  1. says service history shows a timing belt, it should have had this changed at 60k and 120k, altho if it was done at 100k as per the original recommended mileage in the service book, then it should be done at 160k next, also doesn't say full history, so check that gaps in the history aren't recent. so if the timing belt does need doing thats £400-£500 adjustment on the value if all is well and belts aren't needed u can pick a similar reasonable one up for around £2k to £2,500, maybe a little less
  2. Welcome the power outlet (cig lighter) is on the centre console below the heated seat switches, near the gear shifter on all models as standard, i'm more curious as to where yours has gone gareth?? so your dad may have 2 if theres one in one of the compartments
  3. i have the cassette adaptor and generic mp3 player, works fine
  4. Hi, gutted to hear it can't be fixed economically
  5. as above then, do it while ur there, money well spent from what i've heard!!!
  6. this will sound silly but my waste paper bin is much better quality mesh than chav shop stuff, and cost a couple of quid, can't remember where it came from tho lol
  7. quite a trek from you to WIM however they do point you in the right direction of people closer to you who use the correct settings for your car, and after seeing Watchdog t'other day I can safely say kwik fit won't be let loose on my car
  8. the worst IS's i've seen are those that people modify but get it all wrong lol
  9. Not a wise move. Avoid an accident because you could find yourself uninsured which at the worst could lead to criminal charges. avoiding an accident is easier said than done, hence the term "accident" its best to either declare or un-mod to be safe, I know one or 2 people with various mods who haven't declared and I fear the day will come when it all goes wrong, and it'll be costly if it happens
  10. the difference in wheel size is pretty much made up for with greater tyre wall size on the 16, and should you need it, since u'd only use it temp while u get whichever 17 may need repairin in emergency u'd be fine anyway, 17's come up all the time on ebay anyway with and without tyres so its an easy change to match the rest
  11. i went with quinn on a 1998 rover 200, cost 770 tpft FORGET ABOUT ALL THE SEARCH ONES, THEY ARE ALL OVER PRICED!! shop around the old fashioned way and play companies off against each other
  12. You are right there is stuff on the forum about this. It may be a red herring but in the early 2000's I think there was a Lex service bulletin about a 'starting reflash' as IS were having starting problems. You may be able to check if the car has had this thro the dealer records. The Lex ref of this was EG2004. is there anymore info on this starting reflash as I have a similar issue? mine also used to struggle when cold but the tap on the throttle seems to over come that just fine
  13. won't go into that tho, people only seem to start having problems when they fit turbos, other problems are minor things like faulty cd changers
  14. the inner part of the valves only screw in anyway, check it doesn't spin within the valve, either way probably less hassle just to get a new valve fitted from a tyre place, shouldn't cost you more than a couple of quid
  15. theres a listing on ebay for an interior off a 2005 IS, its just for seats and door cards, but the pic shows the interior in the car with arm rest and he states other interior parts can be sold at extra cost, drop him a message for just the arm rest
  16. i imagine they aren't speed bump proof, couldn't help woth the type tho
  17. seems to me that maybe what you think is locking the pump onto the valve is actually the opposite so try attaching the pump to the valve with the locking lever already pushed down, and move the lever the other way once its on the valve
  18. I sold my 5-spoke with a dunlop sp9000 (I think) with 6mm tread on, stuck it on ebay for £90 plus £10 postage (parcel2go.com) it sold in a couple of days, if the bridgestones are nearly new then let people know in the ad what it would cost to buy just the same tyre seperately also make the title find a wide customer attraction "Lexus IS200 IS300 IS 200 300 Alloy Bridgestone 215/45 17" is what I would go for (altho mine had dunlop in place of bridgestone, so it may not all fit) this was so that people just looking by tyre size will find your ad, and may buy just for the tyre
  19. the factory rear lights come in 3 colours that surround the actual red lens, chrome, dark chrome, and satin, one of the other colours may look less bling...? the covers u saw on the altezza are available from ebay, personally don't like them myself
  20. Here is the Sport Grille, they accept best offer too and have accepted offers of £34+p&p previously (check their feedback ;) ) so u might be able to get it at £40 delivered, and comes pre painted in a choice of the following colours :D 051 WHITE 1C6 GRANITE SKY 1C0 PLATINUM ICE 202 ASTRAL BLACK 8M6 BLUE
  21. so have you kind of forced them to fit Jay? also with regards the beam direction, are they designed for left hand drives?
  22. Hello, not a stupid question at all, altho from the outside the IS200 and 300 look the same, the fitments for the headlights are different so unfortunately 300 lights wouldn't fit your 200, the 300 only launched in 2001 which is why that year is stated, there are some halo kits on ebay for the 200 but its not a route I went down on either my 200 or 300 so I couldn't tell you which to go for, those u've found look good but if they are for USA wouldn't the main beams point the wrong way anyway?
