PAG 46 oil quantity

Hi Colin, not sure I understand that. I recently had mine checked after 6 years without problem, because as Herbie says it was not performing as previously. Colin , who works for Paul Frost confirmed low on gas. The machine automatically goes through a process to top it back to the required amount. It does remove old gas and filters it, but if it put back in the same amount it would still not perform. Pleased to say now working brilliantly again. Cheers, Roger -
To all of the LPG fans out there, Dacia have just announced a new car already converted to run on Petrol and LPG. However I cant think of a vehicle more opposite to a Lexus , Cheers, Roger

I bought a new Tanya battery 2 years ago for my LS430. I think sometimes the specs they have against the Lexus range are not always accurate, but they are most helpful, just ring them, preferably with your battery dimensions, I got the battery model I needed but you can specify which way round the terminals are. Lexus as we all know tend to drain battery’s and even though Tanya give a 4 year warranty, it does exclude, like I guess others, failure through sulphate on the plates, which is a consequence of letting the battery go flat. I now use a CTek charger and connect and leave it when the car is idle, so no further problems.

I would not be happy with 3mm tyre tread on a vehicle purchased from a dealer, it might be legal , just , but right on the limit and I would never run my own vehicle below that. The cracking , as already said does not look safe to me, good luck, Roger -
Fantastic result, really pleased for you, enjoy !! Cheers, Roger

Good luck Vlad, I sincerely hope you get something and will watch out for your report. I’m afraid councils are very wise to these situations and doubt threats will work. You have to dot every i and cross every T to win, and they know that. It is not as straightforward as it is made to sound, but it would be wrong if me to not give you my support, as each case is different.

Hi John, thanks for your reply, but of course where you have a determined authority who has a very clever answer to every angle, which we deduced, the law is absolutely not the answer, unless of course you wish to waste time and money. There are specific procedures a local authority must go through, which covers them. We even used the freedom of information act to gain knowledge, and my friend still could not have won, because they had tacitly covered their tracks, nothing to do with being a clever man. In fact their were two very clever men, and that did not include me !!!

My friend who is an engineer destroyed his tyre in a pothole in Devon 2 years ago. Being pedantic, he did everything by the book, photos, location ,date, time etc. He kept all the receipts for the new tyre and prepared to claim. Happily for him, our joint friend is a retired Council Highways and Borough Engineer of a large Council, so knows the law inside out and all the right questions to ask. So totally prepared he set about claiming with correspondence flowing back and forth, slam dunk , so he thought. The end result after all of this, and I know some people will argue how unfair, which it is, and what else you should do, was total rejection of the claim and he got zilch. Bear in mind my friend had the best advice you could have, but in the end, claiming, in my opinion is a complete waste of your time. Put it down to experience, and move on.

Hi Malc, was not suggesting more Indians venturing here, blimey I think we shall have enough on our plate coping with fallout from Hong Kong. Throughout history we have shown great skills in utilising the skills of others, and I was hoping the mass production base would shift from China to India and/or Vietnam. It would be fantasy for us to try to compete with mass industrial production.....unless there is a mass influx of capital to do hi end, technically advanced products, which we can do when we set our mind to it. Cheers, Roger

Lucy you are buying a “car”, which translates into metal and glass and rubber and plastic. You might not even get Bob’s car, what then ? One thing I have learned with cars and houses is that there will always be something else .... and sometimes a better buy 🤗

Go into the “shopping car post” and scroll to bottom of page 1

Did you see the one that has just come up in derby in one of the other posts ?

I think you need to hear from Phil ( The Acre )

I agree, but I think the type of individual interested in paying the type of figure required, probably gets his pleasure showboating and sitting in a car show somewhere. Remember you are talking history and nostalgia, and for quite a few people with money and time that is their life. For you, I and many more the joy is in the driving, but glad we are all not the same.

Malc, just announced this morning that Germany are investing 7 Billion in infrastructure for the above. That is the scale of investment needed, probably driven by the fact that Germany closed its nuclear power stations. It also gives them an interesting dichotomy, because the country is the main centre in Europe for the development and manufacture of battery technology. Will be very interesting to see how this all pans out, methinks a bit like Beta and VHS technology years ago.

Hi John, had lovely drive to wolves, even though it is obvious my air con needs a top up of gas, organised for 10th. Went on business trip and met an old friend , a totally converted Merc man. He has a new E class every 3 years. Pulled up outside and there was an RX450L H. He was converted to buy it by some Toyota mates and absolutely loves it. Far superior, in his words than his Merc, and said he can not believe how he is treated at the dealership, and he thought Merc were good. These were his words, not mine, cos we already know, but nice to hear an unbiased opinion.
