  1. Having stared at my grille for a short while whilst squinting and imagining various ideas, I've decided to go for the TRD badge and remove the centre 'L'.
  2. I drive an SE, so decided to remove the Sport emblem from my grille. Now I have a thin black plate to deal with. I'm thinking of getting a metal TRD badge, which should sit over the plate and cover it nicely. And I've yet to decide whether to remove the larger Lexus 'L' from the centre of the grille... What have others done? Need some ideas :)
  3. I want to see your car with the gold wheels fitted. Good work on the smaller paint jobs. :)
  4. Thanks guys. The search is still on :)
  5. A bit of a strange one... but read on! I've just picked up an IS200 in Platinum Ice. It has a spoiler with LED which I'm not too keen on. My previous IS200 had a much more subtle TTE boot-tip spoiler. What I'm hoping to do is find someone who has an IS200 in Platinum Ice, which has a subtle boot-tip spoiler who I can exchange my boot lid with. I know I could go down the bodyshop route and have the holes filled and painted, but I thought this might be a viable option to try first. No money exchange. Simply, swap the boot lid. Of course, the shade of Platinum Ice paint has to match etc.. the details can be ironed out later. Anyway, here is what my spoiler looks like which I wish to exchange.
  6. Hey Mike, thanks for the help. I'll try that after lunch and let you know.
  7. Hey all, I recently received my pulse LED's and LR's from Mike (another group buy). I'm having trouble with them. I've installed them along with the LR's, however, I'm getting two lights on my dash. One is the exclamation mark within a circle (handbrake engaged light) and the other is a rear bulb out light. The handbrake enganged light is constantly on, whether or not the handbrake is on. The rear bulb out light is only on when switch my lights on. I installed the LR's the same way as explained in previous posts. I've wired it as so: White + Green Wire <---------------- LR ----------------> White + Black wire. Is this correct? Also, it may sound dumb (don't say I didn't warn you), do the LR's have to be fitted in a certain direction (polarity)? Any help would be appreciated. The LED's look awesome and they pulse. I just want the warning lights to go away! Thanks in advance. :D
  8. Group buy anyone? The testimonials are filled with Porsche owners.
  9. That'll be Richard over at Tint-R - he's ace and I've used him on both my cars now, and recommended loads of friends and they're all well happy. Mike Morse reckons he's one of the best in the country, and I'm certainly happy with the work he's done for me :) I'll vouch for Richard also. I've had my previous two cars done by him to a very good standard. Tint R 1 Vernon Place, Northern Court, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire NG6 0DE Tel: 0115 975 5111 :)
  10. He doesn't have a satnav. I'm in the same position. I have a standard headunit and no satnav screen. So I'll have to keep an eye on this thread and see the solution.
  11. Excellent diagram. I don't really need the other thread now. Thank you. :D
  12. That is a very tidy car. Good luck to the seller.
  13. Hey all, there was a thread on here which contained quite a detailed discussion on how-to setup coilovers and someone put up a good explanation. I've searched through a lot of pages but haven't found it. I think maybe the keywords I've been using is wrong. Does anyone remember this? Thanks in advance for any help.
  14. I don't wave, but if in traffic and they're wanting to pull out in front of me, I make plenty of space for them and I get a wave to say thanks.
  15. Handwash almost every time without fail. If I'm in a hurry, I'll use a jetwash but always wipe down afterwards. :)
  16. I'll try and make this meet tomorrow. See you folks there. Thanks to Mr. Morse for the pointer. :D
  17. Excellent pictures. Seems like it was a good meet. I'll have to keep my eyes open for another meet.
  18. I was flicking through a car modding magazine and came across the following passage about how to ensure your car passes an MOT. "Brakes - Common problems are rusty break lines, perished rubber hoses and lowered cars with no adjustment for brake bias. Standard cars send around 60% or braking power to the front wheels. If you load up your boot, the brake bias valve compensates by sending more power to the back. When you lower your car, the bias valve thinks the car's weighted down and will cause the back wheels to lock up easier - a sure fire fail. So if you lower your car, get the brake bias adjusted by a pro." I've never really paid attention to the tests carried out when an MOT test is due because my cars have never failed, but then again, they have never been modded. Now that I've recently lowered my car, I'm wondering if there is any truth in that article. How many of you with lowered cars have adjusted your brake bias? :duh:
  19. I know that roundabout and I'm very sorry to hear of your accident. I'm sure you'll bounce back. :D
  20. Welcome to LOC UK and thank you. My alloys are called Mania Vermont.
  21. I didn't realise it was you who wrote the instructions otherwise I would have PM'd you and picked your brains haha.
  22. Thank you very much First of all, thanks for writing the instructions in the first place. Without it I wouldn't have been able to do the work at all. I know it's difficult to write instructions for everyone, especially someone as numb headed as myself when it comes to cars and components. I think it would be useful to add more detail on how to seperate the balljoint and wishbone. I bought a similar looking tool but it just wouldn't work (I know that isn't your fault) but I resorted to smacking the joint till it came loose. So that may be worth a mention. Another thing I found is when removing the lower arm bolt, doing just that didn't help me. I had to remove the smaller bolt futher up the arm which helped me push it down a little more. One last thing, I didn't lube any bolts/nuts up when reassembling the parts. Was I ment to and if so, where? Basically, any extra hints and tips would be good. It'd make other novices like myself more comfortable in doing the work. When the balljoint wouldn't come loose, I honestly believed I had hit a dead end with the front of my car stuck in the air. Thanks again! :D
