  1. Hi Welcome to LOC Club chatroom was turned off for the moment, we are due to upgrade the software as there was a security hole found and we had to secure the chat room until it is updated. To be honest most people use the forums to communicate. cheers
  2. Fancy the chance to see your car star on TV? Channel 4’s Country House Rescue, a primetime, HD series are looking for a slate grey Lexus RX400h to feature as the presenters car. Country House Rescue is a prime time, television series presented by Hotelier Ruth Watson, who helps turn round the fortunes of some of Britain’s most important country houses. The car ideally needs to be Codoxton slate grey in colour with a beige leather interior, it will be required for a seven weeks in September and October. If you own a car like this and would love to see it on prime time channel 4, please contact James Greig 0207 9070871 or james.greig@betty.co.uk

  4. pimp out the garage or not! http://style-your-garage.com/
  5. i forgot all about it after seeing that pint LOL
  6. vans are exempt from import tax, so to not pay a $4k tax we had to find a van sharpish.. powervans were not available at the time so we used this instead as we got it for a good price.
  7. camp fire in mongolia to keep the millions of mozzies away, this was our first night away from being refugees at the border, so we were chilled!
  8. Stopped at a riverbed for a wash and a bite to eat, vulture hanging over, time to get out of there LOL
  9. camped here, just on the mongolian border
  10. just been sent this pic, we pulled an ambulance out of the dirt in Kazakhstan.. this was supposed to be a motorway but it hadnt been built yet.. the dirt was like cement powder, our gear was caked in this stuff.
  11. in early July we parked the rally vehicle right near the centre attractions in prague, of course we got a parking ticket and we did not think much of it. on the ticket it had GB written on it.. i am now wondering if I will get a bill through. The car was exported on the 1st of august. If i get anything through should i ignore it?
  12. lonely planet guide rules mate.. also good to learn some customs otherwise could offend some locals..
  13. oh yeah, anyone thinking of doing it for next year then should look at this, the the entry fee is now £50 for a limited time (we paid 300) http://mongolia.charityrallies.org/
  14. have some piccies soon and hopefully enough of some video. there was one thing we never blogged that was quite funny we were driving along and we came across a line of Gers (round tents mongolians live in) as we approached a load of kids ran out trying to stop us, we stopped and they were trying to flog us some white liquid in a bottle.. we think it may have been mares milk. We said no thanks but instead we got out a big bag of sweets, I started handing them out but there were so many of then I just gave the whole bag, they scurried off with loads of lollies. Then some adults came over shaking our hands and asking where we are from (suprising how many know a bit of english) one spotted my high visibility jackets in the glove box and gave the thumbs up... I gave him one and everybody was laughing and clapping while he paraded around in it. I gave the other one away and we have a feeling that the only people who wear these are police, so they may use it to stop people we reckon!! Also time to report on the status of Lexus in these countries. Suprisingly enough I can safely say that Toyota and Lexus rule the roost in the capital of Mongolia, I have never seen so many LX's in one place! But very rarely saw BMW or Merc. Lexus is Top seller along with Landcruisers. Either Russia and Kazakhstan also had loads of Lexus. Again i reckon highest seller of luxury 4x4. I did spot an altezza in a small run down mongolian village, how they hell it copes with the bad roads beats me.
  15. cheers guys, we left the vehicle for charity. Apart from replacing the rear springs at the side of the road, and having to keep topping up the diff because of a leak after hitting a football size bolder the 4x4 was absolute excellent. How we did not destroy it was incredible. The front sump guard and rear bumper was hanging off too, that took a real battering everyday. i have written some bits of the adventure at http://www.roadwarriors.org.uk but there are loads more things that happened. getting lost was the most exciting because we were on the other side of a huge mountain, with roads that are almost impassable and the thought of breaking down and not being found for a long time was scary which made it exciting. All the damage to the truck was done in one day by getting lost, the main roads are hard but managable. Best thing was passing though small villages and everyone is shocked to see us.. now thats off the beaten track.
  16. We made it to UlaanBaatar Mongolia, I have had the experience of my life and got some stories to tell. Our truck was excellent! I will be posting up a write up on my website soon for those interested, just need to sort out loads of stuff before i do that. still cannot get the dirt out of my skin!
