Hi and welcome to the forum Russell and sorry to hear of your woes. Other than trying to source the required part second hand which you have obviously tried, I'm out of suggestions. Hopefully someone here with more knowledge will be along shortly to help out. Out of interest, how did you jump start the RX, did you following the handbook instructions? Keep us updated regarding progress, wishing you all the very best in getting this issue sorted out.

A few Lexuses and others at a local Japanese show

Loved my Sportscross (see pic) the downsides of owning one now are ever increasing Road Tax, MPG and finding a good one that hasn't been messed with. Great pictures, love all the old Jap stuff, thanks. -
I had my RX450h in Lexus Bristol recently for a major service and opted for a courtesy car which was £12 for the insurance, so it seems this price varies across dealerships. The courtesy car was an ES300h which looked smaller than my 2005 GS430, I was quite surprised to find it's longer than both the GS and RX as it didn't fit in my garage (it would if I removed the rear shelving)!

Lexus Bristol's labour rate is £150.00 an hour.

Thanks Nigel, a few more things to add to my check list Agreed, it's not the best load bay cover, my Subaru Forester one is slightly better and more robust. With regard to your comment about "something is missing on mine as there's a gap between the seats and cover". Mine has an extension that clips onto the back seats from the main blind housing which moves and covers said gap between blind housing and rear seats when moved back and forth. Good to know they are good load luggers, suspension looks beefy so I'm not surprised.

Whilst you expect a dealer to make a profit it smarts knowing what price they I recieved me, it's makes you feel short changed. In fairness the dealer could have sold it on to friends or family who are just trying it on. The reason I went down the part exhange route was I hate dealing with private buyers, I've had some good ones in the past but too many idiots and at my age, and given I have car another to sell, I just couldn't face it. Also, whilst the GS was spot on, within the next two years a cam-belt change was due and in reality, possibly a new water pump given it's age and whilst the tyres had 6mm of tread they were eight years old. I needed to buy a more upright car due to health issues so it was time change and made sense to put my money into a newer Lexus. I part exchanged it with a dealer, so yes the ad is misleading and a little untrue in places to be fair. I think what annoys me most is I had lovingly looked after it, kept a comprehensive folder of service history, bills etc. and they are passing all my love, care and money off as their own. Still, that's life I guess🙄

Best of luck with your search Peter. I have just gone through much the same search, and it was a long, frustrating three months, prices are all over the place, but £15k should afford you a nice one. Only had mine two weeks but very pleased with it so far, very different from the 06 GS430 it replaced but strangly feel right at home in it already! Keep us posted

Marshalls may be Selling their Lexus and Toyota Dealerships
BarneyTT replied to Dippo's topic in Lexus General Discussions
Fingers crossed this is the case for me Doug as I use Lexus Bristol and since the Marshall Group took over certain aspects of their service has suffered, nothing major just niggles but they slightly spoil the overall Lexus eperience I previously enjoyed.
