  1. Not difficult to see which people you mean since only 2 of us have posted since your comments unrelated to vehicle insurance, but not defensive at all Matt. Just putting a point of view.........as you did. Why get derogatory about members posting responses to posts on these forums? Having read your posts over a considerable time I was surprised. Not sure why you would find it interesting either!
  2. I was not talking from "moral high ground" matt, just pointing out the problems that might arise further down the line. As Mike says your analogy re broken house windows is somewhat irrelevant since I don't think I have ever been asked on Home or Contents Insurance anything other than if I have claimed in the last 5 or 7 years, but certainly not if I have been subjected to either a break in or a theft.
  3. So if a problem arises from the repair a few months down the line the "no fault" driver has no recourse? If he had notified his insurers they might help to get it rectified by using their muscle to persuade the repairers to rectify. You would have the proof of damage if you were savvy enough to get a copy of the repair invoice billed to the other driver.
  4. Totally agree with Mike. Not declaring anything could prove extremely expensive in the long term.
  5. If through insurers and full recovery made from 3rd party it should not affect premium. Certainly didn't affect wife's premium after she was rear ended. Our insurers (Churchill) made full recovery from 3rd party insurers (Swiftcover) and premium certainly did not increase.
  6. Had an O2 sensor replaced on my GS430 last year. My local garage did it and it cost far less than the part only from Lexus. He used the correct Denso sensor which he obtained from his parts supplier so they are certainly not Lexus only and don't need to be ordered from USA.
  7. No objection to dipped headlights really, even if they aren't really needed, but these ***** who think it looks "cool" to drive with fogs permanently on!!!!!!!!
  8. The GS430 did not have any problems regarding brake booster, it was only on pre 2002 GS 300.
  9. Sorry Geoff, I misunderstood that part of your post.
  10. The fact that it is the wrong gearbox won't be helping. If you can source a 430 box it might help, otherwise I hope you find an easy fix.
  11. Easy enough to put your lights on as necessary without DRL's. Biggest problems are lack of Police vehicles on routine patrols and officers having to meet targets so go for easier options. So easy to prosecute for not using lights correctly whether not having them on or having lights on illegally....i.e. fog lights (front or rear) in use in inappropriate conditions. As for drivers who can't see darker cars without lights on then they should, in all conscience, be handing in their licence as they should not be driving.
  12. Does the series II GS430 have this too?
