  1. Just to add that my advice would be to check that all of the "recalls" on the car (there have been a few) have been carried out by Lexus. Not just for the usual safety reasons but one of these will enable Proactive Driving Assist which wasn't an option on the 2022 NXs.
  2. Hi Amit, welcome to the LOC. Congratulations on the car. I too have a 2022 NX350h Premium Plus (bought from new) and am still loving it, almost 3 years later. It hasn't skipped a beat in all that time. I would agree with you about the conundrum of whether to replace the run flat tyres with standard tyres when the time comes. The standard tyres should be a bit cheaper to replace; be a bit quieter and allow for a more comfortable ride but then there's no spare. My car has only done 15,000 miles and there's plenty of tread left on the tyres so I can delay that decision for a bit longer. I know that NX owners in the US have managed to source a small spare and have worked out how to secure it in the boot but I'm not sure that would be viable for me. Anyway, good luck with the car.
  3. I can't help you with the clean windscreen question I'm afraid as I find a quick wipe with a microfiber cloth and standard glass cleaner works for me. With regards to the wheel arch surrounds (and all of the other bits of black trim) I use "Bouncers Dress To Impress". It goes on smooth; there's no "sling" and a bottle lasts a long time.
  4. Are you referring to what Viktor does at the 4:22 timestamp in the video? If so then he is screwing one of the Phillips screws (included in the fixings that come with the mudflaps) into a pre-existing threaded hole in the wheel arch.
  5. I've been debating in my mind whether getting these stickers to support the fitment of the (Lexus fitted) tracker to my NX would be a good thing or not. On the one hand I can see the benefit of potentially warning off a would-be thief (and avoiding the damage they cause to the wheel arch; etc.) however my fear is that this may induce the professional gangs to immediately, after taking the car away, start dismantling it (which they may ultimately do anyway for the parts they desire) to try to locate the tracker. Maybe it's better to not advertise the fitment of a tracker and thereby put doubt in their mind and force them to park it up somewhere for a day or two and wait to see whether the owner or the police come to recover it? I guess this may depend on whether you would want to get your car back with the wheel arch and wiring loom potentially needing expensive repairs.
  6. Hi Mike, First of all, welcome to the LOC. Funnily enough, I have just recently done exactly the same as you on my NX350h, i.e. order a set of mud flaps from Lexus Parts Direct and fit them myself. If I recall correctly the fixings that you have in your first photo were also included in the set I received however I didn't find a need (or actually anywhere on the bumper) to fit them. I admit that fitting the mud flaps was quite a fiddly job but I got there in the end. Here are the instructions that I followed as I went along:- Fronts:- (Parts required each side:- 1 clip & 2 screws) Turn wheel to gain access Remove pre-installed push-pin with blade of a screwdriver Repeat for pre-installed push-pin at the bottom Look for dimple (above the push-pin) Slide clip over the dimple Line up mudguard and secure in place with push-pin Screw in screws above and below the push-pin (bottom one should have the thread already there) Insert push-pin at the bottom Rears:- (Parts required each side:- 3 clips & 3 screws) Slide clips over the 3 dimples Remove pre-installed push-pin at the bottom Line up mudguard and secure with the push-pin at the bottom Screw in the 3 screws (going from top to bottom) The rears were slightly more tricky as you can't obviously turn the wheels to gain the necessary access to screw in the screws so rather than be forced to remove the wheels I purchased the following, cheap, small ratchet from Amazon which did the trick:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B4N2LVLH I also followed a YouTube video that showed how to fit them on a Gen 2 NX:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1o8ATwuxt0 I hope this helps.
  7. If the LBX has the same version of the Lexus Interface (i.e. the multimedia operating system) as my NX then the "rear seat reminder" can be disabled by the owner. To do this:- On the multimedia screen, select the Settings (gear) icon Next, select "Vehicle customize" Select "Utility" Toggle the "Rear seat reminder" option to Off Apologies in advance if this isn't possible on the LBX.
  8. My NX is the Premium Plus spec. Has your car had the recent Forward Camera recall (ZGG47) fix? I believe that is what enabled PDA for me. I'm happy to share a screenshot of what I see but probably won't be in the car until Monday now.
