Thanks Steven, im playing it by ear will see how it goes over the new days or weeks maybe lucky it might be OK, out of curiosity where did you source your battery from and is it an AGM battery?

Hey All, Thought i'd put this out here as it might help others as well or have similair experience with this error message. I tried to search but maybe i didnt find it in the search section or clearly misread ( most likley the later 😄) but it's not everyday the lexus gives me trouble ( in fact it hasnt for many years) but this message - Check VGRS popped up on my dash a few days ago after the car had not been driven for a few days (as the exhust driver side back box fell off!! thats another story, different post) in this cold weather. Well it was odd as the car unlocked and had some sign the battery had life but sterring rack didnt move nor the centre console light up, but boot opened and some lights on the dash worked (didnt check windows) so after I jump started the car - which btw i didnt know you could do from the under the bonnet too (untill I googled it) its been fine and running ok for a couple of days, checked with volt meter and its showing 12.1V so all looks and sounds good unless this is lower than expected, please do tell. I think i know what caused it, my daughter left the interior lights on and it must have been on straight for 3 days, as i said the exhaust fell off and i waited till the weekend so left the car on the driveway for a few day untill i could get the backbox off completely before driving it to exhaust guys. it is the original panasonic battery , is this an early sign i need to change it or did the fact the lights and cold weather casued the battery to delplete and by me jump starting it, its back to normal OR will i find randomly one day it just wont start? The original batteries are mega £££s - crazy prices. hope it helps someone and thanks in advance to my question

Also wanted to add, I sourced a few sellers selling used ones that have these in stock as of today and also found an ebay seller selling brand new original shock absorber for £239 delivered but cannot get them till end of November If anyone is interested , please message me and I will pass on the details.

Thanks for getting to me, you dont by chance happen to have a link for After searching and lexus parts on back order I managed to source a used one for £60 complete assembly with springs, makes changing over easy. For this price I was happy and prepared to change it over to pass the MOT. Fingers crossed this works. Heres a picture of what it looks pretty clean and the mechanic seemed happy with it.

hello LOC 😀 As lovely as the car is the shocks are are a right nightmare 🙃to source especially if its not Lexus. what are thoughts to used shock absobers are they worth the hassle of not? seems ebay has options but still shocking prices. any alternatives to other sources, though i have seen and read using GS300 shocks will work as long as we leave the electronics connected but wont actually do anything nor light up the dash and of course the button wont work.. any advice welcomed even if it means biting the bullet and getting from Lexus.....

Agree with Martins points Ito o have replaced i seized caliper, the dash creaks but there are ways to soften the noise/ had rust on the bonnet edge but was repaired fro free under Lexus warranty recently the car passed MOT 2 weeks ago and no suspension issues so far fingers crossed but i do have the same feeling like it a ticking time bomb servicing is pretty much the same as any other car if non dealership servicing the rest is down to how heavy your right foot is

good job. How easy do these prob shaft bearings go or do you need to drive like certain style for these to wear out

Thanks John. I was considering the conductive glue my self makes life easier and ensures a good connection. out of curiosity what seal did you use to seal the unit, was it the normal off the shelf bathroom type sealant?

I have the old one taken off and followed the instructions on this tread and have been able to take the battery out which is identical as shown in OP's Pictures, but im some what confused why i would I need a tagged battery and not a standalone 2450 battery and solder on to the battery. The one i have taken out seems it was soldered at the contacts points only and the rest well glued to the unit. will post pictures to explain but if someone or the OP can tell me what they did after it may help

an update from me too I got mine sorted 😀 though i did no go to kwik fit as originally intended. I was able to source a genuine part from a company called Yam6 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-NEW-TOYOTA-LEXUS-TYRE-PRESSURE-SENSOR-42607-50011-4260750011/263057936344 was able to get this down to £65 which s not too bad and the tyre guy charged £10 and got it programmed so now all sorted.

can the TPMS be disabled altogether as in turn it off?

Good idea will try and keep the old one and see If i can open it up and chnage the battery (which looks simple enough ) should the others do happen to play up
