  1. Judging by the photos I found on Google, some have a Disc/Aux button under the CD slot, or if it's the same as the other Lexus cars I've had, the Mode button on the steering wheel should cycle through the different sources.
  2. Mine are also on the lowest setting but will come on going under a tree on a sunny late afternoon. They also come on going under any bridge. My previous car was a Skoda and that was much better. I think the difference is that the Skoda waits for a second or two before deciding whether to turn the lights on, that would give you time to pass under a narrow bridge or a tree without them coming on. I think this is what the Lexus system needs. It would also be nice to be able to turn the auto lights off and let me choose for myself. I also can't find the right setting for the wipers, I think the setting I want is somewhere between the first and second setting. If I set them to anything other than low sensitivity they seems to be constantly trying to wipe a screen that's dry. If I put them on the lowest setting, as I speed up they decide to wait until the screen is covered until wiping. I've found that flipping between the 2 settings gives me a reasonable compromise. By comparison, I rarely had to change the setting on the Skoda, except in extreme conditions. Having said that, it's a much nicer car than the Skoda and I can forgive it these relatively small problems.
  3. I've got a 300h and agree with Ten Ninety, it suits a relaxed driver. It can pick up it's skirts and go in Sports mode, but it doesn't really feel like it's accelerating hard. Fortunately, it's pretty much ideal for me.
  4. I've got Michelin CrossClimates on my GS. I can't say they are any quieter than the ones that it came with, but the noise does not seem so harsh so it's easier to ignore. I think they've cut some of the higher frequency noise. They only do XLs in the size I needed and there is more vibration coming through the steering wheel now, but I wouldn't say the ride is noticeably worse. I haven't tried them in the snow, but in cold wet weather they do corner with confidence and I haven't felt them lose grip or concern me in any way. I think if I could have got non-XL tyres they would really suit the car, but there is a bit of a compromise with the vibration because they are XLs. You could say it helps you to feel more connected to the road though.
  5. Good choice. I've had mine about 4 months now and love it.
  6. I've had my GS300h for a couple of months now and found the sign recognition to be unreliable. Mine also misses signs and misreads them, the highest speed I've seen displayed so far is 110mph (chance would be a fine thing!). I also find the auto headlamps too sensitive, even on the lowest setting I've had them turn on going under a tree in sunshine, and I can't find the right setting for the auto wipers either, they either wipe too frequently or wait until i can't see out of the windscreen. Both of these were not an issue on my last car which was a Skoda. These are only minor niggles to me though and the car as a whole is far better than the Skoda.
  7. It might have been when you have a route set in the sat nav and are travelling on the motorway. You get the map on the left, a list of upcoming junctions in the middle and whatever you've selected on the right.
  8. I think they improved the ride when they facelifted the GS, but I also think that the ride is a bit firm. I find that mine smothers the small bumps well, so it's not jittery, but it is firm over large bumps. I haven't noticed any wind noise in mine, but there is a far bit of road noise over some surfaces. I think there is an element of it being more noticeable because everything else is so quiet, but I think it's also the harshness of the noise that makes it more obvious. Hope the IS works better for you.
  9. I've done a bit of studying into the Lexus logo too, but I've not seen a link to the occult. He does make some valid points though. 1. The letter L in the logo is the same as the letter L that start's the word Lillian and there are a number of Lillian's in the world that write the first letter of their name in the same style as the Lexus logo. This is an obvious link. 2. He's right that if you turn the logo on its side you get the letter V. The letter V is commonly used to start the word Vulgar. This may not seem to be linked to Lillian, but I'll explain when I've finished examining his evidence. 3. Again, he makes a valid point about the importance of the letter X in the name Lexus. I didn't see the four points link that he mentioned because the cross is self-evidently the wrong way round to the symbol he was comparing it to. The X is, however, clearly linked to the word Xylophone. 4. The fact that these three words are drawn from the Lexus logo is no coincidence. Put together they make the phrase Lillian's Vulgar Xylophone! 5. There is a conspiracy to keep the knowledge of said xylophone out of the public awareness, consequently you will not find any reference to it on the internet. I can't go into too much detail here, as the establishment that monitor the whole internet all of the time will pick up on it and, well let's just say there will be trouble. Suffice to say that Lillian's Vulgar Xylophone is an important historical artefact that has close links with Japanese history. It is a common belief within those that know, that the Lexus logo is Japan's way of admitting that they still have Lillian's Vulgar Xylophone and it was never lost despite their previous claims. If it's true, it proves the theory that Japan will become the most powerful nation in the world and force their beliefs on everyone. I agree that there's no such thing as coincidence and this is one more thing that proves it. As the deep, meaningful, misunderstood and underrated Limp Bizkit lyrics say, "Everything happens for a reason!". 1 2 3 times two is indeed to the six.
  10. I've got an FM/DAB adapter on my Volvo C70, which has an electric aerial, and it works really well too. The dabonwheels website is a good place to look at the options and get an idea of the differences.
  11. Biffo, is that a silver GS from Listers with a black interior? If it is, I test drove it a couple of times, it's a nice car. I went for a new GS Exec Edition in the end and I'm really pleased with it. Hope you enjoy yours!
  12. ...And as a final bonus, it's personal cover so you're covered as a driver or passenger in any car. It's saving me getting breakdown cover for my other car.
  13. This sounds interesting for the next GS: http://youwheel.com/home/2016/07/21/2019-lexus-gs-will-get-twin-turbo-v6/ I wonder if the V6 Turbo will replace the V8 in the GS-F?
