Is it possible that only one of the USB ports has been configured for "data transfer" and the other one purely for charging? If so the only real solution here, should you wish to continue to use Android Auto (AA), would be to transfer the contents of your USB drive to your phone (assuming that you have sufficient capacity) and play them from within AA using an AA-compatible audio app installed on your phone such as VLC or Poweramp; etc.

Drip, drip drip
Andy B replied to Al D-Much's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Is there any evidence of a puddle or dampness in the interior of the car in that spot? Could it be a leak from the pipe that serves the rear window washer? Maybe the pipe has come loose somewhere? Just a guess. -
NX 2022 delivery date
Andy B replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
The missus and I took our grandson to Alton Towers for a few days this week. On the way home we passed the Toyota factory at Derby (where my car spent 4 long weeks prior to collection 😠) and coming out of the nearby slip road on the A50 was a car transporter carrying a full load of new NXs, so they are definitely not a figment of people's imagination 😄 In the 7 months I've owned mine and 4,500 miles driven so far, I still haven't seen another one on the road (apart from those above). To those waiting for their cars, I would say hang in there - it will be worth the wait. -
Hi all. I'm looking to purchase one of those hand held car dryers and wondered what ones would be recommended by the helpful folk on this forum. My requirements would be that it is fairly quiet (as I don't want to annoy the neighbours); it is relatively light and it has an air filter. Due to the fact that I live in an apartment, my garage and the location in which I typically wash the car is not that close to my home so running a power cord to it is out of the question. Can you get cordless, rechargeable, dryers? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

NX 350h 2022. Android Auto
Andy B replied to The Peoples Front's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
As has been mentioned already, not all Apps are available under Android Auto (AA). The Apps that AA can display on your car's screen (plus the order in which they appear) can be seen and customised via the AA settings on your phone. Under your phone's general settings there should be an option to change the AA settings. From there choose "Customise launcher" and make the preferred changes. YouTube Music should be one of the Apps offered here. -
Which Tyre Gauge and how Accurate
Andy B replied to Marlinleg's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I have this one too (thanks to @NemesisUKfor the recommendation a while ago) and am pleased with it. I especially like the fact that it's easy to insert into the tyre valve and easy to read. -
NX 450h+ electric and petrol range
Andy B replied to dts439's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Thanks for responding Ken. It's a pity that you can't use the 450h+ to its full potential after October and for the foreseeable future. Hopefully this won't be too long. At least with your NX being a PHEV you can adapt and "pick your poison" (EV or petrol hybrid or both) based on the fluctuations in prices of electricity and petrol. -
NX 450h+ electric and petrol range
Andy B replied to dts439's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Hi Ken. Are you saying that you are no longer charging the car and using it in EV mode? Have you reverted to using the 450h+ as purely a hybrid (i.e. similar to the 350h) now? Do you regret getting the PHEV? -
My garage is just about long enough to get my NX350h in but it's a very tight squeeze. So that I can get the car as close to the rear wall as possible (driving forward), I came up with the following contraption.... It's a piece of hardboard to which I have attached some foam cylinders (for want of a better word - it's the type of stuff that is used to insulate exterior pipework). As well as providing some cushioning, as the car "squeezes" up against it the foam is compressed which makes it move slightly - that way from within the car I know I have reached my limit. [Fortunately the most protruding part at the front of the NX is the number plate so hopefully not too expensive to fix if I overdo it a little] Might be a solution for others.

Quite a few people on this forum use a device called CPLAY2AIR. There are quite a few posts about it if you do a search, e.g..... I can't vouch for it as I use Android Auto but I believe that reviews have been favourable. Hope this helps.

I paid 167.1p a litre for E10 at Sainsburys in Enfield (North London) yesterday. Cheapest I've seen it for months.

Sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your NX @Stumpyuk After the long wait for it and then finding out that it has failed to meet your expectations must be quite demoralising. To answer your question "would I recommend a 2022 NX to a friend?" - I would have to say most definitely (purely from my own experience of course) and I don't regret buying it for one minute. Maybe my expectations\standards are slightly lower than yours but I love this car and can't really fault it. It's drives very nice; looks nice and has that air of luxury and amazing build quality IMHO. Mine isn't the PHEV version so I can't relate to your problems with charging it away from home (nor can I comment on the International auto-detect feature not working or the USB file sorting) but I can honestly say that I haven't encountered any of the other issues that you listed. My profile loads every time and my seating and other settings are restored correctly; the wireless charger works perfectly with my phone and I find the Infotainment system to be both functional and usable. Maybe I am one of the lucky ones. I don't share the car with anyone else so do not encounter the issues other people have faced with multiple users and profiles. My phone (a Samsung S10+) stays on the wireless charging pad and the Infotainment system does what I want it to do. There are one or two minor things that I think could improve it (and I'm really nit-picking here) such as wireless Android Auto; split screen capability in the Infotainment system and Google Maps directions in the HUD but these are trivial and may indeed be resolved by future software upgrades.

