  1. Saw an advert last night and from what i could make of it that if you do not tax your car in time without notifying them that your car is off road you will get an instant penalty ... even for late payment. i guess this is all to do with those new style tax disks i dont have too much of a problem but i wonder how much leeway they give you at least it will get rid of the tax dodgers who do not pay up whats your thoughts on this?
  2. you may have to file the plastic bits so they fit.. toyota cunningly created a blb fitment only for Toyota so you wont buy a bulb from the big H however these can be carefully filed down and should fit. BTW.. new bulbs from toyota cost £22 each!.. joke eh!
  3. park further away.. walking is free... a new mirror aint. never had a scratch yet and I go shopping weekly and park with the same idiots tip If it is a supermarket carpark then take up 2 bays... Tesco are not going to fine a customer.
  4. I found this a pretty good read http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...topic=5411&st=0 did you know that a pimp in the Uk is called a Ponce? its in the dictionary!
  5. doesnt overheat at all... or run fast when i started it earlier in the day I did notice the small puff of black smoke. The engine was warmish and tooka few turns to get her started. Just after a motorway trip the car decided to play up when i returned to the car.
  6. do you think it will be a hard job to fix? would it need a replaceable part?
  7. seems to start a dream when cold...
  8. question for you techies who know about old type carbs (i know it aint Lex related... but i know we have some knowledgable fellas here) Today I was driving an old 3 Generation Honda Prelude... I stopped at the services for 5 mins.. came back and the car would not start.. the car was flooding so would not start at all. 10 mins later the RAC turn up and the bloke gets in the car and it starts ... typical (like going to the doctors when your ill.. only find yourself much better in the waiting room) The RAC guy reckons it was the Auto Choke So....Here is my question Was the Auto Choke causing the car to flood even though the engine was warm... would this be the cause as the car starts fine when cold.
  9. i was once flashed from a car behind whilst doing 99 :winky: ... turned out it was the police on bikes but they wanted me to get outta the way as they were racing each other :winky: clean undies needed that night remember folks.. speeding kills!

  17. all depends when you brought it into the country... new SVA laws are even stricter my windom only had a fog light added.. the rest was never applied purely because the car was brought into the country in 99 personal imports were different too i think
  18. spot on colin.... we try to encourange mail ordering on parts so members still save if no dealers offer dicounts in their area.
  19. you will need to get the car SVA tested.. this also means changing the Odometer to MPH.. I think you can buy a switchable converter.. so you can switch between kph and mph.
