decide whether to put the logo in the middle or near where the sport logo on the sport grille is, I may still give it a go sometime

I imagine the first hasn't had the belts etc done either, its still suprising how many people still don't know they need doin at 60k and not 100k, hence selling at 98k on the clock lol

seems to be narrowing down to late 2000 when they started to change things, I feel like my car is a little more rare now then :D so in late 2000 they changed the cd player, the passenger seat became electric does anyone have a 2001 with manual passenger seat then? then in 2001 they did the facelift with black dash instead of the bronze bit (cream glovebox and under centre console for cream interiors), piping on the seats etc

I painted the chrome edge of my standard grille green as my car is green, but the bars on my grille are very dark anyway, i'll link the thread shortly I assume you have the 4 bar grille where the bars are more grey? Edit: Linky

Interesting, it was never an option, do you have a top slot or bottom slot CD player? Some of the updates filtered in at different times, so yours might have been one of the intermediate cars mine was registered september 2000 X, if that helps, I have the top loading cd but I am sure these came in around 2000 anyway as i've seen a few, still got the horrible 2-tone dash which hasn't managed to remain scratch free :(

i imagine the electric passenger seat was available as extra then for earlier models as mine's a 2000...?

i've always been confused with the extras, sat nav parking sensors and body kits i just assumed you paid for extra, but some of the standard extras that changed over time confuses me... were the 11 spoke rims initially only for the LE? was the electric passenger seat an option too?

I don't suppose u have a pic of your brother's car with the kit fitted do you?

if I was offered 5.5 for my 2000 with 73k on i'd snatch their hand off, its not gonna be S with cream interior, anyway... i'd say £3.5k

well now its on here it'll probably fetch average money rather than be someone's secret bargain lol (I just got a set of 4 brand new original centre caps for my 11-spoke wheels for £20 :D )