My NX350h has done just over 3,000 miles and the onboard computer is currently showing a total average mpg of 49.2 from new (I have never reset it). When I collected the car the mpg figure was 28 - I assume so relatively low due to the stop\start cycles and short distances driven when the car was being prepared by Lexus. So it's jumped quite considerably in 3,000 miles. On my typical 20 mile commute (some motorway\dual carriageway plus city roads) I achieve between 50 - 55 mpg and the percentage time spent & distance travelled in EV mode are both close to 60%. Very happy with that.

NX 450h+ electric and petrol range

I would take more notice of the Hybrid Coaching scores if it didn't miss out entire journeys or even days 🙄 -
A quick question for all the 2022 NX owners out there..... There have been reports on the US Club Lexus site about the compass in the HUD constantly showing North (N) and refusing to budge regardless of the direction of travel. I've just been out for a drive and noticed that mine is doing the same. Just wondered how widespread this problem might be and whether a recent software upgrade has introduced a bug. Do any other 2022 NX owners (with the HUD) on here have the same issue?

Andy B replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
@Mike0811 I wholeheartedly agree with @Ken R. I had a 2018 NX300h prior to my 2022 NX350h and loved it. In my opinion it would indeed be a worthy stopgap. Sure, the new model is better in many respects but the Gen 1 NX is still a lovely car. -
Infotainment/Sat Nav screen
Andy B replied to RXtoNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I agree - it seems like Lexus are simply trying to pull the wool over our eyes trying to justify the absence of something that they should have given us. In that case, why not give us a choice between full screen and split screen then? Having said that, I mainly use Android Auto so the layout of the native screen isn't a deal breaker for me - but I might use the native system more if it was split screen. -

Hi @Macray welcome to the forum. You state in your Profile that you have a NX450h+ with the Premium Plus pack. This should have given you 4 years free subscription to the iCloud navigation and other connected services. My NX350h has the Premium Plus pack and I get all of these services, such as real-time navigation and traffic alerts. I use Google Maps via Android Auto but the inbuilt Lexus nav system still gives me warnings of stationary or queueing traffic ahead. One thing to check...... have you activated Connected Services via the accompanying Lexus Link phone app (and also linked the app to your profile in the car)? Failing that, you're probably best to check again with your dealer. -
Wireless Android Auto
Andy B replied to Addh's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Unfortunately not I'm afraid. Not with Android Auto (wired or wireless) with Google Maps. Not yet anyway. Maybe Lexus will activate this with a future software upgrade. -
Wireless Android Auto
Andy B replied to Addh's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
David, I may be able to answer this for you. Due to the multiple combinations of Android phones and AA-compatible car headunits out there, the developers of the device had to offer a number of different configuration options to get the device to work with the vast majority of phone\headunit combinations. These options are configurable via the associated Android app that runs on the phone and include the ability to change the size (DPI - dots per inch) or shape of the AA display on the car's screen; the WiFi channel the device connects to the phone on and other settings that are highly specific to certain car manufacturers whose implementation of AA has been problematic for the AAWireless device (not Lexus I am pleased to report). The app also allows for these options to be ignored completely and for the device to work in "vanilla" mode, i.e. for AA to function in exactly the same way as if it was wired (i.e. no bells and whistles applied by the device itself). This is what Adam referred to as bypass mode (known as Passthrough mode in the settings). This is the setting I have on my device for my Lexus headunit (and I believe so does Adam) and it works fine. Long story short - you should not notice any difference in AA functionality using the device compared to a wired connection. -

I'm not exactly sure what the Carlinkit device offers but just to say the AAWireless device allows existing wired Android Auto (AA) functionality to become wireless (i.e. no need to connect the phone to a USB cable to run AA). If your car's headunit supports AA already then this device should work. I had it working fine on my previous (2018) NX with the touchpad. Please note that it doesn't make a non- AA headunit into one that supports AA. Hope this helps. -
Wireless Android Auto
Andy B replied to Addh's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
It's mainly for the convenience of not having to connect your phone to a USB cable everytime. Another advantage is that it helps to avoid any potential damage to the USB port on the phone from constant plugging in and out. Conversely it does have its disadvantages - higher than normal battery drain and the phone can get quite warm. -

Hi @addh I was one of the early backers for this device quite a while ago and can wholeheartedly recommend it too. Do you have a link for the short cable that you are using with it please as this would definitely make my setup a lot tidier? Thanks. -

@AdyR there are numerous posts on this forum regarding the (un)reliability and general worthiness of the app. It's very limited in what you can do with it and things like the last trip info and last parked location are very hit and miss. The US version of the app does offer a lot more functionality I believe, such as remote start. Having said that you should have the ability to pre-heat the cabin via the app (although I have never used it in my NX350h). On the first page of the app, under the image of the car and the fuel remaining percentage and mileage values you should see an icon that looks like a fan - pressing this will take you to another page where you can set the target temperature and duration. You can also turn on other things here such as the window defroster; the steering wheel heater and seat heaters (if fitted). Alongside the fan icon, you should also see a padlock icon - this allows you to lock/unlock the car remotely (again, not something that I have used in my car).
