  1. I have two nearly worn out tyres on my car and 2 relatively new ones they are all bridgestone potenzas.

I dont particularly like this tyre as grip is rubbish (wheel spinning frequently). I have heard good things about toyo on this site but my question is could I just replace the 2 back tyres for now as the fronts are ok, and replace the front bridgestones with toyos when they are worn??

    :)

  2. The Hiper was something like 8bhp quoted and the Drager 6 - 8 I think?

I've got to admit I prefer Jap exhausts on Jap cars, and I believe the Kazuma has the qualities of one of the best Jap exhausts that has now been removed from the market!

Thanks aido. I think after your summary the Drager (the quieter HKS one) is probabaly what I like- it should be ok for the 300? if the Kazama is the same kind of bhp increase? and similar size? i dont mind that either. Are Kazama Japanese?

  3. I'm definately not the brightest spark when it comes to mods! as I've never modded before

So are these back boxes likely to increase bhp? and will it effect mpg? I'm certainly not looking for something loud thats why I thought the peco was a good choice (after reading Zee's review), also the diameter is 100mm which is not too in yer face...

If you guys recomend these I will probabaly go it... any deals going ??

    cheers

  4. I thinking of getting a new back box for my is300, but dont know what would fit simply. Would the peco big bore 4 be a good choice? On the peco site it does not state is300 just is200. They also have a jap section not sure what they are like though. Any recomendations??? Will the peco increase overall bhp by 5bhp??

    Cheers

  5. Just tried T Cut ... its too deep :( does nothing...

What would you guys do.... try to repair it or give it back and see what happens? Anyone had something like this happen to them?

I guess the dealer has nothing to lose as its my insurance poilcy, so the will just claim at will!

  6. Thing is mudzs the scratch spans over the whole of the back door... its a red yaris so is very visible 'cos its quite deep. Not sure what to do, I did thinking about doing nothig and see what happens, but when I got the car I signed a paper in which he stated the current condition of the car... and the scratch is totally obvious!

got a quote from chipsaway and it was 235 inc VAT

if I got hold of the tw*t who did it...........

  7. arrrgggghhhhhhhh I cant believe just dropped off my car for minor bodywork repair and picked up the courtesy car.... parked up to popped into a shop came back and some f***ing to**er mofo keyed the loan car all across that back door!!!!!! Im so gutted and sick!! why are there such people around! :tsktsk:

Anyway I dont want to give it back to lexus like this they will probabaly charge me a fortune, or claim under insurance as that will cost me 300 in excess as I had to insure it under my policy... what do you guys think give chipsaway a call and get it done before giving the loan car back?

  8. Yeah I'll ring my insurance company today to make sure I'm covered. The loan car is a yaris so they probabaly wont charge me. However when I owned a vw before, they never charged me to insure their loan cars when in for a service etc, particulary bad in this case as they are sorting out problems which they should have sorted in the first place! oh well on the whole the dealer has been quite good and friendly.

    thanks for the replies.

  9. Hi All,

Just got my is300 (what a great car it is :) well chuffed!). Anyway when I bought it it had some door dents (minor ones), paint run on one of the doors (wierd!) and chipped paint (all of which I didnt notice on the test drive!). The lexus dealer didn't repair it on pick up but when I mentioned it they said they will do the work anytime I'd like. Fair enough I thought so I am booking the car in for the work to be done. Now they will provide a courtesy car for me for the 2 or 3 days it will take for them to carry out the repair but said I have to insure the courtesy car... is that right?? Is that how it works usually in your experience?

    Cheers

  10. I'm scared to go in for a service (aka fleecing :) ) now!

By the way Immx, how old is your car ?

By the way went into Kwik fit as I had a puncture, engineer (term used very very loosely!) took 1:15 mins to change 1 tyre ---- t**ts! going to formula1 now to get the other 3 done!

  11. Thanks immx, i'll be intested to see how you get on.

Buying a 3 service package seems like a bargain. £670 quid for 3 services, not bad considering Leicester have quoted me around £410 for 40K and £600 for the 60K service. Pricing just seems all over the place!!! :(

Ive seen some import companies selling 350Z for a little over 20K thats got to be worth the money! but then again maybe its worth waiting and seeing what the new IS series will be like in 2005... decisions decisions :)

  12. Not a bad idea actually!! get some nice french hypermaket booze on the way back too!

Service includes everything stated on the lexus manual (according to the service manager anyway)

Anyone have any experience in woodford's service quality? I did notice that they don't do gold discount.

  13. Can't believe the variation in service cost, here are my quotes for 40k service:

    Leics £410

    Notts £360 :yack:

    Woodford £260 :D

Leicester always seems to charge way over the odds. If anything labour market should be slightly cheaper than london (woodford); what a con!