  9. Just got back from having the tracker fitted to my NX350h. Have received a plastic card with the device's serial number and Tracker contact details plus a "welcome" email from them. I did ask the question as to why I was offered the tracker bearing in mind that the Gen 2 NX is (supposedly) not prone to the canbus vulnerability and was told that Lexus (or maybe my dealer franchise alone?) were offering this to owners of the most popular models (e.g. RX; NX and some UX) due to the rise in crime against these models in recent years (regardless of the method by which they are stolen). As an aside, It was mentioned that authorities are seeing a huge rise in incidents of Lexus cars being stolen for parts to be exported to Russia. Since Lexus pulled put of the Russian market to voice it's disapproval to Russia's aggression against Ukraine, it seems that a large "black market" has arisen there for spare parts - obtained by hook or by crook. Not sure why others on here have had a negative response from their dealers when enquiring about the tracker but maybe it's limited to particular Lexus dealer franchises or possibly location (I assume that London and the South East has been hit hardest by car crime)?
  10. I may have been a bit premature with my earlier post as I now have the Proactive Driving Assist (PDA) feature enabled on my 2022 NX350h. I'm still not sure about the OTA update designed to fix the remote start and climate control functionalities though but I don't use those features anyway. It's possible that the PDA feature was enabled when I took the car to the dealers for the recent front camera recall work. It was only a few days ago that I noticed I had a fourth "page" when checking the option to view all of the driving assist features via the multimedia screen (icon with the 6 dots). I assumed before that if I had PDA it would appear grouped with the other 8 similar driving assist features but lo and behold it shows on the fourth page all on it's own. So if anyone else on here is looking for it - that's where to look. With regards to PDA itself, I'm still getting used to it. When approaching the car in front, it does seem to slow the car down a lot sooner than I would normally (either by pressing the brake or simply just taking my foot off the accelerator and "coasting" for a bit). Not sure what the long term effects (if any) of using PDA will have on the longevity of my brakes\discs and overall MPG as it does brake more "aggressively" than I would normally.
  11. After (and only after 😀) I have had the tracker installed tomorrow I may ask the question as to why Lexus felt it necessary to install it on my Gen 2. If so, I will report back here.
  12. My 350h was a very early build (December 2021) however I would imagine/hope that it has the new security protocols. I must admit that I'm half expecting my dealer to call me before Thursday (or even on the day) and say that there's been a mix-up and unfortunately my car isn't eligible. But until that happens I will keep schtum 😉
  13. Just had a call out of the blue from my local dealer to arrange a date for me to have the tracker fitted to my NX350h (yes, they called me rather than the reverse 😀). I didn't think they were offering it to Gen 2:NX owners as I was under the impression that that particular model wasn't prone to the canbus vulnerability. Anyway, not wishing to look a gift horse in the mouth, I have the car booked in for Thursday. I realise that the type of tracker being offered has it's limitations but it's better than nothing plus it may help with insurance renewal costs, especially considering that I am currently with Lexus Insurance.
  14. Congratulations on your impending new arrival. I often have to fit child seats in my NX for the grandkids so I purchased the following seat protector from Amazon. It's easy to put on and remove and has done the job for me. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08NXS4JG8
  15. Just wanted to bump this topic up to see if anyone on here has had definitive proof that this OTA update has been performed on their car. I've seen no visual indication on mine (although I don't use the remote start / remote climate control functions that the update was designed to fix). As far as I can see under the Software Update part of the Lexus Interface, there is nothing to suggest that it has been done. Also, the (seemingly) associated installation of the Proactive Driving Assist feature that @jmc24x mentioned definitely hasn't happened on my 2022 NX. Has anyone who uses the remote functions noticed that any previous problems with them have been fixed by the update?
  16. Thanks for the heads-up on that Colin. I will bear that in mind for the future. I did challenge the £15 charge when booking my car in but the person I spoke to was adamant that I would have to pay it. C'est la vie.
