  1. I agree, i'm probably gonna see what the others look like at some point tho, I didn't used to like the sport grille at all but when I had one on this one earlier in the year it really grew on me I have another pair of front spats in the for sale section
  2. never liked the old wheels, I don't like the standard wheels on the newer LS from 2000 onwards either, the 5 spokes are a big improvement
  3. yeh I think as they were pre-painted silver and expensive, people with other colours simply didn't put them on, I didn't expect them to look as good but I love them thanks, you aren't the first percon to say that, I sold both my other grilles to scrape cash together towards the repair so an LE might not come along any time soon, and as for sport its either black or pay to paint one red, so I don't know just yet, as i've covered the chrome on the current grille I like the dark look tho... Cheers :D
  4. I've fitted the front spats, let me know your thoughts my own thoughts are I think they look great :D

    Is200 / Is300 Bonnet

got one, thanks :D this thread can be closed now
  6. Got the car back today, that hadn't fitted the kit as I hadn't asked, (my fault) but it is ready to go on, i've fitted the front spats as that was only a little easy job and taken a pic, let me know your thoughts my own thoughts are I think they look great :D
  7. I echo Jim, I too and running 18's but my offset is 35, same as your request, they do stick out 15mm further than stock, however stock ones do sit well into the arches anyway, I beleive recommended offset is actually 38-50 or there abouts, so 35 is only a few mm off, I have no issues with mine
  8. I would be that seller, they were £440 new (i didn't pay £440 tho), i've just knocked them down on ebay but they are cheaper on here for members anyway, i'm only after what I paid for them, just need them shifting now
  9. in all honesty i've never looked on the door part, I remember from my old car finding the paint code but now i'm not sure if it was under the bonnet or near the door, but yeh it'll be there somewhere
  10. its on your vin plate under the bonnet, i'm not well up on the blues (lol, tickled me that) but it sounds familiar
  11. £150 ish then paint, or theres front corner spats available as an option, a bit cheaper as I have a set for sale...
  12. its the other button on the middle (?) dial, make sure its bringing air from outside instead of recirculating, that'll reduce steaming so the button has 2 lights on, one is the car with the arrow fully in, and the other is a car with the arrow going into it, thats the one u need lit

    Hi All

tracy is a spammer, hello and welcome fellow wiganer Les
  14. i'm not sure you need any advice, just try 17's and that'll answer your questions, the difference will be quite noticable
  15. the one in the ad looks like it replaces rather than covers, bit pricey tho, to remove your existing one you need to undo the boot lining inside and theres nuts holding the trim on from the inside
  16. my plan is to do the exact same, 16's with tyres pop up fairly often on the bay, i'll be grabbing a set at the end of this month I think
  17. looks good, I had a bump in mine and had to have the bonnet replaced and painted and the bumper fixed to I got a kit done at the same time, I should get it back any day now, can't wait, I have swirls, i've never given it a good polish tho, and my mirrors are also fading on the lack parts too, I dunno if peanut butter works on those. Have a look at these too
  18. my old IS had a replica fibreglass TRD kit and it was poop, the sideskirts weren't shaped so when attached underneath they weren't flush at the sides, so the previous owner riveted them to the bodywork (not a good look) the front lip wasn't straight, I imagin the fixing points weren't even, the rear lip looked fine tho but it cracked at the slightest bump on the back bumper
  19. Thanks Rory, folowed above and flap popped open.adjuted spring as necessary and now appears to open via release mechanism. Can now fill up and head to Newcastle on full tank tomorrow and use credit card trick as required.PS I have a scarlatti red IS200 which no doubt like yours gets many admiring glances as a result of rarity and gleaming codition.Great start to my LOC.Saves a bill at Lexus dealer. Thanks for the timely response. Welcome to the club, yeh mine turns heads when its clean lol, its currently having a body kit painted up so it should look even nicer when I get it back :D
  20. don't think u can access it from the boot, i had the same issue on my 200, I had someone pull the lever inside while I opened it with a credit card in the gap (an old card incase it snapped lol) then I checked the lock and spring inside to make sure they were ok, make sure the spring is seated correctly, ie both sides, and if it is, make the spring springier, once it is springier you may find the flap doesn't sit flush, if this is the case, the "lining" around the inner fuel cap is fairly flexible, so where the catch is, push it inwards slightly and it should sit flush then
  21. looks good, just go to the police now if they continue the harrassement
  22. in answer to your original question tho, stay away from the search engines (despite what Martin Lewis says) just shop around for insurance the old fashioned way, Adrian Flux, green light, sky, and various others people have mentioned, get a handful of quotes and play the companies off against each other insurance is a vicious circle, people avoid following the rules cos insurance is too expensive, but then insurance is too expensive cos people avoid following the rules, best thing to do is follow the rules, then ur covered, and if you are careful and avoid a crash, it should only get cheaper
  23. ok ebay won't get involved as it was done outside ebay, they won't help either party, which is good news for u as u don't need the hassle, for all they know you had it on pistonheads or somethin lol paypal again I can't see helping the buyer out, all they did was send a payment thru paypal, I can imagine all the buyer can do is send an invoice and/or refund request, if it was me i'd ignore it, simples do they have your address at all? if not i'd just txt back wishing them luck, lol
  24. they do a price plan for older cars for some things, it'll also vary between different Lexus Branches as they are franchised, so if you are near more than one shop around, altho £259.93 sounds good, is that for the belts to be done and a full service?
  25. Im lost here.... it cant be £440 yuor mate paying ? is it a lexus IS your talking about ? you're lost cos you didn't read the last line of my post? ie what was planned to be £440 per year was changed to the current rate of £245
