thats the new thing now chris.. they get by this by using a full blown image in your email. Also I sold my mate a computer and was a fresh install and got him hooked up to the net. Whithin 20 mins we had message pop ups (not sure how) of porn links. At the time his son was using the net to look for games and he kept getting messages. Makes you realise what a sick word we live in

I cannot believe BT I am using BT ADSL and have never used the email address that came with the account. Anyway.. my brother decided to hook up to the pop account and ended up with 600 email coming in to his inbox. All spam... every single email was unsolicited email. I also got myself a business line installed at my old office last year.. I registered the line and attatched the phone. I got a call from Thompson direcotory asking if I would like a free listing .. I replied " you mean you wish to sell my information you mean?" .. err no sir "yes you do and no I do not want your free listing so I can be pestered by poxy salesmen" So BT sold my new phone number as i started receiving calls from various sales people... I had not even issued the number to anyone. This completly sucks and because you have a business line they assume that they can sell your information. Personally I think BT are the worst of the lot. take a look here: http://www.btsuck.org Also.. why is the net become such a horrible place to be? Spammers have now got through anti spam software by using images to get past filtering. I am sooo sick of the net and scared for my son to use the net. How many of you have received obscene email... shocking.. I have even had an advert for firearms! The good story is being an ex internet service provider I have enough savvy to report offending websites that unsolicit my inbox and get them shut down. DIE SPAMMERS DIE

perhaps we as a club should come up with something to prevent this. I know many people who leave their keys around the house. I like the sound of Riskys link he posted... maybe a group buy would be in order? years ago I used to park my car on an estate that had high car crime. My prevention was to remove the rotar arm from the distributor every night The car was broken into and hot wired.. but they could not start the car.. they were left scratching their head. Might have taken me 30 seconds to remove this nightly.. but i had a car in the morning and i have had my no claims from day one 14 years ago! Prevention is the best thing anyone can do.

I remember seeing a gadget that pages you when your alarm goes off. these would be a great item But in this day and age it is easier to steal the car keys then try and break in and not succeeding.

Well i can lay my hands on those suction tripod mounts that are the same used in filming. I can attach this to the boot so you do not see any of the camera car whilst filming.

At the JAE meet this summer (03) we are going to attempt to film the meet through the whole weekend. But on the saturday at about 9am I was thinking of getting as many people as possible to to meet up and form a convoy. With this I am attemting to purchase a special car attachment that allows us to attach the camera to the boot, window or anywhere in the car. I think this would make a great start if all the cars were to approach the camera and overtake! Then at the meet let the camera car in at the meet to take shots of everyone arriving into the pitch. Various filming throughout the whole event. if anyone else has a DV cam corder and would like to bring it along and donate the whole meet footage on your camera we will then add it to the final edited film. (not donate the camera.. not unless you want to :)) Hopefully, next year when we have another 2000 new members we can show them what JAE is all about. Does anyone wish to help? cheers

At least we do not try put advertising in members faces.. we are part of this club for the love of the car.. not to get rich quick from members visiting our website as all the funds go back in to make a better club.
