That explaination from Wikipedia: doesnt explain whether mica = metallic or not.

Sometime the dealer can solve issue while other times they can't.
I say if you can live with it then live with it. I'd rather try my best and live with it and enjoy the car than constantly having to hasle myself by taken it back to the dealer. That and also i have a problem with trusting people with my pride and joy...

I can understand the frustration. I don't drive the car that often as it's really my wife's but i hear the sounds from the dash too (although mine is more of a buzzing sound than a crackling one).
My wife seem to not mind it at the moment so i think i might let it ride for now.
I truely agree and somewhat think that Lexus should have these minor problems dealt with during QA testings. To me it's still the most luxurious car dollar for dollar and i still recon i've made a good choice in buying it but yeh I'm abit disappointed also...

The spending of 25K+ and using rags to fix things is smart i recon. I have these lttle noise too but i'm not sure about the analogy of the paper ...
I have a trust thing with people with my property and i would only get my car fixed if i have too.
I will try and put a cloth in between the dash and glass and drive with it to see if indeed that's what causes the noise before deciding that to do.

As someone said, comfort omes first and for me there isnt a doubt about it.
If i were looking for a manual, i would not have gotten the Lexus.

My previous car was a Honda and it had a pearl spec metallic paint.
Looking at the Is250, just wondering if anyone can confirm whether it is metallic paint or not because from the naked eye i feel it lacks abit of metalic-ness to it.
I look at the lexus site and it has metallic paint as standard???
Also whaty is mica paint?

I think they forgot to put it in as a feature. BMWs and mercs has it.
Not just BMs and Mercs, can't think of a car that doesn't have it
Too right, but why think of other cars for? it'll only make you more sad....

It's a standard feature in the IS 250 & 350 in the States, so why not in Europe and Australasia?
Because lexus were initially made for the US and so the US practically designed it... :winky:

Well today i took notice of any noise and it seem the speakers in mine also makes little rattling noise, only little though.
At first i was beginning to this it was due to sound distortion but not to be. I hope things gets or nothing gets worse as i hate to bring it to the dealer for such little noise.

I had examined my buzzing sound and it seem to be due to the dash loose fitment. Putting something to hold the dash firmly in place will get rid of the dash noise.
