  1. question though.. why do the headrests look retarded compared to the seats? perhaps i am used to the soarer ones but the back of the seats look really wide
  2. oh yeah.. those windows need some tints!!! then it will look the danglies
  3. this is the only pic i have The alloys need refurbing as the laquer is peeling... and it desnt have the really big alloys on the back.. but the rest of the car speaks for itself.
  4. there was a M plate one with 40K on the clock.. but its in burgundy I myself just slapped a deposit on a Jet Black Gs300 Sport sweeet!
  5. drove miles and miles only to walk away without a test drive again too many things which turned me off heated seats did not work radio consol bit did not light up (glad i checked this as i spotted this from these forums) centre sun visor was floppy cramy under oil cap (cars has been standing around since xmas with start ups So might be ok) Patchy history... so ppatchy one service has an 18,000 mile interval water in boot... had me concerned so inspected boot lines and they were slightly out... further investigation led to a rear shunt. few bulbs blown bonnet struts were weak few nicks on paintwork... polished by stevie wonder passenger door locking button was broken I was dissapointed as it was a nice car and lovely colour... very comfy So... I decided to drop in on the Black GS300 Sport... took her for a test drive... lovely jubbly.. smooth ride! Things I can see wrong paintwork needs a buff up.. spider web effect where someone polished incorrectly. new badges on back... originals are faded some stevie loving Very good condition for age.. cars at 90K but the engine is really sweet and quiet... only thing is compared to the soarer.. very gutless... but I will get used to that and should settle my testosterone levels nicely. So i slapped the deposit on it.
  6. not always a true indication ian.. if the car has been standing around with the odd start up the condensation causes the white gunk to appear
  7. mats worried as i am learning faster about cars than he is with computers
  8. ahhh it was the mark 1's that had gas pressurised shocks.. perhaps mark 2 as well?
  9. so back on topic... anything I should be looking for i will check for upper arm ball joints leaky exhaust manifold dash lights broken springs So.. all i need to do is boot it.. that will tell if anything is wrong.
  10. Steve.. yes i have a few more sets now...
  11. I would like to add on this... firstly go into the gold section.. there is a link to these for £5 not so much of a bargain afterall. Chromies are £10 due to costs of the roll.. we dont charge for P&P and it supports LOC.
  12. yes well we know who this person is and whos stickers he used as a template. and these are not chrome
  13. interesting thread if you switched to unleaded des the performance remain normal?
  14. but that shows the figures on the Lexus site would be something near... we are not saying exact and I appreciate that the figures are an estimate.. but even those figures show the GS430 has higher consumption than the GS300... but compare it with weight and all the other factors like extra CC, 2 more cylinders then its does pretty well considering. I would say those figures should be 1 mile either way of those figures on the Lexus website. But what i did notice is that I did not see a disclaimer on the IS200 specs... I could go and buy a car with those specs only to find it could be worse... your figures show better.. but still wrong to the consumer. ok.. i am going off on one.. :winky: I will do some more research!
  15. the only way to tell this would be the trip computer in the car.. it should tell you what its averaging... I read up that the Mark II was the best... but was this because inaccurate figures? I have read their disclaimer saying that figures could be different due to weather conditions and all but these figures were tested using the original EC driving cycles under directive 80/1268/EEC So the mark IV figures are using the old system Also i always assumed a bigger engine at 57mph would be much more efficient. I would need to see more proof that you are correct colin.. perhaps a few members here could do some tests of their own
  16. well its a race between these 2 cars now.. if the LS is bad then I should be visiting the black GS Get alot more car with the LS.. Performance wise and matching consumption. Handling maybe out but when do i drive as mad as that (only in my soarer) Guildford invited me in to the dealership to view the cars history
  17. Series 1 figures are as old as the LS ones colin I know what you mean... but in your mind just hw much better would the IS be? I have read that the series II was the most economical if you did the figures.
  18. make sure its a series 3... they were the most economical.. the series 4 was absolute pants on consumption. I fisgured this out ages ago... my soarer is worse than the GS... turbos suck it like a straw! 95-97 model is what you want
  19. I think I will bung a IS200 in here too Urban: Manual: 21.4 mpg Auto: 20.2 mpg Extra-urban: Manual: 36.2 mpg Auto:36.7 mpg Combined: Manual: 29.1 mpg Auto:28.5 mpg oh look.. the IS is not even 1 mile better to the gallon! LS has much more refinement.
