Hmm only thing i can recommend is to disable the siren.. the car will still flash but no audible alarm. please note.. this may invalidate your insurance.. so you need to replace with a thatcham 1 alarm or tell the insurance company :(

happened to me once... just pressed the clutch and watch the car redline for a few secs before stopping an turning the engine off

I am pretty sure the SR does have them as standard. Not sure where the swtich would be as I did not have the SR model -
