Regarding the exhaust, check the insides of both back boxes, next to the heat shields as they tend to rot out there, £500+ from Lexus exlcuding fitting. As mentioned previously, check the leading edge of the bonnet as they can corrode. Calipers can seize so check the alloys are not overly hot after a test drive. Plenty Gen3 GS300's out there, try and go for one with good service history and my advice is be prepared to travel for the right car. Best wishes with your search.

Hi Lee. If you want silent the best bet is OEM imho, stainless will generally be slighly louder. I replaced the rear boxes/v-section on my GS430 (same part as yours) from Lexus Birmingham (ebay) think it came in around £530 ish plus fitting at and independent. Like you I wanted near silent, stock sound after modified cars in the past, my old one lasted ten years so if this does the same I'll be happy.

Hi Nick and a warm welcome to the club. Lovely looking Sportcross you have, a fantastic colour. With regard to your suspension ride height, looking at the picture it looks correct for standard, they all look a little high at the rear, mine looked the same. Should you wish to lower it you would need to look at changing dampers and springs for after market items. A quick search on here will hopefully bring up some helpful threads and I'm sure someone from the club will post a more detailed response soon. Best of luck with what ever you choose and keep us updated as to how you get on.

Reading through this thread and as the mods progressed, I wasn't that keen on the new look at all. Not sure if it's the colour change of the wheels but I actually like the overall look now in the latest pictures, the silver wheels look so much better inho. Fair play to you Connor, you are not afraid to get stuck in and have a go, I hope it gives you many miles of happy motoring, they are lovely cars.

Wanted, genuine OEM Lexus rubber boot liner for 2006 Gen 3 GS430.

Peter, apologies if I've missed something in the thread......I'm curious about the blocked off gearbox cooler pipes, I understand the original radiator has the trans cooler integrated and is potentially problematic. Is your car fitted with a seperate cooler? Very interesting and informative thread, I'm following this with interest.

Cheers for that Steve, was aware they had recorded together but not heard the albums. Saw her in concert years ago and she seemed quite petite, not sure where the dinner party was though. Re: Location, yes after reading the book and looking at your location it all fell into place. Emersons exit from the world was tragic, seems things had troubled him from childhood and with the medical/playing issues everything conspired against him. Thanks Rayann. Never having had a credit card that option is out and from what you have said I think I might pass on the auction as it's going to be over £200+, not worth the risk or hassle if it goes belly up.

Thanks David, I'm not sure import duties will apply as Malta is within the EU. I like facts, always interesting to hear such stories. My mate had an older brother who had some great albums we used to listen to, In The Court was one of them and like you some of his albums set me on a musical journey I'm still on today! I recently finished reading Greg Lake's autobiography so some of your info rang a few bells. He came across as a decent sort of bloke, very sad that both he and Keith Emerson are no longer with us. I don't think we will ever see the likes of bands such as ELP again sadly. A quick, funny and true, Fripp story. A friend of a friend (totally oblivious in all things prog) went to a dinner party hosted by Toyah, he was chatting to this bloke and asked "so what do you do for a living?".........................Robert Fripp gave him one filthy look apparently!

Many thanks indeed for your reply Normski, a great help and eased my mind somewhat. Paypal is the only form of payment I'd use so your experience fits with my understanding of these type of transactions, like you I have been on ebay for more than ten years with hardly any issues, but as mentioned my experience of overseas is good but limited so it's always good to seek more experienced advice before hitting the bid button! Liking your King Crimson avitar, they were the first band I ever saw way back in 74 on the Larks Tounges in Aspic tour and I saw them recently as well, very different bands but equally brilliant. Thanks again for the help and advice.

I'm interested in a listing on ebay (car related item) but the item is in Malta, I have spoken with the seller via ebay messages and everything sounds ok, his feedback rating is 205 with only one being a negative, but I'm naturally cautious about buying items from overseas especially as the price would be £200+. Are there any ebay users who are more experienced in buying overseas advise if anything went amiss would I still be protected via ebay/paypal or do places such as Malta differ in terms of protection?

Hi Craig and welcome to the forum. Sadly a creaky dashboard is not uncommon. Lexus will look into this for you (at a cost) but they don't guarantee fixing the issue (I think they remove the dash and refit it with new fixings) There are various threads on the forum if you do a search, some people have put felt between the dash and the screen which seems to cure the issue. It's an annoyance given Lexus are a premium brand, but in the grand scheme of things not a disaster. Following a thread I read on here recently, I have just bought this from ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-Dustproof-Sealing-Strip-For-Auto-Car-Windshield-Dashboard-Rubber-Length-1-6m/292437776685?hash=item4416a6592d:g:i1oAAOSwKgdaeCyt I will try it out when the warmer weather arrives. Can't help with your other issue but I'm sure someone will be along soon that perhaps can. Enjoy the forum and of course the GS!

Ls430 rear leg room
BarneyTT replied to buccal's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Club
As they are fairly close to me (Lexus South West) and out of curiosity, I was reading through his/their site. The reviews are very good (subjective I know) and he seems keen on the Lexus brand. Prices are on the high side but the cars appear a cut above the usual dealer, forecourt stock. -
Poor Customer Service From Adrian Flux
BarneyTT replied to Arqum's topic in Lexus Insurance Discussions
I can only speak as I find, I'm insured through Adrian Flux and have been for a number of years. They have always been very good, sorry to hear you've had problems, in my experience very unlike them. -
The first car states full service history yet it only has seven stamps, for a 55 reg I would have expected at least twelve stamps otherwise it's hardly a "full" history. £400 For a cambelt change? Lexus Bristol charged me £375 to replace mine two years ago, ring your local Lexus for an up to date quote. As mentioned, the other GS has been on the market for quite a while, strangely it's one digit away from mine reg-wise and same colour! Check front leading edge of bonnet for corrosion and also the inner sides of exhaust back boxes by heat shields for rot, also the v section at rear. Best of luck with your continued search, the GS430 is a fantastic car.

Looks lovely Carl, having a dark coloured car myself I know how hard they can be to keep looking tip-top, nice work.

Very nice indeed Phil, you certainly have found a cracking GS there, hope it gives you many years of trusty service and enjoyment. When I bought my GS I looked at an 06 model before buying the one I have now, the tax was over £500. Mine is a couple of months older (55 plate) and it's £300 ish, a big difference for a few months! If you don't mind my asking, what sort of price did you pay?

Enjoy.
