  1. 9 years in May although had Lexus for 13 years in May.
  2. Don't forget that Lexus manufacture in the US whereas UK cars are built (I believe) in Japan. I am sure you won't have this issue if you buy a GS300. They are a great motor. You could try the GS430 too.......fantastic.
  3. Probably because the UK cars are not really affected. The reply from Lexus implied that you had enquired re the 450h?
  4. I could see it selling well if priced competitively.
  5. Not heard anything regarding this and not seen anything on this forum. What exactly are the issues and which model?
  6. Don't forget though that if anything major crops up you are covered for 6 months from date of purchase. Hope you don't find too many niggles.
  7. Have you tried to put it back in? Hold cover down and the filter should slot in and then the cover closes.
  8. Was it a Lexus dealership? If so they may let your nearest dealer do work.
  9. It might be an idea to go round the car checking everything in detail and recording all faults found ASAP. Once done, contact the dealer you purchased the car from to see what they are prepared to do to rectify.
  10. The "essential care" service misses several things such as lubricating door hinges/catches. My GS430 had FLSH until it had "essential care" service but will no longer be serviced by Lexus dealers. My local garage has proved extremely competent with a couple of problems and could not be more helpful. If you have a local garage which is good and competent then I would use them.
  11. Original for GS430 was Z8JJ x 17" although some were fitted with 18" when new.
  12. It might be the OBC that is not recording correctly. Only way to check really is to brim fill each time and see how near the OBC figures are to your figures. 15 does seem low though.
  13. Fuel consumption won't be g/box. What sort of mpg were you getting before service?
  14. Oil should be nice reddish colour. My previous '96 300 Sport had around 146k on it when I traded it for my GS430 which is now 12.5 years old with 70k. I owned the 300 for 6 years and my 430 for almost 7 years and have never had to have anything done to g/box and until last year or so I had always had main dealer servicing. If things are fine then why risk upsetting them by altering anything?
  15. I doubt if that will cure anything as you don't appear to have the faults associated with failure of the unit.
  16. Is there any specific reason to warrant this? What do you intend doing as a gearbox service? If it is performing as it should then leave well alone.
  17. Not sure but a quick phone call to local dealer should give you the right answer.
  18. Declare yes. There are various options then such as 3rd party hit me, hit 3rd party, no claim etc etc.
  19. It is just the way the inlet pipe is. Many cars will fill better if the nozzle is at various angles. It also needs to allow air to be allowed out of the tank.
  20. 18" GS Sport wheels, I think it was about £90/wheel. That was about 5 years ago
  21. Having driven the ct200 as a courtesy car twice covering both local and then a run from Lincoln to Coventry then back to Lincolnshire (50 miles north of Lincoln) and back to Lincoln all I would advise is to drop it from your list. Noisy, sluggish, uneconomical, poor handling. Try to get a 48 hour test drive and judge for yourself. No doubt though that they are ok for some people depending on usage and what you are used to. I mean no offence to owners but my opinion is that Lexus made a mistake with this car.
  22. Lexus don't do the refurb. They will send them off to be done, although when I had refurb done via Lexus Coventry they ordered the wheels and swapped my tyres onto the refurbed wheels which they had ordered so I assume they must have a ready supply of Lexus wheels.
  23. Are you sure that the noise is coming from the gearbox? Can you feel anything if you hold the shift lever whilst idling? Whilst idling which gear is it in? Have you checked fluid level? I doubt that it is your gearbox unless you notice any noises/jerking on gearchanges or is it the normal fairly seamless change?
  24. All engines use oil but don't just rely on checking dipstick. You may see no real movement on dipstick but that doesn't mean your engine is not using oil. Your oil level may be influenced by water absorption in the same way as brake fluid. However, in 12.5 years of Lexus ownership I have, despite regular checking, never (so far) had to top up between service intervals.
