I have been told by 2 garages including Toyota that the output should be above 12.5 with a load so I would welcome any comments on this.
The Battery has only died once, I am getting a ctek charger for the yellow top and I will charge it and put it back in possibly as a secondary Battery.
I will check the boot light thanks, no auxilary items apart I have the navigator is200 sport, before the Battery failed I did notice the cd player acting strange and even came up with alarm at one point.

I have replaced the Alternator on my is200 after my yellow top Battery died after 8 months, the new voltages that the Alternator is putting out is 14.15 and 12.56 on load does this sound correct?
The garage thinks it could be a power drain if the problem continues, if anyone can suggest how to find the power drain that would be great. I will check the fuses etc and make sure nothing is left.
Does the alternator output sound correct?

Had my Yellow top for 8 months and it died on me

Yes it is extortion I actually couldn't help myself from laughing when the guy said £900 fitted! I have managed to source one for £65 including delivery not brand new but a good saving.
Does anyone know how easy these are to fit for a novice or should I take it to a garage, my Toyota garage won't fit parts that I bring in probably so they can sell me the parts at daft prices. They wanted £720 for 4 shock absorbers, so I sourced them from buypartby at a mere £200. I can not say what is wrong the garage prices but the one closest to me won't even take Lexus in!

Well if you think that is expensive try a quote for £650 from toyota for a genuine and £500 for an aftermarket one!
Does anyone know anywhere I can buy one from at a reasonable price?
This happened to me this week, I took it to the garage and they confirmed it is the alternator which would lead to the Battery not charging. I had a Optima Yellow Top Battery only had it 8 months and I am sure its not the Battery.

Well I actually brought this Battery and it died on me 8 months later got told it was the alternator etc but if it isn't bigger to run the car then that will be why.
I can always use it as a second Battery now that I already have it
So from your opinions do you think that this Battery is not powerful enough to run the car?
