  1. I think anthrecite alloys make the car more discreet, less likely to turn heads, black turns heads but for the wrong reasons, I think black on green looks chavvy, I had the silver 11 spokes on my green one, and in all honesty, altho they were the standard 2004 wheels the car stood out to me as simply looking nice and tidy, it had 7 spoke chromes on initially but I also think they looked a bit chavvy, if you can get some 18's in a nice shade of silver they would look really nice I think
  2. Unlucky, how u managed that?
  3. I used to work as an actuary, and still know people who work in insurance and at a higher level it is worked out quite accurately. The actuaries calculate the risks involved and how much money the insurance company needs to make sure they're covered. Obviously beyond that they are just selling a product so once it gets to sales they will be applying a certain markup, and when young drivers and such are concerned they probably apply a higher markup not purely because they're a higher risk, but also because their options are limited. I imagine renewals are just plucked out of the air in the region of the previous annual premium in the hope that people can't be bothered shopping around tho, altho I was told when I first rang with my renewal that they were struggling to match my best quote, and that i'd get a call back, (which I never got lol) when I called back they managed a better price straight away, this 'certain mark up' is anything they feel like trying to get out of a customer tho
  4. I got my Flux renewal of £900 compared to last years £1000 price, put in a quote as a new customer and got £1100, money supermarket and compare the market came up at £1400 and £1800, shopped around the old fashioned way by goin to each company individually and got a quote of £622, and Flux undercut at £600 on the dot, it'll do I suppose
  5. always liked white ones, have u got a pic from the side showing the wheels?
  6. unless u have a mate in the business, 'cheap' and 'a good job' don't generally come together, altho if someone close to u has a connection locally they may be able help u out
  7. I can't help you with the alcantara seats, mine were too badly marked for it to be worth doing lol how long did the clay stage take you? Tyre Dandy Tyre foam is a good one for engine bays apparently, I just give mine a regular wipe over with a slightly damp cloth tho
  8. I just had my IS serviced at Toyota, I have a lip on my front discs of around 1mm and they said the discs were still fine, altho my pads are 75% worn so I could do with knowin how many miles of normal driving on OEM pads is left on the pads before I need to actually change them
  9. not if ur only doin it for 12 months, unless you are gonne drive a hell of a lot, as it'll take longer than a year for the fuel saving to cover the cost of the conversion also i'm told lpg isn't as good for the engine so only benefits people who are gonna do lots and lots of miles in a short time as opposed to a long time solution
  10. if there is he will be in the members list EDIT I found a fil4362, but not fil4923
  11. twas indeed an optional extra on all the IS range I have a IS300, as far as i'm aware it has everything the 200 sport does, apart from bein Auto which the sport didn't come in, has all the extra cosmetics of the standard sport, full leather and an extra 55bhp, does that make it a higher spec model? cos i've got a sport grille on it, which would also disprove your point what it all boils down to is the sport grille is only a cosmetic alternative, I wouldn't class that as 'forgery' lol and i'm gonna get a set of standard 16's from the base model for winter
  12. the L badge comes off easily enough, and postage from them is normally very quick, they'll send it 2moro
  13. Ah never mind, they only banned me for 2 days, but that was only cos they screwed up when removin my pm privelages, but in doin so pressed a few extra buttons and gave me moderators access, so while I was reading the threads in the mods section where i'd been previously accused (without proof) of wrong doing, and some other quite interesting threads besides, they spotted me in the mods room (that they had given me access to remember) and gave me a 2 day ban, lol give a child a bag of sweets that they shudn't have and they'll still eat them, thats all I was doin really, wasn't my error, either way they fixed access but left it so I can't do avatars and images in signatures and stuff, no big loss all cos I made a tiny mistake which wasn't even intentional, lol anyway enough said about that on here, after all I have nothin bad to say about that club and if i did it would be a little unprofessional to post it on here, I like bein part of both clubs
  14. i'm not struck on the exterior, maybe it would look better once i've seen more colours, but to look at the front looks like the new Kia Cee'd but sportier, and the back half like the seat leon, but the interior I like a lot,
  15. the only differences in the 300s were whether or not u got nav and parkin sensors, and then usuals like body kit etc, but all came with full leather, tints, spoiler, 17's
  16. cd player not working, belts changed at 60k (if not get a few hundred knocked off the price), knocking when turning full lock over bumps, (i think) as this may indicate problems with front lower ball joints/suspension arms, altho i'm not that technical so someone may clarify for you, can't think of anything else Welcome
  17. theres nothing spontaneous about a dent that size, my brother had an Omega and it was hit by a bin wagon, and altho the dent was much more serious than yours, it didn't crack the paint at all, and with a bit of warm weather in our favour at the time, we managed to push the dent out without cracking the paint too, something has definitely hit your car, just a mystery as to what hit it and when
  18. u got actually banned? I thought it was just me that they didn't like, anyway, welcome back to LOC
  19. looks very very nice, I need to clay and polish mine and all the other stuff so Sunday may be my day to do it if the weathers good, u got any mods planned?
  20. took no time as I wasn't really looking, just had a glance on trader and there were 2 there, one had 70k and one had 48, the 70k one had clues suggesting stolen recovered and the dealer knew bugger all about the cars so I turned that away straight away lol, went and had a quick look at the other and got a reasonable px offer for my IS200 so I took it lol
  21. I got a 2002 IS300 with 48k back in feb, well chuffed with it, haven't seen as nice an example since
  22. I missed this aswell, might have had somethin to do with the silly Latest posts button that went on for ages lol, never mind, got a chance in the next comp
