  1. It does seem a bit too good to be true but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Fingers crossed that you hear something positive soon on your order.
  2. I had another email from Lexus this morning to say that the car has now been built and has left the factory. This has been confirmed by the salesperson at my dealers. I've asked them to inform me of the name of the ship it will be coming across on so that I can track it's progress. ETA is the end of January so fingers crossed for that.
  3. I received an email from Lexus this morning to say that my order has changed to "Build in progress" which is encouraging news. The Lexus Link app and the MyLexus website both reflect this. Does anyone on here know how long it typically takes for a build to complete and for the order to move to the next stage?
  4. It works fine when charging - although the phone can get quite warm.
  5. It can drain the battery Herbie, you're right. On the occasions that I may be concerned about battery life when on a (longer than usual) drive, I drop the phone onto the wireless charger in the centre console which manages to put back what wireless AA takes out. It's still more convenient IMHO than having to plug the phone in every time.
  6. I have been really pleased with it - works every time. It's still early days with the project so there are some teething problems with it still, especially around supply and demand. I believe there is currently quite a backlog of orders so that it can take months to get your hands on one. Also due to the infinite combination of phones and head-units that the device needs to be compatible with, some buyers are reporting technical issues. But, with my Samsung phone and Lexus head-unit, it has been flawless for me. By the way, if my recently-ordered 2022 NX does indeed have wireless AA capability (I have seen contradictory reports of this online), I may be looking to sell my AAWireless device so watch this space 😉
  7. Bluetooth doesn't have the necessary bandwidth strength to transfer the large amounts of data (navigation data; streaming music; etc.) between the phone and the car's head-unit for Apple CarPlay (AC) or Android Auto (AA) to work. Therefore, unless the head-unit has wireless AC or AA capability (which currently Lexus head-units do not have*) you have to plug the phone into the car's USB port using a charging cable (that also has data-transfer capability), which can be a bit of a pain every time you get in the car. As @Mincey has quite rightly said, there are wireless adaptors that provide wireless capability for AC and AA - the adaptor itself plugs into the USB port and the phone connects to the adaptor wirelessly, thus negating the need to plug in the phone. One such device that I believe has been popular for members of this site that use AC is CPLAY2air - https://cplay2air.com/ For AA, I use AAWireless - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/aawireless#/ (caveat - this is currently a "crowd funded" enterprise, but I have been using the device for a long time without any problems) * with the new 2022 NX, Lexus are starting to introduce wireless AC and AA capable head-units. Hope this helps.
  8. Thanks Ed. That's reassuring to hear.
  9. Thanks again Ivan. That date is very similar to mine. It will be interesting to see if we both take delivery of our shiny new NXs on or around January 17 🙏
  10. Thanks Ivan - that sounds more reassuring. May I ask - when did you place your order? I'm just seeing if your "timeline" is similar to mine.
  11. I have the exact same date for delivery of my NX350h (Sonic Grey; Black\Rich cream interior; Premium Plus pack). This was an order that I placed back in early September. I'm sceptical about this date though due to the ongoing supply chain issues and other factors, although I have read that Toyota are saying that they plan to return to full production capacity in December. Also, the Lexus Link app is still just showing "Order in progress" - I would have thought that if that delivery date (only 7 weeks away) was to be achievable it would have moved onto "Build in progress" at least. Or maybe I'm just being pessimistic. I'm going to give my dealer a call early next week to see if they have an update.
  12. All the best Ed with the new car. I bet Friday can't come quickly enough 🙂 I know how satisfied you were with the NX so hopefully the RX will be just as good, if not better.
  13. If memory serves me correctly, it was the sport seats.
  14. The one I saw at Lexus Woodford was white.
  15. @Rabbers - Thanks for putting your thoughts on the new NX into words - very interesting and probably took longer to type than the actual test drive 🙂 I'm glad to hear that you were impressed with it - every review I have read or viewed so far has reinforced my belief that I made the right choice in ordering one early "sight unseen". Time will tell though I guess. They just need to get a move on and start building it.
  16. I have the exact same specification (Luxury with Premium Navigation) registered in July 2018 and was able to have the Android Auto\Apple CarPlay retrofit installed successfully.
  17. My 2022 NX order is currently still slated for delivery in mid-January (which I always felt was optimistic) however when I last spoke to the guy at the dealers who is handling my order he said that it was very likely to slip into February or even March. He also said that they don't expect to get one for themselves to use as a demonstrator until January. He told me that anyone ordering a 2022 NX now will have to wait until April at the earliest (probably meaning May or June in reality).
  18. Hi @Herbie I can't offer any specific advice about the Grom device itself. What I would say though is that Android 8 is quite an old OS (as you know Android 11 is the current one but Android 12 is just round the corner for the most recent phones\devices) so you may find that the providers of the apps you would like to run on the device (e.g. Google Maps; Waze; etc.) may withdraw support for their apps on such a relatively old OS (if they haven't already). My advice would be to check that your desired apps can run on Android 8 first before considering buying the Grom. Hope this helps.
  19. Hi Craig. I believe that the connection between the Lexus Link app and any new orders is via your email address so it might be worth checking that the email address that you are using to log into the app and the one that Lexus hold for the actual order is the same. FYI (in case you were not aware) - the status of new orders on the app is found via the "My Garage" section - this can be accessed by selecting the icon found on the top right of the app's Home screen (looks a bit like a house); then select the "Purchased" tab. Alternatively you can also check the status of any order via the following website so it might be worth checking there also. https://www.lexus.co.uk/my-lexus/ Hope this helps.
  20. So I went to Lexus Woodford this morning and saw the new NX. It was a 450h F Sport in white with the red/black interior. It was left-hand drive (had German number plates stacked away in the boot) so obviously it's not a proper dealership demonstrator. Like @Linas.P has suggested it could be a car that's going to do a tour of the dealerships around the country. I must say that it looks even better "in the flesh" and does look very nice in white with the black F Sport wheels and exterior trim. Had plenty of time to check it out. Was even able to fire it up and sample the delights of the new Infotainment system with the 14" screen which looks amazing.
  21. I too got the text message from Lexus Woodford (my local dealer with whom I have the order for the 350h) regarding the viewing today (27th) so will be popping along later today to take a look. Will be interesting to see what "variant"/specification of the NX they have on show.
  22. I have a 2022 NX350h on order with a current delivery date of mid-January (not very likely I know given the current state of affairs but I can at least dream 😀) so have been checking out provisional offers on trading in my current 2018 model (with 28k miles on it). I was pleasantly surprised to receive online valuations from both Cazoo and webuyanycar of around £27k (obviously sight unseen but I doubt that they will find too much wrong with the car for that valuation to be reduced by much). Seeing that I paid £31k for it in July 2019, that means it has depreciated by only £4K in that time which I think is very good. I wish I could take advantage of those offers now but as the new NX isn't available I'll need to sit it out. I'll be interested to see what the valuations are when the time comes and also what Lexus might offer me in part-exchange.
  23. Take a look at the recent YouTube videos that car reviewers have posted about the new NX. I'm sure that one or two that I have watched have compared the ride quality to the outgoing model - quite favourably if I remember correctly.
