  1. Where does it seem to come from and during idle or moving ? Hear it during braking
  2. Had some clicking/knocking recently, dont know what that would be due to.
  3. Just as predicted no major problems found!!!! Just getting new alloys, calipers, wiper arm and the washer bottle replaced as it leaks. Thanks for your input guys atb Matt
  4. Thats got to be one of the most inconsiderate things anyone can do. Well if I ever see you getting in or out of your car without a child in sight, I'll be having a word with you, mate. There aren't enough Parent spaces as it is and there are less of them than disabled spaces. You wanna try getting a baby and toddler strapped into their seat while in a normal space - its impossible - and your more likely gonna dink the car next to you's door cos its too tight!!!
  5. Well I rang Hatfield on Thursday afternoon and asked if they would carry out a check before warrenty expires and also first MOT. I asked if all known problems could be checked for me and the service guy goes quiet for at least 10 seconds (which is a long time when your on the phone!!) and then says "MMmmmm known problems.........I don't know of any on an IS" !!!!! I said "I'll bring a list in for you then!!!" Its going in Tuesday, I've got a feeling they wont find anything conveniently!!! Cheers Matt
  6. I had a 250SE-L MM for 24 hours last month while my SportCross went in for a service. It was a totally different driving experience to the old IS. It felt huge inside, looked huge outside, was faster, smoother and more comfortable, than the old one. I imagine its was probably closer to driving an LS than an old IS, although I haven't driven an LS. And with all the new toys (6 x DVD changer, reversing camera and lights everywhere) its a great car. Unfortunately, now with 2 tiny mouths to feed, it'll be a while before I own one!!! Matt
  7. Now thats what I'm talking about!!!! Conveniently missing something that clearly needs replacing!!! Resulting in an unneccessary expense that could've been avoided!!! Sorry they done ya javadude, but I think I'll ring my independent garage mate first thing tomorrow. Cheers Fellas :winky: Matt
  8. Yeah, probly am!!!! I just dont wanna get hit with a bill for something that could've been sorted for free!!!! So at the moment I've got: Front and rear shock absorbers Ball joints Gears Front foglights Boot springs Sat Nav Controller Water Pump Bonnet release cable Discs Anything else mechanical go wrong on an IS??? Cheers Matt
  9. Yeah, thats a good un, although I reckon they would look it up on a database and find out Reg Date first.
  10. Thats exactly what I wanna be able to do - but I'm not sure exactly what to ask them to check!!!
  11. Cheers for the replies Guys. I would hope they would be straight with me. But I have a voice in my head saying "What if they ignore the problems, then once the warrenty has run out I have to pay for the repairs myself!!! Then they can tell HQ how much money they saved them and consequently made for themselves!!!!"
  12. Hi Guys My SportCross is a month from the warranty expiring and I was going to get it checked over in case theres anything I can get fixed before it runs out. First question - Can I trust a Main Dealer to check the neccessary things that are prone to need doing. Or will they say its all OK even when it isn't?? Secondly - I want to tell them what to check, but I'm no mechanic - So what do tell them ie, Ball Joints etc???? I already know there is corrosion forming on the alloys, so I'll be in there for those anyway. Cheers Matt
  13. I've just booked my SportCross in for its 30k service at Hull. I'm gonna supply my own oil - can someone recommend which oil to get please. I know its been covered before, and yes I did search for 2 hours last night, but I couldn't find it!!!! TIA Matt
  14. I just voted for "Juddery" but do get clunks from 1st to 2nd. Coincidently its gone in to Hatfield today for a new clutch and flywheel to try and cure it!! Its only done 28k. A bit worrying really!! My old IS had 88k on it and was fine.
  15. Congratulations fella. We're on a 6-week countdown to having a 2nd baby seat in the back!!!
  16. Panic over!!!!! Hatfield are replacing the clutch and flywheel under warrenty. :D
  17. Cheers for the replies guys, but I need some technical info so I dont get fobbed off by a mechanic who thinks I dont know any better!!!! What are the possible parts that could be required, apart from a whole new clutch?? TIA Matt
  18. I'm aware of inceasing the revs and it doesn't happen, and thats exactly what the service guy did!! And I told him I was aware of it. Then I said "But we don't drive that!!!"
  19. Guys, I know this has been covered previously, so don't shoot me down!!!! Basically I've had some clutch judder on my Sportcross since I got it in February, and seeing as the warrrenty expires early next year, I thought I'd get it looked at in good time for any problems to get sorted out. Dropped it into Hatfield this morning for them to look into it. The service guy ran me back to work in my Sportcross hoping to experience the judder - needless to say it never happened!!!! I just wanted you guys to let me know how they might explain the judder to get out of replacing the clutch or anything related. Any info to prepare me and make me look like I know what I'm talking about greatly appreciated!!! Cheers Matt
  20. Hi mate I run the graphics studio in a printers. I could ask them to quote you if ya like. Any idea of paper required?? And how many diff kinds?? Cheers Matt
  21. Check fleabay mate, they come up all the time with peeps swapping them out
  22. How is that done then mate??? In 'simpleton' terms!!!!!
