Hmm, missed a trick there, should have thought to negotiate free map updates for life when I was making the deal! DOH!!

Lol, automated response from my sales guy at Hatfield - " I am currently away on annual leave until 30th December". I WANT HIS JOB!!! 6 months annual leave! That's outrageous !!! Just hope someone else picks up his emails!!

Well I have emailed the request to Lexus Hatfield and await the response as to what they can do for me re the latest map SD card. I will let you know how I get on.

My full ref no on the card is 86271-53241. When I enter the 53241 part and click next, the portal displays details about the available update. I.e "Update Europe 2014(Q2) SD Card (Navteq 2013Q2)" If I put in 53242 and click next it says " It appears you already own the latest version of this map.) So 86271-53242 is the latest. Mine needs an update :(

Yes, mine is the Premium Nav. Not sure what that actually means though. Why would the maps be different?

The ref number on my SD card is 53241. Looks like I could do with an update. I will see what Lexus Hatfield will do for me. I hope, since I have been badgering them about the shoddy software, they will give me a huge discount on the map update.

Hey DJ, have you taken the plunge and bought the latest maps SD card ( via Additional Services on the Portal) assuming you have the Premium Nav that is! 165+VAT seems a bit steep in this day and age especially as there is no indication of what is different. Could have only added a couple of new roads for all I know!

Where are you guys looking on the Portal to see Version E listed? I can only see the one for real-time traffic and that has been there ages and is Version D!!

I've been told by Lexus UK the E will be out next month. They didn't say what has been addressed though. I hope it sorts out my vanishing phone favourites and initialising voice activation issues. Not holding my breath though.

DJP, Was your move to version D software a self-install from the customer portal or a dealer install? Just wondering if I got the dealer to re-install it might solve my problems.

Well it looks like I am one of the 3 :( My version D software is not good. Sometimes loses phone favs. 9 times out of 10 when I press the voice button the system tells me it is initialising and voice recognition is not available at this time. When it is available and a say "Play Song High Hopes" I get "Dial 7304" or something equally stupid. Not impressed :( Neil

Yup, each to his own. I took a missive risk ordering my Mesa Red with Ivory leather without seeing it in the flesh first but wow was I pleased when I saw it for the first time. It's stunning, especially when the sun hits it :) no regrets at all.

I am hoping, as software updates are relatively easy to apply now , some of this functionality will filter through to current models e.g. Support for emails as well as text messages :) -
Managed to figure it out without the instructions as it was all intuitive once I selected the Update Software menu option.

Strike that last post! The .KWI file is the file to put on the stick :) I didn't have to unzip any .zip file as the instructions on the portal said. It was already extracted. Anyway, did the update ok. Again the instructions were not quite right for doing the update as I had to initiate the update via the setup menu. The file was then found and I could elect to proceed. At this point it identified the upgrade as VC03101D and asked for confirmation to proceed. The upload went through and I was prompted to turn off the engine and turn on again. The updated then completed and the system restarted. Done.

Hey Gerald, followed the instructions on the Portal but the download file does not seem to be a .zip file as stated in the download instructions. It has a .KWI file which I cannot do anything with!! Any ideas? Also, it says that the download is for Traffic updates, doesn't mention anything about VC03101D!

Yep, that is set. Had one message come through ok today, but the next one didn't. Just seems a bit flakey, maybe the next update will fix it :)

Now you come to mention it, I do have a couple of odd things happening. 1) With my iPod Touch connected via USB, when I select Browse I am only getting [ABC] enabled for selecting Artist.. [DEF], [GHI] etc are ghosted out. Very strange. 2) Text message reading has simply stopped working. It worked on the first couple of days but now it doesn't. It is probably something I have done while playing around with settings on either the car or the phone, need to have another play.

Worked fine for me, glad to see my dealer had done as requested and updated to version C before handover.

It is using the 3G on the phone. The car connects to the phone via WiFi tether

Seem to have got it working fine now with a tethered WiFi connection to the phone and it does automatically connect now without me having to re-enter the WiFi password :) It does not want to work over bluetooth though, oh we'll WiFi it is :)
