  1. It's the USB A port. Here are the instructions on how to play music from the memory stick (click on each image below to enlarge it):- Hope this helps.
  2. Yes they can (by using the "Hey Lexus..." voice prompt). You can ask it (for example):- "Take me home" (if you set your home address as a "Favourite". Although for safety reasons it's probably best to set it a street or 2 away from your actual home) "Take me to 21 High Road Anytown" "Take me to AB12 3CD" (post code search) "Take me to Sainsburys" (and you'll get a list of stores ordered by nearest) More details on this should be found in the Infotainment user manual once you get hold of one.
  3. I can see what you're saying but there are other ways that the car can be stolen apart from the methods you have described so anything that may help you to recover it should the worse happen is a bonus, especially if it is provided free of charge. For example, my partner's neighbour had the keys to her Mercedes ripped out of her hand as she was going into her house on Sunday by 2 burly men who then drove off with the car. Fortunately the car had a tracker on it and was recovered within a few hours and is currently undergoing forensic checks. With regards to any potential insurance discount, I guess this is unlikely bearing in mind how most insurers see car owners as cash cows but who knows. My policy with Lexus Insurance is up for renewal next February so I'll wait and see.
  4. I can't recall if my previous Gen 1 NX had this facility. If the lights aren't there already then check for the blanking plates. However even if the plates are there then don't assume that all is well. You'll need to remove one of them to check whether the necessary wiring is in place (see photo #2 posted by @rado16v) as not all NX specs come with this.
  5. The tracker itself isn't activated until you report your car as stolen so it doesn't provide any day-to-day tracking functionality. It's the associated OBD device, that is usually fitted along with the tracker, that provides the realtime tracking capability (via the Tracker smartphone app). Assuming that Lexus have fitted this OBD device to your NX then the following post that I made on another, related, thread may help:- https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/148784-lexus-tracker/#comment-1369827
  6. Hi Pavan. Just registering my potential interest here. I'm guessing that you'd want to sell all 4 together however if that doesn't happen and you are willing to sell them separately then please let me know (I would only have enough room to store 1 or 2 at the most so can't take all 4). I am based in Essex also.
  7. For what it's worth, I have the cream on black interior and have no regrets choosing it. It looks quite classy in my opinion. The cream sections provide some brightness in the cabin without being too "in your face". With regards to keeping it clean - I had protective sealant applied to the seats; etc. by a professional detailer so the occasional wipe over with a clean damp microfiber cloth is all I need. I would recommend getting this done but would personally decline any offer from your dealer (Lexus?) to do this as they probably won't be as thorough as a professional. One advantage of the cream on black is that you're mostly sitting on the black part so dye from jeans; etc, shouldn't be a problem. Hope this helps.
  8. "Typically a week between driving" should be OK if you use the car regularly before this period of inactivity so as to get/maintain sufficient charge in the battery. For example, I use my NX350h on my commute 3 days a week which comprises of approximately 45 minute trips there and back (mostly A roads at 50 mph). With this usage I have no concerns leaving it idle for a week or 2 (and have done so with no issues). Any longer than that then I may have some slight worries and would have my jump start booster pack ready and waiting (although I have never had to use it yet). Just my experience but hope it gives you some crumbs of comfort. Taking all things into consideration, the Gen 2 NX is a great car IMHO.
  9. Maybe a misunderstanding or Lexus Bolton are "being economical with the truth" - there is definitely an OBD port on the Gen 2 NX.
  10. I would agree with @Tickedon Gen 2 NXs in North America (and other territories I believe) offer wireless Android Auto so the hardware is already in place. Whether it will ever be enabled by a software update here in the UK remains to be seen.
  11. Yeah, CarPlay users (once they get this particular OTA update from Lexus) will get the option to hide or show the Lexus Interface sidebar icons when the screen is running CarPlay. This is achieved by pressing the "expand\collapse" icon that appears at the top of the CarPlay sidebar. Makes it quicker to jump out of CarPlay and go to the Lexus Interface functions. Not sure if that functionality will be coming for Android Auto as well but as an AA user, I'm not fussed either way.
  12. The ability to hide or show the native Lexus Interface sidebar alongside CarPlay is indeed enabled by a software update from Lexus. I've seen reports of NX owners in North America getting it a while ago. Looks useful I guess. Currently not available for us Android Auto users though.
  13. Here are the instructions from the user manual detailing how to do this (page 32 of the PDF version):-
  14. I had the Lexus supplied tracker and the OBD device fitted to my NX so I may be able to help you with the process of getting it all working with the Tracker app. It's the OBD device that you need to associate with the app (which will then allow you to view the car's location; set geofence parameters; view previous trips; etc.). Therefore you will need to know the serial number and security token for the OBD device. In my case I received an email from Tracker approximately 2 weeks after fitment with all of these details provided so that I could get the app working. If you don't receive anything from Tracker in the next few days (and you definitely have the OBD device fitted), I would contact Tracker on 0345 602 2356. Hope this helps.
