  1. I too have the AAWireless dongle and have been very happy with it. One thing though in relation to Bluetooth - I do need to start Bluetooth on my phone whenever I use the car and wish to have the dongle operational (even though the setting on the car's infotainment system is set for Android Auto rather than Bluetooth). I have found that not doing that beforehand means the dongle will not connect to the headunit for wireless Android Auto. So I'm assuming that this is a requirement for all these models of wireless dongles.
  2. Ken, have you tried Asda Tyres? They had the OEM Bridgestones in stock when I had to replace one of my (20") tyres. Granted, this was a while ago but I thought I'd mention it in case Asda wasn't in your thinking when searching. Basically they source and deliver the tyre to a local fitter of your choosing.
  3. I'm sure they didn't. I was just giving my experience for the benefit of reason and balance.
  4. Well, seeing that I haven't personally encountered any of the issues you have listed, I'm inclined to agree with Auto Express.
  5. I was replying to a direct question from a member who, at least at the time, owned a NX350h.
  6. I use "Bouncer's Dress To Impress". It's easy to apply and although it's quite expensive a little goes a long way. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bouncers-Dress-Impress-250ml-Handpoured/dp/B01DUREIQ6
  7. I think I must be that person Ken 😀 I recently renewed with them for £430 for my 2022 NX350h; fully comp; max NCB (protected); 6,000 miles per annum; SD&P only; car kept in garage when not in use. They were very competitive when I did the usual "compare the market" trawling. As has been said before, insurance prices are so subjective.
  8. I see that it's at Lexus Woodford so I think this is the exact car that I had for a day recently whilst my NX was with them for servicing - the colour, mileage and general (slightly poor) condition of the car looks familiar. If so, then it's currently a "manager's car \ tester" so does need some TLC - although nothing that a day's worth of general cleaning wouldn't resolve (which I would happily volunteer for 😀 - would be quite therapeutic I think). I've been following the RZ forum on here quite closely since it's inception as I did have half a mind to look into getting one to replace my NX. Over time though my enthusiasm has cooled quite a bit after hearing the experiences and trials and tribulations of the RZ owners here plus the issues facing all EV cars at the moment (insurance; battery life; depreciation; etc.). I only used the RZ for my 30 mile daily commute round the North Circular in London so didn't really have a great deal of time with it to give any real, meaningful, feedback. What I can say though is that it didn't give me the wow factor that I anticipated beforehand. It drove very well and was very quiet and smooth and was very comfortable. I really like the exterior styling and this one was in the colour that I would choose. Maybe it was the condition of the car plus the usual rush hour crawling North Circular traffic and the fact it was raining that dulled everything. If I bought one I would definitely miss having a rear wiper - as I say it rained for most of the day and I never really got up to a speed that would clear the rear screen aerodynamically so my view behind was obscured all the time. I thought beforehand that I would be reluctant to get back into my NX after savouring the delights of the RZ but to be honest it didn't bother me as much as I anticipated. Having said that - if they sold a hybrid version (with a rear wiper obviously 😀), I would be very interested.
  9. Hmmm, that's interesting. My car was with my dealer last week and nothing was mentioned. Please let us know what your dealer says.
  10. When you say "it was at the same time I had audible alerts from the car for getting to close to left side of road", are you referring to the Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) system? If so, it might be an idea to (temporarily) turn that off completely and see if the AA disconnect problem goes away. For what it's worth - S24 Ultra owner here and no issues with AA.
  11. I too hear a similar noise when putting my NX into Park - and always have done since day one. I've always assumed that it's the electronic parking brake engaging and that it's normal.
  12. Many other owners on here have experienced similar issues since the most recent software upgrade. This has been discussed, along with potential solutions, in the following post:- I hope this helps.
  13. My current and previous NXs have both been insured with Lexus Motor Insurance. I have found them to be quite competitive on price, i.e. matching, or in some cases, being lower than the quotes I received from the usual suspects or the comparison websites (for similar cover; excess; etc.). Thankfully I haven't had the chance to see how well they respond to a claim yet (famous last words!) but am hopeful that it will be a trouble-free experience. Their promise of authorising repairs at Lexus approved body-shops using genuine Lexus parts is a major plus for me. Also, being associated with the Lexus "brand" must help surely - or am I being naive? Having said that - if their prices were well over what other insurers were quoting, would I still go with them? Probably not. I would say however that their customer service when renewing or changing cars in the past has been a little underwhelming. For example my recent renewal quote had my marital status wrong (when it was correct in the previous year) plus they only record you as having 10 years NCB even if you have actually accumulated more (so not sure how that will work if I choose to go somewhere else and need to provide proof of NCB). Hopefully their claims process is a little better. Like you, I'd be interested to hear what others have to say in that regard.
