IS200t sport owners manual
doog442 replied to barryb's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
It arrived this morning and its simply the quick quide....I give up and will carry on with the pdf on the phone which is a right pain. Still It's nice of Lexus to think of the environment, perhaps they could have used recycled material in their manuals or something. Its odd, Mini ditched the leather folders but you still get a stonking great handbook, Lexus do the complete opposite. I know what I would rather have ! -
Did you guys run in your IS200t?
doog442 replied to barryb's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I can't really help. Mine had 1800 miles on it and was 10 months old on collection, although it was given a first year service - oil change etc. Just don't drive it like you stole it -

IS200t sport owners manual
doog442 replied to barryb's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I had an e mail from the dealer today that its online only for the IS200t ..(.an IS300h one turned up when they attempted to get one.) This was the e mail from Lexus.....I presumed the last sentence meant they were available but seemingly not ! Thank you for your email regarding your Lexus IS200t. As part of Lexus’ commitment to improving the environment, we’ve moved our owner’s manuals online. You can easily access and download the relevant owner or navigation manual for your vehicle by clicking here and signing up to a My Lexus Portal account: http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/your-lexus/#MyLexusCustomerPortal It may be that you can obtain a hard copy of your vehicle's owner's manual by ordering one through your local Lexus Centre, but this will come at a cost to yourself. You will need to contact them directly to discuss ordering a manual for your vehicle. -
IS200t sport owners manual

I have the same problem. I contacted Lexus UK who confirmed it was digital but a hard copy could be ordered by the dealer. I've asked the dealer to do this and am awaiting it. I'm old school. I downloaded the digital version but its bloody difficult to use.....a step back if you ask me but at least the car still has a dip stick -
It seemed far too easy :-) Don't worry, I lack the expertise to mess with this stuff...I've also just come from a 135i so have got the daft numbers out of the system. I also prefer my cars unmolested.

My IS200t is Celestial black with black wheels....Just getting used to the black wheels. I didn't learn my lesson from my last car buy hey ho when black is detailed it looks the business. The wheels seem to dull to a matt black when dirty, haven't noticed a brown tinge yet but I guess I haven't left it long enough..

Interesting When I bought my IS200t a few weeks back I was told (by a main dealer employee) there was an after market option to tune it to 300 bhp...I guess this is it?.. https://www.tdi-tuning.co.uk/car_and_van_petrol_tuning_boxes/lexus/is_/200t_241_bhp__244_ps__179_kw_/lexus_is_200t_241_bhp_244_ps_179_kw_crtd4_multichannel_petrol_tuning_box_chip_P11342.html

Might be a build up of rust on the outer edge of the disc rubbing against the disc plate. You will be surprised how this is mistaken for brake issues and even bearings - cost nothing to fix and worth discounting. If its a sticky caliper you will feel the heat transferred onto the alloy wheel after a short run. You would expect the disc to be warm but not the alloy - worth a go.
-
It could be a sticky brake caliper (the pulling) or a build up of rust on the rear discs (outer circumference) rubbing against the back plate causing the noise. Drive the car for 20 minutes then feel the alloys...if the alloy itself is warm/ hot it may be a caliper.

Surely 'light misting' is an indication of the unit failing in its own right. Although the shocks may continue to function and can pass an MOT they have technically failed from the moment the misting has occurred or been identified. If a water pump was to develop a leak it would be replaced under warranty as mentioned above. You don't wait until the pump actually gives up and strands you in the middle of nowhere. The fact the advisory was noted on an MOT is actually decent evidence. If they want to argue over the use of the word unexpected then surely it was unexpected when it was noted on the MOT.
-
Apologies believe it or not I've just had a letter arrive today to confirm...in my case 2 years running concurrent with the rest of the warranty.

I believe there is a fee after 12 months according to my handbook (a very reasonable rate) it states.

wierd creek from cabin ventilation
doog442 replied to 200h's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
That's a great result and I hope it fixes things. Having just returned from BMW ownership and having read countless threads on failed coil packs / Injectors / Turbos / waste gate rattles / overheating etc its nice to get back to dashboard creaks and not that much else ...oh yeah and the odd caliper sticking. Can you update when its done - it will be nice to know the exact cause. -

Looking very nice, would have loved that colour if available within my price range. I've got 31 mpg on the clock after 250 miles of mixed driving but very early days for me yet. -
Does anyone know if the price for the plan is fixed for the three years or can Lexus hit me with a low baller should prices go even higher.

I meant more sales than the 70 this year...there are petrol heads who would naturally gravitate towards a such a motor. A 4 cylinder turbo is simply too mainstream when BMW are still pumping out the N55 engine to great effect. -

I love it and I've just come from a 3 litre twin turbo 135i that was probably wasted on me in the performance stakes. That aside its no slouch and is every bit as smooth as both the straight six I had in my old IS200 and the BMW. I didn't need the hybrid as my mileage is minimal and this really ticks all the boxes i need. I was told they were discontinuing production when in talks with a dealer, however he was pushing me towards a more expensive motor so it might need firming up. I have the sport, it may be the sport is being discontinued. The engine is borrowed from the NX200t and flipped 90 degrees and is still advertised on the main site so perhaps he was talking BS. Watch this space I guess. -

We have the 2 litre turbo (I've just bought one) although I was told they were stopping production here ! I think they are missing a trick in not giving us the 3.5. The 2 litre turbo isnt selling well at all...only 70 registered this year at the last check and I wonder if its because its 4 cylinder.... a gruntier V6 like the US have would pull in more I'm sure. -
They pointed out the IS200t service schedule hadn't been published yet but said it was similar to the IS300h... Having looked at the service schedule / book for my car they are right - no mention of the IS200t....come on Lexus sort it out. However the major (Full) service includes changing Oil, brake fluid (as expected),Air filter (as required) coolant and front and rear differential oils, Transmission Oil !! as well as batteries on the fobs, pollen filter etc. Although expensive the full service does appear to be far more comprehensive than anything the BMW had.
-
I've been quoted £1225 for two full services, one Intermediate and two MOT's..payable over 33 months interest free. This is bang in line with the Lexus fixed servicing costs but charging £45 for both MOT's. Has anyone negotiated a discount. I didn't buy the car new -its just had its first service early as part of the sale. I do very low miles and have several dealers to play with as such. Any tips ?

Decent run back from the dealers in the IS200t..averaged 32mpg, mixture of City traffic and busy stop start rural B roads over a couple of hours. Great handling, sport mode is bang on the button -very responsive if needed from the 2 litre turbo. The cabin is an extremely nice place to be, the quality is evident as usual ...really chuffed to be back in a Lexus after my two year break with BMW. -

Main dealer IS200t Sport -65 plate 1900 miles . Also a decent part ex from someone who knew what they were talking about as well, made the deal very palatable . Happy days and worth the drive up there in the end. I guess I'll need to start looking at service packs etc. -
