  1. well i was hoping not to have to go through that just yet, if i do i might as well run fresh wires long enough to reach the headunit, guess thats just how itll have to be though, thanks anyway. :winky:

Actually if you Pm sparkystav or Lee-iceman they will send you the wiring diagram for the IS200 should tell you what you need! I was thinking of the diagram for the altezza which is next to impossible to get

  2. im changing my head unit and i wondered if i could use the existing speaker wires? i know the back ones will need changing but i was hoping to splice the front speaker wires before the stock amp and connect them to my head unit then just run the phonos for the sub and amp in the boot, does anyone know which wire is for the fronts going into the stock amp? i need some music and cant get around to the full install until next week :winky:

take off the door card and check the colour of the wires coming out of the speakers. Should be 2 wires for the 6.5" speaker and another 2 do the tweeter

  3. are you planning to do the fogs? i tell you now i bet the are harder to do that your headlights. im having a right pain with mine. why do they put bolts in the most awkward of places

What bolts you talking about?? The 2 10mm bolts holding the fog lamp in place?? Was planning to do the fogs at some stage too.

@ Jamie: Took me a about a month doin a bit here and there. I had a spare set of lights so i was in no rush to get them done. You could probably get them done in a day or 2 if you wanted. Guide to follow :winky:

  4. good effort, why didnt you take out the orange indicator? would look even better

Ye i realised that after i had sealed up on of the headlamps! no way i was goin to go through the hassle of seperating them again! doesnt really bother me :whistling:

  5. Well, got load of new parts which inc.

Bullet Steel 5.8kg Flywheel, this is 600grams lighter than my old TRD unit. Its comparable to the JUN U/L flywheel which has been discontinued.

Exedy Sports Clutch Cover (thanks to Dave @ Prolex)

    TRD Organic Clutch Disc

    Clutch Release bearing

    Power Enterprise Oil Filter

    Blitz LM Air Filter Element

New sump plug (with a powerful neo magnet on the tip)

    New Radiator

Millers/Halfords Fluids (coolant, engine/transmission/power steering oils)

That little lot came in at quite a sum. However a jobs worth doing its worth doing right :)

    Work will proceed on Sunday.

Good man Am, cant wait to see this car when its done. 3S-GE all the way!!!!

  6. no sunroof, not sure of the JDM models but in the uk the only version without a sunroof used to be the base model. what version of altezza is it also?? does it have a 4cyl engine or a 6 cyl engine? This is important to find out.

ive yet to see an Altezza with a sunroof. Think only the qualitat model come with it as standard any link to it on car zone??

Edit: Found it here for anyone thats interested, not much info on it

  7. No unfortunately not it only off the boat from japan so the history would be dodgy at best, if the clocks aren't genuine i think i'll leave it as there is no real way of verifying the mileage the interior is spotless but a good valet could do that

    the search goes on alas

    Thanks for the reply

havent seen the TTE clocks before, are you sure there not TRD ones?? That mileage is suspiciously low for a 98. Mine had 90,000 kms on it when i got it in has over 115,000 now :winky: any pics of it??

  8. After reading that Wikipedia entry I wouldn't let it anywhere near my car never mind put it in the tank.

Sounds like genuine gut rot for the fuel system, an effective diluter of the engine oil and not to mention the possibility of arcing in the submersible fuel pump blowing up the tank :o

Haven't blown up yet! :crying: A more detailed link about it here

  9. no no, stays in gear fine!

The gear linkage went on my corsa and i found it very difficult to get into 1st and the stick itself wobbled quite a bit. got it done under warrenty and problem solved, gear stick firmed up and no more fighting to get into first.

Ye im not saying the linkage is gone, its just gotten a bit squeaky. some grease on the linkage should sort that out i think

  10. Look at buying a blueprint clutch system, this is good as OEM. I think prolex will stock it, check their website for price and avaliability.

btw- I notice your from Leeds, whereabouts? I'm orginally from Pudsey, but have moved to Ilkley.

    will do.

Im living in Yeadon now. good move from Pudsey! been out around there a couple of times and it always ends in an early finish due to :tsktsk: heads

Ive a squeaky clutch to but its fine, just down to the linkage i think. A bit of lube should solve this. You don't feel the clutch slipping or anything do you?

  11. Got my hands on a second hand set of IS200 headlights. Going to spray them black and stick them on my Altezza. Now as far as i know the IS200 headlights can be adjusted electronically. Is there any way i can hook these up in my car, so i can adjust the electronically. The standard altezza headlights are only adjustable manually by hand. Not a big problem if i cant just thought it would be nice if i could get them working properly :winky:

  12. i might add it to my ever growing list of things to do

cheers for the info, and if anyone knows somewhere in yorkshire that can do it, would they PM me please?

    cheers

Your best off finding what the availability of the fuel is like in your area, im lucky. have 2 near me and another few around Dublin. The kit lets you use e85 or unleaded so you wont be in trouble if you cant find a garage that sells e85

  13. are both required to get the BHP increase??

well the bio fuel adapter kit is needed to allow your car to run on E85, then the dyno will show you any increase in power from using a higher octane fuel(not nessesary but best way to prove actual power increase) . I dunno what the IS200 is recommended to run on but for the altezza its supposed to run on 100 Ron or higher which simply cant be gotten out of the pumps in Ireland so E85 is the best option for me

  14. Wish it was 253 :crybaby:

My Altezza is a 99 when i got it dynoed in March it came out at 196.8bhp running on Unleaded 95. On decent fuel, i'd say it will be close to the factory 216bhp

what did it cost to have it done?

How much for the kit to run on Biofuel(380 Euro) or how much to get it dyno'ed( 60 Euro) :winky:

@Bazza the figure i was given was at the flywheel