  17. I have dealt with many different car manufacturer dealerships over the years, ranging from Porsche to Kia and can honestly say that I haven't noticed any real difference in customer service (good or bad) between any of them - and that includes Lexus. My partner and her daughter both own Kias so I have the "pleasure" of taking each one to Kia for their annual service and I can't say that the service or welcome that I get when I take my car to Lexus is any better than what I experience at Kia. Sure, the waiting areas and the coffee is better at my Lexus dealership but the politeness, knowledge and overall dedication to service from the staff I encounter is the same at Kia (at least for me). My Lexus dealer has never let me down or given me shoddy service but I have never come out of the dealership thinking "Wow! What a difference that was compared to other manufacturers". If Lexus dealerships really do want to stand out from the rest then I think it's the little things that make a difference (and maybe this is what they aspired to in the past, but sadly seem to no longer). For example, I recently had to take my NX to my dealers for a safety recall (so obviously not something that I could decline doing) - with the obvious inconvenience. When I enquired about whether a courtesy car was available I was told there was but I would have to pay a £15 insurance fee. Choosing not to pay this would have resulted in me being liable for a £2,000 insurance excess should the car be involved in an accident whilst in my possession. In light of this, I declined to take the courtesy car and instead chose to walk home after dropping the car off (a 30 minute walk back home and then again to collect it later in the day). I realise that £15 is not a lot of money but it's the principle. Surely for situations such as recalls Lexus could waive this £15 fee. Wouldn't that go some way to "Experience Amazing"? And I can only dream about ever getting a full tank of fuel in situations like this like other owners seem to have received.
  18. Is there a difference in the file type (e.g. MP3; AAC; FLAC) between the songs that do appear and those that don't? Maybe the ones that don't appear are of a file type that the car cannot read. Failing that, personally I doubt that anyone at the dealership will have a clue (unless you're really lucky to ask someone who has more than the basic "car salesman" knowledge).
  19. With all the current (and historic) issues that Lexus owners are experiencing with the Lexus Link+ app not recording multiple journeys, let's hope that the Government commissions Lexus' IT department to capture the miles driven by every car. That way we'd probably be paying only half of what we should be. Far easier than "clocking". 😀
  20. The below article written by Lexus UK may get you closer to the answer:- https://mag.lexus.co.uk/lexus-apple-carplay-and-android-auto-upgrade/ The article states that "Lexus NX models produced from September 2018 to September 2019" should be upgradable (and beyond September 2019 I would imagine). This does correlate with my experience as I previously owned a 18 plate NX which was able to be upgraded via a software update. If I recall correctly some cars had to have a number of software upgrades applied before they became eligible for the Android Auto one. Can't quite remember exactly now but the AA / Carplay upgrade added an extra option to the car's Infotainment system settings under the "Online applications" section (or something like that) so if you're sitting in a prospective purchase, check the car's settings. Hope this helps.
  21. I would suggest trying "303 Aerospace Protectant" spray. Available on Amazon and elsewhere.
  22. I received the letter too so I phoned my local dealer (Lexus Woodford) and the nice lady in the bookings department told me that they are waiting for a special tool to arrive before they can action this particular recall 🤷‍♂️ They will add my details to the list of owners who have called them about the recall and will contact me when this tool is available. This seemed slightly strange to me as I assumed it was a software fix but I didn't labour the point. I wonder if others on here have had a similar response.
  23. I agree with the above sentiments. I would never pay extra for a higher spec car if that higher spec was primarily centred around a so-called "enhanced" sound system. I love my music but if I want to listen to it in high-definition I'll do that at home - not on a trip around the M25. The standard sound system in my NX sounds fine to my, admittedly ageing, ears.
  24. Having owned my NX350h for 2 and a half years I definitely concur. I quite often observe the car in EV mode (i.e. automatically initiated by the car itself) when driving at speeds of around 60 mph. Granted it doesn't stay that way for longer than a few minutes, plus the hybrid battery needs to be at maximum capacity, but it does happen.
  25. When my current run flats need replacing in the future (my car has just over 15K miles on it so hopefully there's still plenty of life in them yet) I will seriously consider switching to non-run flats. Standard tyres will be slightly cheaper; easier to get hold of; less noisy and will provide a more comfortable ride. The only drawback of course is if I get a puncture and don't have a spare so I'll need to do some research on maybe getting a small spacesaver wheel and storing it securely in the boot space (or maybe just look at getting some of that sealant goo). One other thing to consider would be whether having standard tyres on the car would reduce it's value if \ when I come to part-exchange it at a Lexus dealership (as it is no longer "standard" spec).
