  1. The AAWireless device that has been mentioned previously only works with Android phones (and therefore Android Auto) however there are similar devices available for Apple phones and Apple CarPlay, for example:- https://cplay2air.com/en-gb [I can't vouch for this one specifically - just giving you an example - other owners on here may be able to guide you] In my opinion this would be a better solution to running wires from the dash USB port into the armrest. Simply plug the wireless adapter into the USB port and then run wireless CarPlay with the phone on the wireless charger in the armrest.
  2. There is a button just below the gear selector in the centre console. Here is an extract from the manual showing it's location:-
  3. Yeah, I saw that clause listed on the council website. Seems crazy that if I'm traveling down a road that I've never been on before and hit a pothole that obviously I wasn't aware of, I would need to rely on someone else having gone to all the trouble to report it beforehand.
  4. To be honest Len, the fitter I went to (not my local one but the only one in the surrounding area that could supply the correct tyre in 24 hours) hardly spoke a word of English and wasn't very forthcoming so I didn't push for any "post match analysis" 😗 The alloy wheel itself appears to be ok.
  5. I did toy with that idea but in the end I decided against it as there is no place in the car for a spare. And although I can't recall having more than 1 or 2 punctures in my 35 years of driving I just know that if I had replaced all 4 with normal tyres, it wouldn't be long before I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere with a puncture waiting ages for the RAC with the grandkids in the back. Anyway, tyre now replaced. £274 poorer. Currently checking out how to make a claim to the local council for pothole damage compensation (but not optimistic on my chances of success). Thanks to everyone on here for all the advice.
  6. Ronnie - thanks for your input but I need to ensure that the tyres on all 4 corners are the same make and model, plus they need to be runflats.
  7. Looking back, I do remember hitting a not inconsiderable pothole a few weeks ago (that has since been temporarily filled in). The roads in my neck of the woods are in a terrible state at the moment. I did have a cursory look around the car at the time but didn't spot anything amiss. Maybe it took a while for the bulge to show itself. I'll definitely look into seeing how I might be able to claim the cost back from the local council.
  8. I'll definitely be getting the same make (Bridgestone Alenza). The car has only done just over 7000 miles so the difference in tread depth between old and new shouldn't be too great.
  9. I didn't unfortunately.
  10. They are indeed runflats. I'm fully expecting to need a replacement. Just arranging the finance 😀 Cheapest I've seen online for a replacement is £274 (Asda Tyres). Maybe my local independent fitter will be slightly cheaper.
  11. Thanks for all the replies received to date. Much appreciated. I'll take the car to my local tyre fitter in the morning and report back.
  12. Hi all, Advice needed please. Whilst washing the car today I noticed that there is a slight bulge in one of my tyres where it meets the alloy wheel (photos attached below). Not sure how long it has been like that. Is this something I should be unduly concerned about? I'd appreciate any advice from people on here before taking it to a tyre place who most likely will want to fleece me for a new tyre whether I need one or not (which won't be cheap). The tyre pressure is correct and it doesn't appear to be losing air. Car drives and steers fine. No damage to the alloy in that area. Maybe some pothole damage? Thanks in advance.
  13. Hi Ken, I'm surprised to hear that you feel this way as I had a feeling from your many other posts on the forum that you were very satisfied with the car itself. What is it about the Lexus Link app particularly that is making you contemplate selling? To me, the app is purely a "nice-to-have" add-on to owning the car. I could definitely live without it and still love the car. Admittedly I don't have the PHEV version so do not need the battery charging aspects of the app. In fact, I don't use any of the other functionality such as pre-heating the car; remote lock; etc. so apart from the "last parked location" and past journey analysis (which, as we all know, is very hit and miss) I wouldn't use it at all. I know that there have been a few recalls (I think mine has gone back to the dealer twice for these) but that hasn't bothered me much either. Maybe I'm more easily satisfied 😉
  14. That's interesting Ken. By way of comparison, my NX350h (14 months old with just over 7,000 miles on the clock) has returned 48 mpg in it's lifetime so far (as indicated by the car's on-board computer so may be a tad "optimistic"). So, not a big difference. Sorry, not trying to cast aspersions on your (or anyone else's) choice of getting the PHEV - just thought I'd throw it out there for anyone weighing up the two options. FWIW, I would have bought the 450h+ over the 350h if I had the capability to charge it at home (living in a flat took that option away) as a PHEV would be perfect for the journeys I make 90% of the time.
