youve got a Lex mate..it aint the engine mount.... :winky: the only engine mount that has gone on me was a 78 Chrysler alpine..started it one morning and there was a big (very big) clunk ...engine mount had gone and said engine was being propped up by the tarmac....

just a really weird shape im afraid.........ugly even...doesnt even look that practical..for dogs get something 'normal' :winky: (would you really want to put dogs in a Lex... :shutit: )

All dealerships were flogging them (even down south) last year as come kind of promotional sporty thing...then the market collapsed..nearly got one myself

they are not just insurance jobs......the police can add a 'marker' to ANY vehicle they have intelligence on.......ie suspected burglars,drug dealers,stolen vehicles...absolutely anything and once it pings the ANPR it stands a chance of getting pulled..brilliant piece of kit and mainly targeted at the travelling criminal as for insurance, dead easy to set up a direct debit, get your certificate and then cancel payments immediatley...in the old days they would just produce the insurance certificate and get away with it...big scam was getting pulled given and given a producer.. pop into a insurance broker and after a cash in hand deal walk out with a backdated cover note....

For what its worth I think that superguarding was a good investment and will have it done to the new one. people slag off superguard but mine was done two years ago when i got the car (by Lexus) and it still looks the business after a basic wash

for once a foreign police force can learn from us..... one warning for anti social driving in the UK....and next time your car gets seized and you get hit with a big hit to get it back... not too many boy racers around now you may notice plus the no insurance seizures are brilliant..ANPR..great piece of kit, also DVLA doing the rounds and seizing cars with no tax, looks like we are finally getting a grip in this country

the discs / pads are working fine. Just been to Gatwick and back with 5 on board plus a roofbox and braking was as good as ever. Just didnt like the rust effect. I had a new Mazda6 a few years ago and they rusted from new, just looks naff.

I got some mintex pads and some no name discs of ebay..anyway the hub part of the discs started rusting to hell. Looked awful on the rears as the hub is quite wide and visible and as the weeks went on I was drawn towards the acres of rust that were appearing. Im not the only one it appears..amazing how many IS200'S there are with same Issue..simply cosmetic I know. Ive just painted them with hammerite silver smooth and all is now sorted but I could have done without the bother to be honest.

the wheels and tyres were all very low on tread the highest being 4 mm in tread that shouldnt have been a suprise surely there couldnt have been much more tread on when you purchased it...that might have started the alarm bells ringing with me how much did you pay for it...a Lexus dealer would be asking £5-6k plus I would imagine for an up together 02 with 1 year warranty , serviced etc

best of luck to be fair they gave me a nice new GS300 everytime mine went in so that kind of smoothed the way Dazz let me know how you get on with the shocks...mine knocks more in warmer weather, dont know if the viscocity of the oil in them changes with the temperature...causing more knocking when warmer than cold? just a theory Just got through an MOT and nothing failed so mystery remains

perhaps we can go up in convoy.....might get a discount for driving all the way up from Dorset :winky: seriously if there is anywhere in sunny Dorset that does the geo to the same standard I might be interested

does 60k service include cam belt ? I negotiated a free 60k service when i got the car..want to make sure thats included

tell them you want another shock to go with the new one..they should be fitted in pairs..another typical Lexus shortcut....

I know should have done it when I got the car however its a pain in the arris for me to get up there and can i really justify the fuel and the cost for slight inner wear over 2 years. answer no...so if i can get another 2 years from them i will be happy as the chances are the car will be part ex history by then. So supposing I swap them will they need any sort of balancing..or straight swap

anyone rotate their tyres..im 10k in on the current set and have inner tyre wear on the fronts.Not serious but noticeable. Rears are ok. If I swap the fronts with the backs will i need to get them re-balanced
