  1. Exactly, and a full size wheel is unlikely to fit in the spare wheel well. I hope you paid more attention to the coffee machine instructions Mr Charlie
  2. @Big Rat I hope you're right, as it will make my 'common' blue one more desirable It's just I recall that when I was looking for mine TVD versions were more plentiful, but a look at what's for sale at the moment, certainly seems to indicate they are rarer.
  3. I'm not sure I agree with that Ratty, there seems to be a lot of initial purchasers out there who fully specc'd the car when ordering, my own included. @antspants Welcome and nice shortlist that you have. :) I also had the same dilemma when purchasing my RCF as there was another car closer to me which was in very good condition but lower specification, without the TVD. I think this is about the best real world example of testing that I found. https://www.caranddriver.com/features/whats-the-diff-we-put-torque-vectoring-to-the-test-feature So as summarised by the guys above, I think in general day to day driving you won't notice a big difference, but if pushing on or on a track then it will be more apparent. In my own situation i'm glad that I have it as it means that come resale time my car will (hopefully) be more desirable. Good luck in your search !
  4. So as I thought, a mis-quote. Big difference between the DPF itself and a DPF mode.
  5. I can see why he is an ex-Jaguar mechanic, either that or has been badly mis-quoted. Look at where a DPF is located in the car and please explain to me how a DPF manages to dump raw diesel into the engine.
  6. One major irritation for me, which was on my IS but is exactly the same on the RCF, is if you set the infotainment system to randomly playback songs from a USB stick, then when you stop the car and start it again you have to go through the whole rigmarole of setting it back to random play again. I know it's a first world problem, but it's such a stupid bug in the firmware.
  7. Remove the igniter or EFI fuses and do the same thing.
  8. Hmmmmmm.... IS200t - 0-60 = 6.8secs, 241BHP M3 - 0-60 = 4.2secs, 424BHP Your friend must have been a crap driver !
  9. I had a faulty battery on my IS, it started not lasting for longer than 2weeks, then 1 week and then even less. Was swapped under warranty by the dealer.
  10. I'm just going to go with annually. Knowing me will most likely end up being a couple of weeks over the anniversary.
  11. Your knowledge is seriously incorrect. The oil in the sump is not pressurised, so how do you think it will make it's way up to the turbo?
  12. I should have caveated.............. 'For off-road use only'
  13. By who? God? When I had my IS(privately owned) i was doing around 20k a year so I used the 12.5k\1 year interval. In the event of a warranty claim being rejected i'd love to have had the argument as to how my mileage or usage differed from that of any other high mileage user. It's your car, your money just make a decision of which of the recommendations you wish to follow based on your usage. This year I have a similar quandry with my RCF to some of you other guys, I will likely have completed only 3k by the time I come to my service interval.
  14. That's quite a significant power decrease, but assume it won't be long until somebody bypasses the filter and advises whether the power is totally restored or only partially.
  15. No can't say I have, but even so, there is a big difference between 400kv and 12v Anyway back to your issue, have you checked the vents for the heater inlet to make sure it is clear of leaves, and any debris? Also, just a thought have you checked your power steering fluid?
  16. You can hear electricity? Cool
  17. Are you sure it's rust? I haven't checked, but I would have suspected these are aluminium. . .
  18. Congratulations, now at least you won't be mistaken for an Avensis (grenade launched )
  19. @rayaans You do realise that post is over two years old now? Hopefully he has sorted his issue
  20. For anybody's reference, this auction on Ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Lexus-IS250C-Tire-Valve-Cap-9094205037/263281580870?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Is for a single valve cap I asked before hitting the button.
  21. Unfortunately they no longer make this :( The only option would be a second hand system, or aftermarket ECU with the same capability.
  22. This is a really big assumption without reading the fault codes!! Engine lights can flash for any number of different faults and the first thing to do is get the fault codes read.
  23. We don't seem to have heard from him since picking up his beauty. Maybe he's permanently driving it around