  15. Any motoring journalist that over-dramatizes the functionality of the NX's door handles as Clarkson has done (to the Nth degree by the way - "stuck in the car until 4am; blah; blah; blah") loses all credibility in my opinion. Anyone that can't use them (or understand the logic behind the technology) shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel of a car, let alone review one. He also makes reference to the "beeps" when using the infotainment system. Is he not clever enough to work out that you can turn that off in seconds via the settings? Has he not driven a modern car before? I'm sure he makes things up for shock value - he's just walking clickbait. I'm not trying to be defensive on my choice of car and I'm not saying the new NX is perfect (I know that others on here have had some not inconsiderable issues with aspects of it) but at least review it in a reasoned, rational, way and not use it as the latest attempt to "get noticed".
  16. Well, as we all know, you can get it in cloudburst grey 😀
  17. I've only just seen this news having been "offline" for a few days. Such sad news - RIP John. Heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
  18. Have you tried looking for a case for the Pixel 7 that will somewhat "cancel out" the height difference between the camera bar and the rest of the phone's back? That way, the phone may lie a bit flatter on the surface of the charger and make a better contact. Obviously the case would need to support wireless charging.
  19. Thanks for the info Ken. Aside from the considerable expense of the run flats fitted to the new NX, my other slight concern was availability. Was the tyre easy to source?
  20. Or Black & Rich Cream - a slightly more "conservative" choice but with a splash of brightness.
  21. Hi Chirag. Welcome to the forum. Are you saying that the head-up display is not showing at all? If so then it should be possible to turn it on via the following "Hey Lexus" command:- "Hey Lexus Turn on the head-up display" Alternatively you can turn it on via the Infotainment screen. Go to Settings > Vehicle customise > Head-up display If these suggestions don't work then it might require a visit to your dealer for further investigation.
  22. An issue very similar to this was reported on the US Club Lexus forum a while back and it was felt that it was a manufacturing defect caused by the airbag contained within that section of the dash creating an indentation. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-2nd-gen-2022-current/987948-check-your-nx-manufacturer-defect-nx-airbag-imprint-indentation-do-you-have-this.html Looks like it's not an uncommon occurrence across different makes of cars. Unfortunately the thread on that forum seems to end without any update on whether the OP's issue was solved. Nevertheless I thought you might be interested in reading it. Sorry I can't help further. I hope you can get it resolved.
  23. Maybe a small crumb of comfort for you Gary.... if your car enters the build stage within the next 3 or 4 weeks (and is promptly put on a ship thereafter) then a delivery date of mid to late May is still a possibility. This is based on my experience with ordering my NX350h in 2021/22.
  24. I'm with Lexus Insurance (primarily for the fact that they say that all repairs will be carried out by Lexus workshops). My documentation states that "Lexus Motor Insurance is a trading name of Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance UK Limited" and that the policy is "Underwritten by Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance UK Limited". For anyone considering Lexus Insurance - I went with them for the reason I stated above plus their price was very competitive (for me at least). I have not needed to make a claim (famous last words!) so can't comment on their performance in that regard. I would say though that their customer-facing IT system seems a bit old school and their general customer support (e.g. when I renewed my policy recently) was somewhat below par so hopefully their claims process is better. Time will tell I guess.
  25. Not having an ES I can't help you with questions 1 and 2 but with regards to question 3 - there is an option within the Android Auto settings on your phone (usually listed under your phone's general settings) to control whether AA starts automatically when it connects to the car. The setting to look for is "Start Android Auto automatically". Might be worth taking a look at the selected option under there and change it if necessary.
