out of interest what sort of 0-60 time can you get out of a supercharged IS200

If your only getting 38mpg on a motorway then i'd take it back to your dealer as they state IS 220d SE fuel economy figures: extra-urban 58.9mpg (4.8L/100km), urban 39.8mpg (7.1L/100km), combined 50.4mpg (5.6L/100km).

It looks as new as a new thing and they mentioned they had done tensioners...it was free (as was the 60k service) so I guess the servicing dept would have no issue in doing the business and billing the sales team for there untruths when selling me the motor 2 years back B)

test drive both, the insignia is car of the year 2009 and has lots of extras available but I don't know at what cost, nor do I know if they have a quality feel

Lexus do make a nice badge, but it takes a bit more than that nowdays

I used to like Vauxhalls but deary me they really are a complete pile of poo nowadays . We use them at work, major gear box and transmission problems and really poor build quality throughout the range..electrics are poor and bits fall off on a regular basis

The police dont run the courts,the police dont sit on juries,the police are not magistrates....4 days in court and a re-trial isnt the fault of the police..

the police got your case to court didnt they......the CPS are a different institution as are the magistrates / crown court but i guess blaming the police makes you feel better eh

The only reason all the police and helicopter was there was beacuse so many people had phoned the police and they were saying it was a riot with hammers and baseball bats which is aload of crap. There was only the 3 youths and 3 of us there, all the other people were passers by and customers that were stood doing nothing.

BUT the police are just as bad because we seen the lad that got away in the village a few days later and when we contacted the police so they could come and arrest him and they said they had already made AN APPOINTMENT to go and see him! what a joke, he had commited assault surely he shud of been arrested as soon as they knew of his where abouts but i suppose that would of inconvienienced the police!

We have to go through it again when it goes to crown court because other wise they can put a summons on us and have us arrested then giving us a criminal record, but after that... never again as i now know how crap the court system is.

It just worrys me that we have to bring up our kids in this society, give it some time (not much) and you will not be able to walk out your door without being attacked, mugged or stabbed by some gang of chavs... and its the police, courts and parents fault that it has ended up this way...

Clearly you wanted the instant hit of the police turning up and resolving the situation when it happened but you really cant be arsed to see the case the case through...to the bitter end...

Perhaps there wouldnt be so many people being attacked, mugged or stabbed by chavs as you put it, if people like you had the resolve to persist with the court process.

How old is the boy?? Police are a waste of time! I wouldnt call them now unless my life depended on it!

My partner owns a fish and chip shop and back in July 2008, 3 youths came in, they was putting the tomato sauces off the counter in their pocket so he asked if they were going to pay for them, then they started to get abusive so he asked them to leave, one stood outside and put his foot in the automatic doors to stop them closing, still shouting abuse, so James (my partner) walked around the counter up to him and told him to go, i was stood next to him aswell, the boy carried on with the abuse etc, calling me a slag and every thing, not that we had ever seen them before!!

So any ways, the other 2 boys come out of the shop and stood next to their friend who was still blocking the door, he then punches James 3 or 4 times (knowing they are underage James just keeps walking towards them) another one of the friends join in and start bouncing around like Mike Tyson! and joins in, by this point James brother in law has seen what was happening, runs down from upstairs with some wood and chases one of them away from James, James pushes the other one on the floor, kicks him a few time Although i think he has kept his cool pretty well by this point! the 3 lads run off down the road, theres a bit more of a scuffle down in a nearby road... by this point loads of people had stopped and the police had been called by more than 30 people!

Every police car in weston was there, and the police heli copter looking for them, one was found hiding in the chemist bin by a police dog, the other one was under a car and the other one got away to his nearby flat...

Cut a really long story short it all went to court in December 2008, We had CCTV of everything that had happend, the boy that started it was 16, the other one was 16 and the other one was 18.

In court we had to stand up on a stand infront of the skanky chavy lads with their skanky mothers and give evidence of what had happend. well i would never ever do it again. they twisted every word i said, their solicitors (because there was 3, one each) all would call you a liar, say it was James fault that it happend, they were just local lads that came to buy some chips and they were assaulted by James. THEY TWIST EVERYTHING!!!! its sickening.

I was on the stand being questioned for 3 hours and james was up there for about 6 hours. They tried to make out that butter wouldnt melt in their mouths and even said that we should be the ones in the dock for attacking these innocent youths :o :tsktsk: :megaangry: ,

After a 4 day trial, one lad got found NOT GUILTY and his skanky mother had cheak to stand up and claim costs of £10 a day lunch money although mc donalds was further to walk than their house!!!!!!!!! :tsktsk:

The other one (18 year old) Got found not guilty of assault and guilty of a public order offence and got a ridiculous fine!

And the ONE who originally started it got found GUILTY of public order offence and of assault

AND got a stupid thing of about a week on TAG

Well I had a phone 3 days ago, the lad who got found guilty of assault is apealing it and now we have to go to crown court and give all our evidence again infront of a judge in stead of magistrates.....

So..... if he is under 18 (or over!!) he would go to court, you would get treated like the you were the one that had commited a crime and he will walk away smiling because u cant proove it was him!