  14. Congratulations. I'm sure you wont regret it. With regards to insurance, don't disregard trying Lexus Motor Insurance. Despite some owners on here being quoted quite astronomical figures by them, I personally have found them to be quite competitive (both on my previous 2018 NX and my current 2022 model). They offer repairs by Lexus approved body-shops using genuine Lexus parts. Also don't forget that the true value of an insurance company, regardless of cost or other factors, only comes to light when you need to make a claim.
  15. I would echo the comments made by @Steve Oliver regarding a service and the Relax warranty. Also make sure that they do the hybrid battery health check at the same time. Also ask whether it has had the the multimedia software upgrade for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (if that's a priority for you). It should be eligible for the upgrade but whether it has been done is another question. If not, ask them to do it as part of the deal (as it can be expensive to do after the purchase). You might already be aware that this version of the NX300h is susceptible to the CANBUS method of theft (if you're not aware then take a look at the associated post at the top of the forum listing). Would be good for you to mention this to the salesman so that if you do buy the car you're ahead of the game with respect to the forthcoming security enhancements. I owned a 2018 NX300h with similar mileage for 3 years and it was trouble-free.
  16. I would suggest trying "303 Aerospace Protectant" spray.
  17. All the best Ken. I've enjoyed all your input here on the NX forum. I think we both got our Gen 2 NXs at roughly the same time (and were pretty much the first to do so on the LOC). Good luck with the RX - I hope it meets all your expectations and more.
  18. I had this post appear on my Twitter feed today regarding the recovery of a stolen RX. If you enlarge the photo you will see the telltale sign of the wheel arch molding having been removed. Looks like a tracker was the saviour on this occasion.
  19. I can see what you're saying but typically Lexus cars are stolen for spare parts or for shipping overseas - not to be thrashed by a couple of joyriding yobs (there are plenty of hot-hatchbacks around for that purpose). From what I gather, the thieves drive the car to a quiet location somewhere and wait a day or two to see if the owner finds it. In this scenario the tags may prove invaluable and, assuming that the thieves hadn't caused too damage in the method by which they stole it, I'd probably want it back.
  20. Hi James, I'm assuming that your ES has the new Lexus Interface multimedia system. If so then I would take a look at the "Software update" thread on the NX forum first before deciding whether to do the update. There have been issues for some owners post-update.
  21. The only slight issue with connecting to Lexus' suggested jump starter terminals under the bonnet (notably point D as referenced in the manual) is that the jump leads provided with most jump starter packs are notoriously short so may not stretch that far.
  22. Sounds like you have the climate control "synch" option enabled. You'll notice this button alongside all the other heating controls under the Infotainment screen. If it's highlighted in blue, it will synch both left and right sides. As @AWC has stated, I think your other issues are related to the introduction of the second key. What key is now your primary one? If not already, I would revert to your original key and keep the one you've just received as the spare.
  23. I too had the same issues following the latest software update that you have described (Arrow icon with the cross through it; no journeys being recorded; unable to get last known car location; Connected Services not enabled under Info and Security). After trying many times to get these services to stay enabled, the problem just went away without me doing anything else. Since then I have used the car a few times and the services have remained enabled (the only one that doesn't is the "Use voice data" service which I have given up on for now) and the Arrow icon is blue (meaning that the car is communicating with the Lexus servers). Sorry that any of the above probably isn't of much help for your particular problems but what I can say is that the Security lock" settling is disabled and I have never dared to enable it so I don't think that enabling it will help you. I know that one or two others on here had the same issues but not sure if for them the problem just resolved itself like it did for me. Hope you get if sorted soon.
  24. So I went out to the car this morning to try Ken's suggested fix. Turned the car on and lo and behold the Arrow icon was blue indicating that the necessary Connected Services were already enabled. This was confirmed by checking under "Info and Security". I then turned the car off and then back on a couple of times and the services remained enabled each time (and the Arrow icon remained blue). So maybe it has sorted itself out - but who knows, given Lexus' record on software and technology. Or maybe tomorrow it will all be broken again. However, I couldn't get the "Voice data" service to stay enabled so gave up on this one at that point. I think this particular service is required to facilitate some of the more extensive "Hey Lexus" voice commands that need to go out to the internet to get executed.
