  1. Hi guys, I have just seen a power gain module (chip) on eBay, it says it increases bhp by 15, I was wondering if anyone has tried one of these and whether it is ok for the engine to run on, and if they actually work.

It basically says that it tells ECU that the incoming air in the intake system is cold and so advances the ignition to compensate producing more power.

    any help appreciated!!

    thanks

  2. Hi guys, I recently saw an is200 with colour coded alloys, inside of the spokes were matching the car (in gunmetal grey) Is there any sort of kit which enables you to do this yourself, if not then where can it be done from and what sort of cost am I looking at?

any help would be much appreciated.

    many thanks!

  3. Have you done any mods to your car? Had the pre-cats out?

no mods to the car at all, the car has done 99k, it was very unusual though when he was checking it there was no smoke visible, the car is used regularly and I do put my foot down here and there, I'll try the injector cleaner and see if that helps.

  4. I just had my is200 in for MOT, after waiting for a whole hour in the heat, I couldnt believe it when he said it had failed.

When I asked what the problem was, he said that the co2 emmissions where too high! I was well p****d off, apparently my mates failed their mot from the same guy for the same reason.

So after sweating it out for an hour I asked him how much it was over by and what all the numbers meant but he couldn't give me a straight answer.

Anyway, I then asked for some advice on how to get it sorted, and all he said was I had to get it investigated. He's given me 14 days to fix the problem and get a free re-test.

Does anyone know what causes this problem and how I would go about fixing it. any help would be much appreciated.

    thanks!!!!

  5. there is no fix for it, as my one did this about 3 weeks ago, so i took it out the car and had alook to see what i could do, when looking at it the CD holders inside ,3 of them are f***k and i dont think you can replace them, so that was that new CD

If you're car is less than 5 years get down to your local dealer as you stereo will still be under warranty. Although the cars have 3 year warranty the stereo has an extended warranty due to it's common problems. If it's more than 5 years old then try having a look in eBay for a replacement, there are quite a few popping up these days.

    hope that helps

  6. Hi guys, just recently bought an is200, and looking for a bit more power but don't really have that much to spend, does anyone have any suggestions as to what's the chepest way is to get some more oomph in the car.

any tips would be much appreciated!!

    thanks!

performance filter is a pos for not much money, not sure what the gain would be, not much.

Induction kit would be the best way to go. Have a search on the forum, there's loads of different threads to read.

then it would be the exhaust system next

    cat back exhaust.

You could pick one of up in the buy and sell section for half the price of a new one!!!!!

so keep your eye out for peeps selling

next would be remove the cats

the IS has 2 pre-cats and 1 main cat

The main cat is located in the mid-section of the exhaust, if you've got a local tuner by you or a competent mechanic that you trust, a de-cat shouldn't be a problem All this involves is cutting out the cat and replacing it with a straight through pipe, which is flanged at both ends so the cat can be re-fitted for mot's. All this can be done for well under £100

ok I would say to do the above would cost somewhere around £400- £500 depending on the induction kit you choose

    pre-cats

the 2 per cats can be removed in the same way as removing the main cat. just read through the IS200 forum's should de a thread somewhere

the other option is a new manifold check the buy and sell or buy a new one, up to you

    hope that's of some help

thanks for all your help guys, i'll probably start off with exhaust and induction and then move on from there.

  7. Hi there, my is200 currently has many stone chips on the bonnet which really does no justice to the quality of this car, I have tried chips away who said they will only do touch ups which I could probably do myself. Do you guys have any other suggestions as to what I could use (i.e T cut, waxes) or anything else, or is it an unfortunate trip the bodyshop for a respray.

any help would be very much appreciated.

    thanks

  8. I got a set of mats a few months back from the afformentioned Mark @ Lexus Teesside for just over £40 - that's half the price they used to go for. Drop him an email or give him a call - he also does good deals on body kits.

Also worth dropping Chris.S a PM on here. He does good deals on Lexus parts too.

cheers mate, ill give him a call

  9. Hi, If there is anyone out there who has a spare set of genuine lexus mats for the is200 please let me know, i bought an is200 and it came without mats, I don't mind second hand as long as they're in good condition.

  10. Hi there, I am pretty new to this club, I have just bought my first lexus is200 (gunmetal grey colour) and must say I am well impressed. I am just sorting out a few things with it.

The car came without mats so I am also looking for genuine lexus mats (dont mind second hand but need to be in good condition.)

I have replaced the front grill with a sport one (makes a big difference) and am now looking for the styling kit which is the front lip, side skirts and bumper skirt. Does anyone know where I can get these from cheap, or is there anyone selling theirs second hand.

Any help would be much appreciated!
