  1. might not be much help to you but when they changed my tyres at the station last month they just jacked it up (with the handbrake on) to change the tyre so I cant see it being the handbreak on as the issue
  2. oooooouuuuuuccccchhhhhhhh :duh: What are the chances
  3. Sounds like youv'e had a hell of a time :o seems like school boy errors at the lexus garage though maybe you could try using a diffrent branch? A friend of mine went from a Altezza (imported) to the new 3 series and was so dissapointed with the catalogue of errors (missfirering dogy electricals the real friday adfternoon car) That he is almost doubling his repayments so he can go back to buying a new Lexus IS250 hopefully he won't have the same probs as you & vise versa Sorry don't want to put you off in anyway it may be he just had the rougue end of line beemer Good Luck with that.
  4. Ill second that and keep it simple guys for the not so mechanicly minded :duh:
  5. Dino Which injector cleaner did you use?
  6. it dosen't feel diffrent in any way you can just hear it working which is a bit worrying
  7. Ahh must be the peddle itself then does this indicate any problem???? or just a creaky pedal? Thanks Steve
  8. Hi guys some of you may have seen I recently posted topics about fighting with second gear on occasions? and some have said possibly linked to the clutch on its way out Now just recenlty (yesturday) when change gear I can hear the movment of the clutch cable is this just a case of needing greasing or..............? Unfortunatly I can't just go and get a new clutch under warrenty (non Lexus) as they won't replace anything if it's not broken oh and the warrenty runs out in 2months so if any of you drive past a tall angry bloke stamping up and down on the clutch of a green IS200 oustide a mechanical garage then don't worry only me :P Although it probably would be less hassle to renew the warrenty :D Many Thanks
  9. Also remember if you have a standalone Sat Nav sysytem some of theese are not up to the job with quick clear windscreens (interferance or something) I assume the band at the bottom you are talking about is to un-freeze the wipers or something like that - does this come on with the rear-winder heater thing or what? And, yes I am thinking along the lines of "quick clear" screens, and you can get them in plenty of vehicles nowadays, not just fords. Just wondered if any glass manufacturers were doing them for vehicles where they are not an original option.
  10. If the car was on your driveway does it matter????? was it taxed? (although if it was on your land this is irrelavent) If its on your open driveway they could remove it anyway they want if you don't know why its gone it would suggest to me its been stolen?????????? As you say it's ON your driveway i'm confussed Why do you want to know this!! are you being repossesesd or something? (don't mean to be rude really)
  11. Not sure the idicator seems to stick out more than the mirror somehow does not seem right but not bad and for that price who cares LOL
  12. If its not taxed you can't drive it The Seller providing its a recodnised garage has the power to Tax it for you they don't always need the same documents you and I would (it would go under there company Tax etc) If not ask them to send you the relevant documents plus a cover note from your insurance company you can tax it b4 you pick it up.
  13. Thanks Arron I have a MOT coming up and I always get my mechanic to give it the once over b4 hand ill get him to look at this Cheers
  14. its all jargon to me but if you PM me your email adress ill send you the printout (email) I have from tony at wheels in motion from 2 weeks ago My IS200 is 99 model on V it gives you the figures it should be at and the figures mine were at (which my figures are of no use to you ofcourse) hope this helps I can't load the on this site as the upload thingy is not working TONY DID TELL ME THAT CHANGES WERE MADE TO MODELS AFTER 2000 SO IF YOURS IS LATER THAN THAT BEST SPEAK TO HIM (the doctor)
  15. I here what your saying derek but what we are getting at is the fact that you anounce your going elswere they can just bring down the premium to suite them. Its clear that everone's circumstances are diffrent but with each of those circumstances they are normally always able to reduce the premiuim. Another point to consider as well, as well as if they will let you take the car to a Lexus dealer for example.
  16. If only a few more people like that were around What was the problem?
  17. I must admit I passed a bloke in a platinum ice IS who waved at me the other day and i'm afraid I ignored him, I think it's maybe only people who are in LOC would consider? GW
  18. I't would depend on the circumstances surrounding this have you had a problem? If it's a certified removal firm and it's on public property then they have to provide you with ID/documentation If its on private land the the owners of the land have the right to employ private firms to remove vehicles (the real nasty Guys) they don't really need to be liscensed in the same way that council operated company's do,
  19. Just to pick you up on that point, we are a broker and will always quote the best possible price we have been able to obtain when speaking directly to the underwriter. Upon hearing that a cheaper quote had been made available to Mr Yau, we then spoke to the insurers and re negotiated the price on the basis that if they wanted the business they would have to improve on their price, which they did! Don't try to shoot us down when we are trying to do people like you a favour!!!! Sorry but im with Bazza on this I think insurance company's should be offering their best premium without any sort of haggling!!! I don't mean to shoot anyone down (especially the brokers) but insurance company's are multi billion pound industries which I have no desir to support wallets, although I do completley understand there purpose, I don't always agree with their policy's especially when they try to riggle out of any claims at the end of it all
  20. ill b watching B)--> QUOTE(T7RY B @ Jun 5 2006, 06:40 PM) ← Lexus GS450 Hybrid.
  21. And will they charge to issue a new plate? B)--> QUOTE(T7RY B @ Jun 5 2006, 05:57 PM) ← If the plates that are already on the car are of no importance then do NOT keep them. Just put your new "private plate" onto the car. When you come to sell the car tell DVLA that you are taking off your "private plate" They will issue you with a new plate. Either your old number if they still have it (most likely) or a new plate of the same year as your car was registered.
  22. Roonaldo But when I sell this the car I would probably want to transfer the private plate to any new vehicle and that would leave the current car without any plates Wouldn't it???? and nobody would buy a car with no plates I'me getting conflicting comments either do I or do not pay to keep the old plates on the system or otherwise??? I've still been trying to get hold of my local DVLA office to clear this up but thanks for your input anyhow
  23. Whoops now corrected missed a 0 :winky: bargain
  24. Ill second that I enquired just recently to having my IS200 resprayed Red and was quoted £2000 upwards I had my Mitsubishi FTO resprayed by Modified Metal in birmingham - from the standard silver to a metallic Gunmetal - it was £1600 which included all door-shuts etc but not interior or engine bay (which where not colour-coded anyway), and that included the brake calipers painting too. They did an excellent job and it still looks superb today. That was a year or two ago and the IS200 is obviously a bigger (4-door) car so I would expect you would be looking at something nearer £2000