So its up to you, either deal with him your self, or record him doing it on camera and hope for the best....

BUT my opinion is the police and court systems are a waste of time!!!!! The police officer working our case even told us that the prisons are full so unless its a really serious offence they will get a smack on the wrist and told not to do it again!!!!!

Bearing this in mind, one of the lads that got found not guilty of assault on James, 2 weeks previous to everything happening, he put a 6 inch knife to James' Niece's throat (she had CCTV evidence and the police found the knife) and he went to court and got put on TAG for 3 months.

SO HOW seriuos has the offence got to be before something is actually done about it???... No wonder society is the way it is now!

please tell me where the police are at fault here?..they found the offenders took them to court and got them convicted..its the judge/magistrates who decides the sentence not the police.

Reading this its clear the police did a brilliant job...every car in weston turned up, dogs and a helicopter and you still say they are a waste of time...what more did you want..

What I am saying, albeit confusingly, is that when I cut down the amount of walking I did the sciatic pain stopped. Yes, I am aware that impact exercises hurt your back but I never thought of walking as an impact exercise, however, I am still painfree and very pleased about it.

i apologise with how my post came over.. have you thought of an MRI scan. There is a bit of a wait on the NHS but sciatic pain when walking points towards a disc problem.

Last November I trapped a cyatic (sorry about the spelling!!) nerve, never had pain like it, it really really hurt (and I have done some mad things to my body over the years, seriously mad things...)

The reason was my weight so onto a strict diet and exercise, I couldn't even walk a mile with out being out of breath........ Now 3 to 4 months on I run 3 miles 5 times a week and have lost 5 stone, now a fairly healthy and consistent 14st 11. Only draw back is if I touch the alcohol the I get drunk in only 6 pints.... what a light weight. But far happier being lighter!!

Exercise and eat PROPERLY and your whole life will change for the better, I promise you. Thats my experience anyway.

ive been a runner for 20 odd years...... apart from my back (which was due to an injury at work) ive found running to be the best exercise out. My tips are to try and run off road (heath etc) when you start your run, run very very slowly...you dont need to leap out of the door...your slowness in front of your neighbours may be embarassing to you but within a mile you will be warmed up. You dont need to exercise / stretch before a run... just start off slowly.

I cycle because i now cycle to work. Get home and go for a run......you can then eat what you like but 6 pints will still do you in

either a cambelt is a 60k requirement or not....how can dealers make up servicing requirements?

Can anyone confirm this. Rang ref 60k service and was told the cambelt change was included in a 60k service.

There has been confusion over the 60 or 100k cambelt change but are all Lexus dealers now stating 60k service includes cambelt change

i am just about ready to fit a full set of shockers, on my as200 altezza. the new ball joints cured the rattle type noise, but i still get the knocking noise on rough roads, i am expecting the new shockers to cure this.

do you mind posting back with the results... :winky:

The knocking noise is the Inner oil valve of the shock absorber....ive had this complaint for the last 2 years originally the front shocks were replaced under warranty.( but the car is out of warranty now )..but alas they still knock.....so i went to an independent garage ( someone i know ) and they agree after hearing the noise going for test drive up on the ramp and checking ALL other parts of the engine bay suspension etc ,that it was the inner oil valve of the shock absorber........

So my next option is to get some new coilovers OR new front shocks absorbers like Bilstein etc.........

i think you have hit it on the head....Lexus 'apparently' did my shocks under warranty..(but i dont think they did!!)- .. its got to be the answer

problem is its just a noise..thats all, a bloody annoying one but something i cant really afford to throw loads of sponds at when i may get rid in a year or so

when i brokered this free service with the centre principal i stated cam belt as well and he agreed but it never appeared in the paperwork....it would be nice to have something concrete about cambelt at 60k just to make them do it

I havent seen too many negative comments on the 250 on here other than creaking dash, the auto seems top notch.

I nearly got one so did some major research..auto seems the way to go

60k or 6 years, think it used to be 100k and 10 years but then they changed it, so if it's not been done i'd deffo get it done sooner rather than later mate.

just had my 80,000 service done they quoted me £438 when i asked about the loyalty discount got the price down to £310. timing belt is 60,000 miles unless you didnt get it done then

are Lexus saying the timing belt is defo 60k ..some people say they just do a visual at 60k

Loads of IS200'S here in deepest Dorset, all being driven very sedately by elderly motorists. On average I see at least 5 a day. The place is minted and one Lexus dealer told me that the hardest thing was getting the buggers out of them and into the IS250.

I dont think its happening, I dont see any oldies in IS250's... what i do see is plenty of oldies going to the new mercedes c class and that must be a worry for Lexus.

There has been a suggestion on here that it may be a shock absorber....something to do with a valve or something inside. I have noticed that temperature effects my knock, so if its a shock it may be to do with oil viscocity inside it.

Someone on here was looking at changing their shocks to see if it cured the knock but i dont recall who it was.

I had a few issues and Lexus actually went into overdrive to sort them ....after a fight. You may find the sales staff will go cool on you if its a recent purchase..avoid these muppets......as far as they are concerned you are now a non entity
