  1. if purchased online you are automatically taxed on the system even without a valid paper disc. you cannot get fined/clamped/crushed while you are waiting for your paper disc as its all on computer Is that true? I was under the impresion that you can still get done for not displaying a valid tax disc? thats why you can order it in advance so your always showing a valid one. 100% true. before a car is ticketed for no tax its checked against the computers. you may get questioned if an officer spots its out of date, but a quick check with the computers will show your covered and waiting for it in the post :winky: No its not unfortunately, it is an offence not to display tax, whether you have tax or not, online tax is ONLY recommended if you can tax the car during the last month of your current tax period Saraj if you can afford to tax it the day before it expires, go to the post office and do it that day
  2. certainly does, i'd been looking for months for a set of the round centre caps off the 11-spoke rims, Lexus wanted £65 inc vat for them, and I managed to eventually get a set of new ones off ebay for £22 delivered, not as much of a bargain as yours, but still a good saving
  3. only yesterday I jumped in the car in flip flops and luckily got it caught on the pedal before i'd even stuck the key in the ignition, already locked the house up and couldn't be bothered runnin back in again so i just threw the flips in the passenger footwell (so they didn't get in the way) and drove barefoot
  4. yeh altho the secondary number was added, it wasn't selected so my number was still displayed, ebay deny all knowledge, I have been keeping a close eye on it anyway and all seems well for now, I won't be using ebay again to sell the car from now on anyway
  5. I just tell these telesales people that I work for the same company they claim to be from
  6. good thinkin batman, ebay have yet to respond to my accusation, I mean query, too EDIT: no other listings found containing that number
  7. i've had a new computer since the last time tho, I think this time its somethin to do with ebay since its just a contact number thats been put on, i've not had anythin else dodgy happen with my account, i've run all relevent spyware/malware virus tools etc, I will keep my eyes on my ebay ad and remove it if anything changes, picked ebay as it was cheaper lol
  8. yeh i've done that, did it last time, and once before when I was suddenly selling over a hundred designer handbags that I didn't have lol, one thing I can't stand at the moment is internet security....
  9. I have listed a car on ebay for sale, and having revised the item today, I have noticed a secondary contact number has been added which is nothing to do with me, someone I know has text the number and had a reply stating the car is sold, but I tried ringing the number and it doesn't connect this is the second time as it also happened a few months ago has anyone else come accross this when they have sold a car on ebay? and could it be possible that a bot is generating money from people calling what they think is my contact number? I have deleted the number off my ad and will persistantly check it to make sure it doesn't happen again, and I have emailed ebay but if i'm honest I don't trust their reply anyway as I suspect it could also be a canvasser with some kind of agreement with ebay..
  10. Reset the ecu its possible that the new plugs offer a slightly different resistance to the one its expecting hence the light, How was the starting issue though failing that, unplug the sensor that is plugged into the front of the engine cover (next to the air filter) and plug it back in again makin sure its in securely, I knocked mine when i changed my filter and the EML stayed on afterwards, took it out and blew it (universal fix, that is) and plugged it back in ensuring i'd stuck it back in properly
  11. i think when people put 50mpg its kind of like a cash equivelant as compared to petrol, since lpg gives less mpg than fuel but for half the price, its more miles to the pound rather than to the gallon
  12. no 14k for a 2005, 6500 is his budget, and its a 2000 model which he states has 120k on the clock
  13. I always let mine run very low but not for any particular reason, never had it as low as parthiban, nothin worse than pushing it and then gettin stuck in traffic and worrying u may not make it to the pumps, lol I never fill full either, usually just half a tank, to save weight, altho I dunno how much difference the weight of fuel would make to the mpg...
  14. so you have the item (albeit incomplete) and a refund, whats forcing you to return it?
  15. when the rope snaps he pulls up for a second, then drives to the Tuareg, the car was still running
  16. don't leave it anywhere where the vents can get blocked, the air is very warm out of mine too so i've always been conscious of anything that may cover them, even little things like not leaving my phone next to the laptop incase its too close to the vent when its on its desk
  17. lol, u know full well thats in good nick for a '97, u just wanted show off ur nice clean car, lookin very very tidy indeed, wish mine was as nice
